$7 doesn't sound to bad. I just looked it up and people are saying it's well worth the money and that for spoiler purposes, you should play it before the final case as it appearentally takes place before then.
Before the last case or two, but also after the first two or three, as it assumes you're already familiar with the characters. That would probably be best.

I've done it 5 times in the last month with zero issues

just an fyi it's an international charge so if your account is like mine it will send you an alert but that's no big deal

also right now they are having a nintendo eshop 10$ for 7$ promotion that I posted in the nintendo thread but in case anyone is iso one of those that's for sale today
Yea, I'm international, not inside of US per se.

What I dislike is the fact that I have to make an account...but will try to do it later on!

Thanks for the replies!

Just noticed Unchained Blades is on sale for $9.99 until 5/18, which is the lowest price it's ever been.  And of course I have exactly $9.98 in eshop credit right now.  Damn, time to pick up a new card.

You guys are missing the biggest news of the day...

Style Saavy Fashion Forward is coming in August!

I really dislike the ds zelda games. Their really entertaining to watch on Twitch though just because of peoples reactions when they get stuck on a puzzle.

Very happy to see a sale on Unchained Blades. It hasn't been on sale...ever?

Wanted to get the Phoenix Wright Trilogy, but down to $15 in eShop funds. Will have to pick up some monies.

Also, Disney Magical World 2 comes out in October! I put over 70 hours into the first game. Will definitely be day 1 for me.

I loved Phantom Hourglass, it's too bad the free stylus came months after I was done with it.
Phantom Hourglass was great, never understood the hate for it. Now Spirit Tracks I despised. Such great writing couldn't make up for the terrible everything else. That train was the worst thing to happen to Zelda since the CDi.

People hate on Phantom Hourglass because of the control scheme and the central dungeon.

I like PH, but Spirit Tracks is better in every single way. The only bad part of ST was the flute segments.

Those controls on Hourglass and Spirit Tracks ruined it for me.  It was very difficult to reliably get a sword swipe instead of just moving by accident.  Maybe it was the age of my DS at the time, but I learned there was a hacky version with button controls and that might get me to play it.

Japan is getting some new Splatoon equipment based on CoroCoro Comics, one weapon (Roller with Splat Wall and Inkzooka) and two pieces of clothing.

Probably lucky to get it at all since the first one wasn't the hit they were hoping for here.
I feel like I've tweeted NOA and them too many times complaining about it. It wasn't a hit because GS botched the launch. I told a couple of manager friends of mine at the time. They should have been pushing that to the kid/momma crowd with that 3DS that came with it.. instead it launched with a puff because it was largely ignored by "adults". But I personally thought it was so good I bought multiple copies.

Got WarioWare and Zelda Picross, so I'm not sure what to save up for now. I've already long since run out of room for games, so not keen on the discounts.

I can't decide if I should use my coins on Picross immediately or the themes. I'm not hot for the themes buy they expire far sooner.

I still haven't bought anything with my coins. I already have Warioware on DS.
I have 840 mii and 980 platinum and nothing to use them on

I still waste my 5 minutes every morning answering questions and changing costumes for those coins I dunno why

from what I've seen so far they will probably expire before I find something worth using them on

Zelda Picross is fun, but it's pretty short. Still what do I expect for free. If nothing else I'm getting better at Mega Picross.

Don't feel bad, I would probably do it too if I could actually get Miitomo to run.

Back when the Zero Time Dilemma watch edition first went on sale, I preordered two just to be safe. Later on someone said they'd be interested in buying my spare since they couldn't get one. But the other day they canceled - so now I have an extra watch edition to scalp.

I played the first Phoenix Wright way back on my DS but didn't play the second or third. Is it worth picking up the Trilogy or should I just pick up Dual Destinies?

Definitely worth picking up the trilogy. The story in and throughout those games is great (in my opinion). Dual Destinies is also worth picking up (that game made me actually like Apollo, lol).

While Apollo Justice isn't the best game in the series, it's still better than most games on the market. There is no such thing as a truly bad Ace Attorney game.

Europe's getting a bunch of Nintendo Selects next month. Ocarina of Time, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, New Style Botique, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, and Lego City Undercover.

Also, get ready for more leaks and speculation because a new balancing patch for Super Smash Bros. is coming.

I disagree just because Apollo Justice's midgame was one extended unfunny joke about panties and the finale was probably the most disappointing thing I have ever experienced outside of the last time I had sex.

AA games are all about a whiz-bang nail biting finale and some great big stupid mystery seven years ago having the key to the one final aspect of this current mystery so that you solve both simultaneously, often involving a grand plot of revenge both masterfully orchestrated and exquisitely symbolic in its total villainy. Apollo Justice's ending is about a complete loser throwing a tantrum because you one-upped him on some stupid procedural trickery all handled off screen. Half the characters' motivations make no sense, a proper villain, murder, and grand finale case are all just kinda ignored halfway through. You can literally see the seams where Capcom's executives took the wheel of the game and ran it aground.

You can't ruin the ending of a mystery game. The whole game builds up to that. Maybe you can get away with that crap in Chinatown or Marlowe books but you aren't playing those.

Not to mention popular characters either missing or acting radically out of character, and dangling plot threads left so untied that we're still waiting for resolutions to them. The ending is also literally a button press. Not even a fiery climactic button press.

I like Apollo as a character, but his solo outing was a mess. AA5 was a great game, but you can tell that they backpeddled hard from AA4.

The first thing I think of when I hear Apollo Justice is that long, unskippable video they kept making you watch in the third case, which really brought the game down for me and keeps me from replaying it (along with the fact that most of the cases weren't very interesting in general - the opening case was probably my favorite, and that says something). My favorite in the series still continues to be the original, although I constantly hear Investigations 2 is great (despite the fact that the first one nearly killed my interest in the series). Haven't gotten around to giving the fan translation a try just yet, but I'm sure I will eventually.

I kind of want to get the trilogy just so I can have all of my favorites on my 3DS without having to worry about my carts, especially after I lent some of them to my younger brother and he accidentally put them through the washer, ruining the label of at least one of them. Still haven't forgiven him for that one.

The AA Trilogy release supposedly fixes some translation errors and changes a little bit of case logic. I don't know all the details, one instance a friend told me that one puzzle required you to present both pieces of evidence to solve but now just needs one and the other is automatic. "The miracle never happen" is gone. Unfortunately, they failed to fix "Well, I guess we know whose milkshake brings all the boys to the yard."

"Wait a minute, I didn't see that. Show us the video of the concert ONCE MORE!"

I want to die.

I don't see how AAI1 could have killed your interest. It wasn't memorable but it certainly wasn't bad, especially after AJ.

AAI2 really is that good though.

The dangling plot thread is tied in to the case they threw away. Literally every character that plot thread had any import with was discarded along with it. There's no way they could possibly resolve it in another game because that's the sort of thing they spent that ENTIRE game building only to throw it all away. About the only way it could have an impact in another game is if they kill the only survivor.

It was so fundamental to AJ, it's like if they finished AA5 without revealing what Athena's bad trial memories were. It was built to be resolved THAT game so any future resolution is going to be an awkward reaching game of twister.

Not really. We only know of about a week or so of Kritoph's and Thalassa's lives. They could easily rope one or both of them into a future case. Hell, Kristoph would be painfully easy given his MO.

Probably just that final boss. That guy just would not go down. I think half the game was that one guy.

Kristoph is almost certainly not coming back, he would have been executed after his plan to dodge the death penalty failed. I guess he could have set things up in advance, but that's not very exciting. Dear old mum will have to eventually, it's just harder to do it now that it would have been to wrap this up properly in it's own game. Now we have to introduce this whole plot over again.

Kristoph easily has enough connections to fake his own death. As for Thalassa, it wouldn't be the first time the series has re-introduced plot points. Hell, Case 3-5 almost entirely relies on plot points left over from the first two games.
