Guess that means I should sell my Wii U copy of 1+2 that I never opened.
That's probably a good call, but the Wii U secondary market has all but crashed. Or at least that's how it seemed about a month ago when I sold my sons games. The physical for B1 should still hold a pretty good value though, as the NS is only getting it in digital form(at lest here in the US). Hopefully the Japanese games have English options, but that would be to cool, so don't count on that. LOL

According to the email from Best Buy, I bought the DLC for “The Legend of Zleda”. I’m not even sure how to pronounce that. Fortunately the Eshop code doesn’t care.

Stupid question. I still have a Wii laying around and thought about hooking it up to play some older games, GameCube titles and Mario games.

I know the Wii digital store is supposed to close (in 2019?). But are there “deals” on it? I see the OP mentions some Wii U games that may be playable on Wii.

I am pretty sure no Wii U games run on the Wii.  There are no sales on the Wii shop channel anymore. That ship has sailed a long time ago.

Well, what I meant was Wii games run on Wii U. But anyway, I haven’t been in the Nintendo ecosystem for so long that I didn’t realize that the Wii Shop Channel overrated completely separately from the eShop so that actually answered my own question.

Might still pick up a few games before it closes — just will have to make sure they are downloaded for whenever they decide to cut that off as well.

There was only ever one sale on the Wii Store, but that was probably eight or nine years ago and was done by Sega. No Wii U games are playable on Wii, but if you did the system transfer to Wii U you could do the opposite in the Wii Mode.

The pricing for Bayonetta 1 & 2 for the Switch is the following...

$60 Physical Retail copy (image of the boxart is towards the top of the page in Frisky's post) with Bayonetta 1 being a digital download code inside the case.

The following options are for digital download on the eshop

Bayonetta 2 will cost $50 if you buy it alone with the option of buying Bayonetta 1 for $10 down the line if you choose so

Or

If you prefer to buy and play Bayonetta 1 first then it'll cost you $30, with the option to buy Bayonetta 2 for $30 down the road if you choose so.

Im waiting for Best Buy to post the physical edition for preorder so I can use my certs and GCU.

Apart from the games Nintendo used to give away on Club Nintendo, the only game I ever saw on sale for the Wii was Retro City Rampage through VBlank's website. On the bright side, most games are 1000 points and under so some of the best games (Art Style Series) are pretty cheap to begin with.

Also, if you have a Wii U, every Wii game is playable through the Wii Channel if you wanted to go that route.

Question for my fellow switch owners, how many of you take your switch portable on a regular basis? I’m taking a day trip to NYC and I’m debating on taking my switch for the trip to and from. I have the basic Nintendo carry case, and a silicone grip cover. Guess I’m just paranoid about theft or damage. What’s everyone’s favorite travel set up?

Take mine to and from campus almost daily.

Just have it in my Sheikah Slate case that came with Breath of the Wild, don't have any grip covers or anything on it. (Though I kinda wish it had a place for a wrist strap like other portables)

I've never used it as a portable since it's far too big for my needs.

I'm a handheld gamer at heart, as 90% of all my time happens there. Since getting the NS for my son about a month ago, I have yet to use it in portable mode once in the house. Like Frisky, I would never bring it out of the house as is, it's just to large for my taste. The fact that I haven't even used it that way in the house shows how non portable it is. But it all comes down to personal taste I suppose, as I'm sure many use it out and about all the time. I take my 3DS/Vita out all the time(as well as some other devices).

It traveled fine when I took it on trips. But I didn't play it on the plane, since it's just too large. And connecting it at some hotels was a hassle, due to not having a web browser for login.

Last time I went on a trip, we took a Vita and a 3DS. Probably took less space total than one Switch.

When I was on an international flight a couple months ago I couldn't trust the tray to do tabletop mode and handheld mode was a few inches too wide for comfort. Even riding in a 4 door sedan packed isn't comfortable.

Of course now there's an iDevice for that.

I ended up buying all of the Virtual Console games on sale before it ended. Castlevania 1 and 3, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, and Gargoyle’s Quest. The Zelda games look bright and colorful, seem to be modeled after Link’s Awakening DX, which is actually the only Zelda game I’ve ever beaten. Fun fact: these two Zelda Oracle games were made by Capcom! Oh; and I bought Life Force too, but that wasn’t a part of the sale, I just really love that game.

Another fun fact, the Oracle games started out as a trilogy, but it was to hard to do the link feature across three, so they opted for just two. And they are very much like Awakening, and along with Awakening, are the only Zelda games I've played and finished more than once. Really great games.

Was just in my walmart and eyed a stack of SNES Classics in the glass,  i bought one xD  they had like 7 of them.  I was so suprised to see them in stock.  i almost bought 2 of them.

Never. It's way too big to take with me on a whim. I can put my 3DS or Vita in my pocket and take either with me just in case I get a chance to play. Switch is missing that important feature.

Yeah, I saw a stack at Gamestop on Thursday night. I already had one, but it's good to know that they're not that difficult to find.

I've had my Switch hooked up to a TV twice now. It's a handheld to me.

Travel, to me that means road trip, and I have taken it in a truck/RV on 3 trips to play while driving (while someone else is driving not me..) or at night.

I've taken it to work a few times but as others have said it's kinda bulky but I have a travel case it fits in with the shell I have on it just fine. Granted I've taken my Vita to work about the same amount.. I will never put a Vita in my pocket to risk damage to the screen (either side) or the thumbsticks, protective case only. I have tossed my 3DS in my pocket though... but I rarely take it out of the house honestly.

Mainly I found that playing at work during lunch or a break, is more of a hassle than it's worth. By the time I get into the game I am playing... I have to go back to work. Playing BotW for 5-10 minutes isn't worth it, maybe some super quick fast paced game would work better..

I have a lot of crap I have to take to work with me daily, so I have a backpack I toss everything into and the travel case for either the Vita or Switch fits just fine so theres not that bulky case to hold onto.

Edit: I know there are a lot of people that take them to work and play on a train/bus etc, look at Japan for example. I forgot I took a trip to Louisville this summer and took my Switch and played the entire flight there and back as well as in the hotel at night.

Yeah; I learned that as well! Awakening was great. Can’t wait to play these, but I have to beat the original Zelda and some other games first!

Long flights(4+ hours) are where the Switch being portable really shines.
Do you have a portable battery/recommendation? I regularly fly for work ~4.5 hours and usually bring my Vita and 3DS, but as time goes on would bring my Switch if not for the fact the battery doesn't last the flight...

You want one with Power Delivery standard (which the standard that the Switch and its AC charger supports), so there are two/three recommendations:

The third one hasn't been in-stock recently, but I list it as well.

I have a cover thing that protects the screen/sticks without adding any extra bulk so I can still fit my Vita in my pocket.

I use the cable that came with my Pro controller and just plug that in to the Switch. Charges while you play just fine, not a fan of portable battery solutions.

Ah my flights never seem to have in flight power options.

Thanks for the suggestions Dranakin and Thebacklash, will look into those :D

That game looks really good actually (Noitu Love: Devolution).  Anyone recommend on 3DS?  Not sure how well that'd play/feel cramped vs say on PC via Steam.

Also heads up for those that backed Yooka Laylee on Switch (changed their backing to Switch) - It's released!  Downloading now.  Check your emails!

Thanks for all the replies to my question. Had a great trip to NYC, was a little freaked out that there was a bombing this morning in the exact place I had been yesterday. But my switch traveled well, had it in a backpack that I decided to keep locked up on the bus since the holiday crowds were huge.

This is the grip I used and it felt great, it slightly covers the shoulder buttons, but didn’t hinder my Zelda play.
Also, I read on Reddit about the charger for the google pixel working well with the switch, and I can concur.
It’s able to charge the switch slightly faster than what breath of the wild can consume.

Here is the new deal for today:

:3ds:

Noitu Love: Devolution - $3.99 - 60% Off - Ends 12/30 - 10

:wiiu:

Noitu Love: Devolution - $3.99 - 60% Off - Ends 12/30 - 10

There's also a promotion where you can get one version of Noitu Love for 50% off if you buy the other version, so you can get both of them for $6.
Where's details on that promotion? I Bought it for my WiiU, but when I go to the purchase screen and checkout for the 3DS version it shows up as $3.99 still.

I have been holding out on buying sonic mania and wonder boy ( I know it was on sale for black Friday, but didn't get it)
Hoping at least sonic would be on some type of a sale for Christmas.

I got wonder boy during the black friday sale and am really enjoying it. Definitely difficult and doesn't give you a ton of direction but fun when you figure things out. Being able to switch to the original graphics on the fly is really cool too.

So I have mynintendo coins that I don't forsee myself being able to use on anything useful for switch before they expire.

Can somebody with experience in the matter let me know if I redeem them for the 3ds/Wii u games that are available will I get a code that I can give away to somebody who could use it? Or does it auto redeem to my profile?
