I'm actually looking forward to this since I was able to get a splatoon 2 switch from Walmart last week. Also picked up Mario/Rabbids kingdom battle, and wow is it great. I can see it being a great starting point for someone who is curious about XCOM style strategy games.

Hoping for some port/deluxe version announcements, or some Virtual Console related stuff. I hate having my WiiU stuck on my shelf when realistically I only play like 2-3 games on it (Xenoblade X, Smash, and Zelda's)

I haven't touched my WiiU in a couple of months, wanting to finish Bayo 1 &2, plus I have Tokyo Mirage and haven't even opened it.

I don't even know If I'll keep my wiiu tbh, switch is getting all the time apart from my PS4.

Same, havent touched Tokyo Mirage, and Bayo 1/2 is on permanent backlog.

Nintendo announced they are going to scalper proof the SNES classic. And will make the NES classic again

They shipped like 2 million last year, and they say more than that will be available on launh day, with shipments to continues "through 2018." So that sounds like all 2018.

I know it's OT, but seemed like the best place to post for many to see

WOW, finally a business decision that makes sense. Their in the business of selling the greatest amount of products to the greatest amount of people possible, but yet that seems a foreign idea more often than not.

That "Limited" excuse was just that, an EXCUSE! I would also guess some of the titles may change, as they may have lost the licensing on a few of those titles(or wish to pay less, and make more due to popularity). I would also guess they will put 2 controllers in the package this time around, which is something they should have done from the start.

Anyway, great to see a company who is in the business of selling video games, is actually deciding to sell a product to consumers who want them. What a crazy fuck ing idea I know right? LOL

You all actually believe hat N will even attempt to produce enough of anything to meet the demand within the first two years?

I find that sentiment amusing. They've been delivering hype and underproducing for decades. It's simply how they operate, and I will be a naysayer to them changing this business model until I see it happen.

10 gold coins for $0.59 on the Wii U eshop. Plus you get a game.

Don't know why I waste money specifically for gold points if all I'm ending up saving is a few cents on themes I wouldn't even buy regularly.

Do any of you guys know when nba 2k18 is actually coming out on the eshop? I don't know why it's so hard to get a straight answer from 2k or nintendo this close to release.

cool beans. I was starting to get worried when I didn't see it in the coming soon section of the eshop and 2k hadn't clarified anything about it on twitter.

Square can't fool me, Project Octopath is clearly a SaGa game under a different name. Have to say I really like the look of the game quite a bit.

Wow, didn't expect an Octopath Traveller demo! And those new 2DS designs look really fun. I'm holding out for a New 3DS XL design for the holiday season, though, personally *crosses fingers*

Glad to see the Layton game getting a physical release.  I locked my preorder in on Amazon last night after watching the event live.

It's cool Switch is getting Doom and Wolfenstein 2.   Maybe there's hope that Fallout is in the cards for next year?  Hopefully LA Noire sells well and Take2/Rockstar bring more games to the Switch.  It would be nice to get some GTA and Red Dead.

Honestly, with the way the NS is selling, and how some of these bigger titles are coming along(even though ports of older games), I think the market will buy many of them in good numbers. I haven't played either of those titles(or LA Noire), where as I don't game much on the big screen, but I would for sure buy all 3 if offered physically for the NS. Hopefully they push the NS and don't offer buggy lazy ports, but so long as the end quality is there, I see most of these titles doing pretty well.

I could see any titles showing up really, but I think it comes down to how much time, money and effort is required to port the games, and have it be decent, and still make money based on the current installed base. If systems keep moving at the current pace, I could see more big developers getting their beaks wet based on where the NS may be 1-2 years from now. As the risk is getting way less, the more of these systems get sold.

My hope is this is the beginning of more current gen third party AAA games for the Switch. It's really weird to think Wolfenstein 2 will be out not too long after the PS4/X1/PC version launches.

Well they said 2018, and didn't show a single shot of the game(at least that I saw), so that may not be out for awhile? I would guess mid to late next year personally. Or did they give a window in 2018 for the release? As I was out most of the day yesterday, and didn't get to see all the details of everything shown.

Found out that my New 3DS XL has a busted L button thanks to Metroid: Samus Returns, as it barely registers an input after several presses and that ability to plant your feet to shoot all around you seems like an important thing to be able to do. There are no remapping options and they don't mirror shoulder button actions on the ZL/ZR buttons, so there's no way to get around that other than buying another New 3DS XL. I'm not sure if there's a specific game that caused the issue, so it may just be because the shoulder buttons are poorly made like the 3DS in general.

Do you happen to keep it in a bag or backpack on a regular basis? I had a friend years back who carried his Lite around in his backpack, not in a case or anything, and one of the shoulder button just got a ton of lint behind it(from his pocket/bag), and stopped registering the button presses.

I haven't personally opened a 3DS yet, but I did it on the DS Lite all the time, and cleaning the contact with alcohol and a cotton swap may help. Or it could just be busted, and then the cleaning won't do much good. Search around the web, and see if others have had a similar issue, and if there are any recommended fixes.

Honestly, not having a remap function in this day and age is criminal, but this is "N" after-all. Or just allowing those second groups of shoulder buttons to be used, as I don't think I've played one game that uses those, and if a game did, I probably couldn't reach them due to the poor placement.

EDIT: Also, if you have a can of compressed air sitting around, try that as well. As it my get rid of any dust in there that may be causing an issue.

same thing happened to my old 3ds c pad

I second the whole compressed air to clean out any lint/dust stuck in the trigger fix.  That happens.  I had to do that with my oldest son's N3DSXL on his L button.

...

Played some Project Octopath Traveler Demo last night.  The first 15'ish minutes on the path with the female character was kind of boring.  Maybe it was just the way the story was being told, but it felt like a bad soap opera.  When it finally got into the gameplay with recruiting people through seduction and then battling enemies, it leveled out a bit.  I'm not sure how good it's going to be or if I'll even want to play it, but I'm going to give it a little more time and try out the male path they offer in the demo.

My MH N3DSxl had L button failure a few months after launch and I wasn't playing games that used it so I think it might be a quality issue. Nintendo fixed it right up and it has been fine since then, hopefully Metroid: Samus Retuns doesn't kill it for me.

My New 3DS XL is the only Nintendo product I've owned that had any kind of problems. The paint started chipping off the glossy coat and my up button on the D-Pad failed.

Out of all my "N" systems & handhelds, I think the slot in the NES was an issue(almost everyone had that problem), and a cracked hinge on my DS Lite was another. That was probably it, but I have notice in recent years, especially after they kept taking losses form the Wii U, quality has for sure gone down. Not terrible, but way more issues than in the past.

Your only hope now is to trade it in at Gamestop towards the purchase of another.

If you do decide to buy a new one, and want to go the XL route, I recommend the new 2DS XL(if you don't mind losing the 3D). It's really nice, light, and comfortable to hold. NoA online store is also offering refurbished on the standard N3DS, which I personally prefer to the XL, but that's a personal preference for sure.

BTW, has anyone here gotten any of those yet? I was wondering if they are like the refurb Wii U, in that it's pretty much new, just maybe missing the branded packaging?

I've actually been checking their site pretty regularly, as I wan't to get 1 or 2 back ups, as the Ebay prices got crazy, and the refurb stuff is normally like new, so I'm trying to save up and grab one white and one black for future uses. So when I start to see some go out of stock, I'll have to grab at least one. Me, my wife & son all have that model, and where I doubt mine would ever break, **** happens, so good to be prepared.

EDIT: You may also want to look in to CFW for the 3DS with the broken button, as there may be a way to assign buttons, then you could just by pass the broke one, and use the other. But that may not be workable in game(in regards to hand position), or you may be against CFW, but just a suggestion.

If it is dust in the shoulder buttons, which is pretty common, you could try compressed air or just put it up to your mouth and blow like hell (make sure to dry out your mouth first so you don't spit into it).

If that doesn't work you could try taking it apart to see if you can see the problem. I haven't taken apart a New 3DS, but I have done my OG a few times and it's not terribly complicated.
