I believe there is a DD demo on the e-shop, as well as one for the latest game. The demo's are normally a short portion of the first case, and pretty much shows you what the entire game is about. There's no harm in at least trying it, and the only loss for trying the demo is a little time.

In case anyone was wondering, Pirate Pop Plus is cross-buy for Wii U and 3DS. The description says that it's cross-buy if you buy the game at full price. But, even at the current sale price the cross-buy still works. Fun Buster Bros/Pang style game for $2.49.

I also bought Attack of the Friday Monsters based on recommendations here and enjoying it so far. Thanks for pointing it out!

I believe there is a DD demo on the e-shop, as well as one for the latest game. The demo's are normally a short portion of the first case, and pretty much shows you what the entire game is about. There's no harm in at least trying it, and the only loss for trying the demo is a little time.

True but if you have an iOS device you can play the entire first case of duel destinies.

Yeah, I'm only looking at the 3DS/N3DS vc stuff. The third party license owners probably have to want to put games on WiiU VC, I doubt Nintendo has any control over that.

It's hard not to be disappointed by the state of things on the N side of the market... but I keep my expectations low and based mostly about what currently exists to play.

The releases have been good, yes, I was specifically referring to sales since purchases add up quickly. $24 for all 3 DKC games, $24 for all 3 X games... I'd like to own them portable but in many instances I still have my original carts and can emulate them easily, so I usually wait for a sale.

Anyone who doesn't own Steamworld: Dig should get it now! It's under $2.00, and is an awesome cross between Minecraft, the arcade classic Dig Dug, and the GBA line of Castlevania titles (Metroidvania), where you explore and gather loot to sell and power up your character, and earn items or skills that allow you reach perviously inaccessible places.  It's a 2-D side scroller with excellent art design, nice 3-D effects (even if it is largely cosmetic), and you can play a quick game while waiting in line somewhere, or do a marathon session where you stay up much later than you intended because you keep saying "just one more game."

I can't believe Mario Kart 64 is JUST now coming to the VC, 4 years after the Wii U released. Poor console is gasping it's last breaths of air after Stardew and Yooka jumped ship. It's hard for me to commit to purchasing MK64 when it could technically, come to the Switch in less than three months

I grabbed one of the Mystery Case Files games... played a little of it and found it decent enough to grab the others as well as a few other games by the same publisher.  Also grabbed Fairune 2 (Loved the first one).  So with all of my recent purchase I'm now over 170 gold.  Hopefully next month Nintendo goes back to throwing a few free games on my nintendo or at least some more 30% coupons.

If you have funds on your account and do a system transfer, the funds go as well. If you have two different 3DS systems, and just want to transfer funds from one to the other, that won't work. Also, if you have a Wii U and 3DS they can be tied together, and the funds shared across those as well.

Unless you're tripping real hard for nostalgia then probably not. Since you have no nostalgia for it you would be much better off playing one of the newer games, I didn't think it had aged very well the last time I attempted to play it a couple years ago. Well, they probably have to renegotiate their distribution contracts with the publishers, for one. It's not Nintendo's decision on whether Capcom or Square Enix releases their games for a specific system.

Eh, I don't know about DKC, but I can say from experience that emulation for Mega Man X2 & X3 isn't all that great. It never seems to nail the framerate as well as the VC versions do, which is an issue for games like those.

Although, if you still have those original carts, then that $48 for all six of those is nothing in comparison to their secondhand market prices.

It's not. The games were carefully remastered on Legacy. The PS2 version was just simple ports.

My original 3DS won't pick up my wi-fi signal anymore, so I can't log in to the EShop. Is this a sign that I need to upgrade, or a sign that I need to buy nothing and play my backlog?

A real cag would never ask this question. The only real question you have to ask yourself is how many backups you will buy to sit on the shelf next to your backlog after you purchase your upgrade.

Speaking of VC, how does the NES Punch-Out play on 3DS VC? Any lag that makes it unplayable? Would love to have that mobile.

Perfect. I played this just yesterday. It's exactly what you want in a VC Nintendo game and looks great on the 3ds screen. I actually was playing it on the 2ds.
