I like steel.

Haven't gotten many new ones in the last 2-3 years. I miss when EU Amazons, FNAC, or whoever would put new listings up that we could order internationally, but those mostly went away. There's a few I missed but I haven't been hearing about new ones lately either.

You know, I want the complete cartridge but with how much I’m getting jerked around on just trying to get my Mario Kart corrected I’m not sure it’s worth ordering from them anymore.
Excuse the ignorance but what is the problem? Aren't all switches region free allowing games from anywhere to run fine?

The issue is that they advertised a complete Mario Kart with DLC 1-6, then sent out one that was incomplete and only had 1-5. They sent an email to have the affected people respond to it to correct.

I did respond to the email, it took a few days to get a response asking for a picture. A few days after I sent the picture I finally get a shipping label to return it. Then, nothing. I keep checking the tracking and see it was delivered, still nothing so I sent an email saying hey it looks like it was delivered and also they had updated on social media that the 1-6 were available now and set aside for the previous mis-shipped copies. 5 days later I finally get a response to that saying that they’ll check with their warehouse if my return was received (the tracking was on the label in the same email chain…).

It’s now been over a month since I placed the original order.

Well from now on I guess I won't buy pokemon titles till years later when they actually have the complete game on cart with the overpriced dlc

It's just irritating that they're low quality releases on top of wanting to pay wall stuff. For a company that is already making scrooge mcduck vault swimming pool money.
Yeah, Pearl/Diamond is irritating because it’s missing entire parts of the game on the original release and Scarlet/Violet was in an abysmal state at launch.

To be fair it's only happened once. There's only been two DLC expansions so far.

I think they were just desperate to have something ready for retail, so they pushed it out before it was fully ready on the cartridge. Hopefully it won't happen for Gen 10, but yea, definitely learned my lesson now for next time now that I know revisions are a thing.

What only happened once? You mean the release state of scarlet Violet?

But yeah since they've done the dlc on cart thing twice now. First with sword and shield second with scarlet Violet. I also assume that the next game will probably have dlc and cost nearly the price of the game again if they don't increase it by 5 bucks again so yeah not a fan of this situation. Might just be up to the legends team to make decent titles.

I do wonder when zygardes release will be.

I meant having part of the DLC not be fully on the cartridge. It's only happened once, with Sword and Shield it was fine.

Now, if you meant that moving forward you're going to not bother with the base version and just wait for the complete edition, that's understandable as well.

Ok so i was searching around for the answer can anyone add some clarity/ personal experience? Obviously we know the switch can play any region carts. But my question is local multiplayer has to be between the same region cart?

Seems unlikely, but I can probably try it out personally with Monster Hunter Rise this Sunday if you don’t mind waiting and nobody has a more certain answer before then.

Technically I don’t have the cart, but owning it digitally shouldn’t be functionally different.

I ended up ordering the Violet complete today when it came up. Still no response on my issue and I emailed them about it again today. It’s starting to look like I’m going to have to chargeback in which case I’m anticipating them banning me from future purchases so I figured I might as well get that Violet order in now.

There are a handful of games at new all time lows. Here are a few of them.

Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star. $4.99, 90% off. Sale ends Feb. 24.

Tormented Souls. $3.99, 80% off. Sale ends Feb. 24.

Golf Story. $2.84, 81% off. Sale ends Feb. 18.

Paper Trail. $1.99, 90% off. Sale ends Mar. 5.

Kao the Kangaroo is at a new low of $4.49, 85% off. Sale ends Mar. 3.

The publisher, Tate Multimedia, (along with Untold Tales) are joining in on an anniversary sale with Qubic Games, so if you own Coloring Book, Hole io, Pocket Mini Golf or Robonauts, you get Kao at $1.90.

Also, they have a handful of games at 19 cents if you own any of the aforementioned 4 games (Coloring Book is free, so anyone can get the deals).

Urban Trial Playground

Urban Trial Tricky

Door Kickers

Blazing Beaks

Metamorphosis and Tools Up! are 99 cents.

You can see the full list of games on their site, not sure when it ends. There's a bunch of crappy mobile games, but some gems mixed in like Dex, Hong Kong Massacre, Arise: A Simple Story, Chex Quest HD, Akane, Golf Club Nostalgia and more.

Happy Gaming!

There isn't an article on Pokemon.com for it, but in a news update in Pokemon HOME, the next set of shiny mythical Pokemon are available for Pokedex completions.

Shiny Keldeo is available for completing the Galar, Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra Pokedexes in Sword / Shield. This marks the first time shiny Keldeo is available legitimately.

Shiny Meltan is available for completing the Kanto Pokedex in Let's Go Pikachu / Eevee. Still waiting for a discount on these.

It'd probably be easier to get shiny meltan and melmetal in Pokemon go from the lure box than doing that. Especially since you'd have to trade for version exclusives.

As for the others besides enamouras since they are dlc dex locked that's crappy. These "free" shinies are pay walled out the butt. And if you don't already have the timed event stuff you'd be stuck either trading or waiting assuming that they rerun those. On top of needing both versions of the games and their paid dlc.

Enamouras would be a awesome get if it didn't require catching one already in game. As it's one of the worst things you'll have to do in series. Especially since there's no master ball.

Ignoring that due to either glitches or spawn rates I couldn't complete the dex in arceus as I'm missing shieldon Which only spawns in randomly generated domes on map that have a timer as well.

Might be easier to wait for it to be available in Pokemon go and just raid for those. As I don't wish catching one on anyone from arceus.

Yeah, the Meltan is kind of a flop. You can't currently evolve it to Melmetal outside of Pokemon GO, so it's just going to be what it is for now. Granted, you can't currently get a shiny Meltan in GO (only during specific timeframes, and it's been awhile since you could), but still. I think a shiny Mew would have been far more appealing.

Just beat Xenoblade Chronicles 2 this morning, wow.

It was a great game overall, but man, I have never had to work so hard to really get into a game and had plenty of times where the game just really pissed me off due to some design/gameplay choices. The loot disappearing/flying off cliffs and the way field skills worked were really frustrating.

I have XBC3 in my backlog, but I think I am going to have to wait a while to start it. Now the challenge is figuring out the next game to play!

Glad you liked it. It is maybe one of my least favorite RPGs I ever played. The design of some of the stuff is just so bad I just stopped playing. I tried twice to play it but both times just got mad that I paid money for it. XBC3 is a thousand times better though so you should look forward to playing that.

May I suggest Guru Logic Champ for Game Boy Advance?
Loved my time with the GBA, but I was always playing the 2d castlevania games or metroid back when I had it. Thinking my next game will be on the PS5, haha

I was tempted to quit a few times, but I put so much time into it, I didn't want to give up.

Really good to know that XBC3 may be less frustrating, thank you.

In for a couple of .19 ones that looked interesting since I had 55 coins expiring.

They better replace these things with something not quite as good, as you'd come to expect of companies nowadays. If they're just doing away with these bonuses entirely I'm gonna be pretty upset.

I'm just surprised they are getting rid of gold coins. Especially considering the system is barely that old and completely still functional. I wonder if that points to them changing the rewards system again? and dropping the eshop for switch as well while moving into another one? Since switch is the only one left from the eshop since 3ds and wiiu support were killed. So either they intend on starting a new shop system fresh with the new system or something else.

I honestly hope so. The eshop on the switch console is so damn slow to do anything. I just default to the website. That's gotta affect some sales as I assume alot of people probably only use the eshop to browse and buy stuff.

Aren't you the guy that let $5 in coins expire? 😆
I wonder if they're going to replace it with something else for Switch 2? They've always had some kind of points/reward program. Feels weird to be without one 😞
I think it was $4 but yes that was me. I either forgot about them or didn't see the email. Nintendo sure didn't want to help me out though. It would have been nice to get a couple reminders.

I'm not bothered by either program ending. I redeemed and used the gold coins from games I bought, but I didn't buy games for gold coins. It was a bonus. I never did the vouchers as that's just putting a timer on my money and forcing me to buy games regardless of if there's anything I legit want. Waiting for gamefly to reduce the physical versions I ended up paying less than vouchers even with considering discount eshop currency factored in. So whatever. I get people love to shop and shop and "save so much money" by spending so much more than they intended because of "the savings!"... but I won't miss either program. We physical game buyers didn't really get much at all anyway. Digital buyers even with discounts provided more profits ... so I'd imagine there will sitll be something to incentivize digital purchasers next gen. It just might not be for a year after launch when there are enough games for them to relaunch the program. No sense in having it around any sooner than that since the library won't be there to support it.

The gold coins was basically to incentivize people for buying digital. People at the start of the switch launch were apprehensive to buy digital on a Nintendo system since their history of keeping purchases tied to the console and not an account. People have more or less bought in to the new system and they don't need to convince people to buy digitally anymore. Yes you get gold coins for physical, but it's significantly less.

Not super surprised it's going away, but definitely a bummer.

How many people do you think were actually doing that?

I've been around a while and seen systems like this through out a lot of various industries over the decades. Weather it's the discount card at the grocery store that gets you bonus items that you are paying a higher price for, the Kohl's cash that expires in 30 days so people end up returning so often to the store that the employees get to know them, the mile long receipts at the drug store (or dollar general) with coupons, or places like amazon that hold special shopping days and give you free shipping... which most orders tend to qualify for anyway. Nintendo's approach is a little more generous giving you a year to redeem gold coins from the physical launch of a game and then putting a fairly long timelimit on using them but it's still the same kind of program designed to loop in returning customers to shop more often. Same for the vouchers, though that is more problematic because you paid for the voucher. I've been here nearly 20 years on cag and there have been plenty of store programs like best buy's GCU, Amazon's preorder thing, and so on.. that pushed people to preorder more and not wait for sales. But just here in the eshop thread (and it's various rendtiions through the years that frisky did), we've seen plenty of people talk about stacking gold coins far beyond what anyone reasonably would earn, going out of hteir way to buy eshop currency to stack while it was on sale, and struggle to find something to use on that voucher they bought thinking a game would be out they really wanted. And all to build a bigger backlog. As for how many people, no telling but we have heard all through the life of the switch even when it was still new how the switch version of games outsold other platforms pretty regularly. Now that the switch is set to possibly be the system with the most sales of all time... of course, the mass of users is large enough that it's hard to tell what is natural and what is addicted shoppers. But just the last few pages we had people looking for stuff to burn coins on. Getting games they may not even spend much time with because the thought of just letting the gold coins expire...

Shocked The Princess Bride GIF

And despite my best efforts, even I have managed to still mantain a decent backlog of games.

Platinum points aren't going away.

I haven't even thought about the physical rewards in years. And I used to get everything they released, but now it feels like it's not even worth the cost of shipping. (Though I really want the Pikmin stuff... still can't justify shipping $)

But the emblems/avatars can go away now. Pretty sure you need an online sub just to have access. It takes way too long to load them up, then way too many button presses to select each one. Then you accidentally press B too many times and it backs you out of the menu and you have to navigate all the way back to where you were. It's so frustrating that I don't bother with those anymore either.

Never a great feeling when things like this are completely taken away, but this won't affect me very much. The gold coins are a nice little bonus, not a huge change to me. I never bothered with the vouchers.

I definitely miss the old Club Nintendo stuff they used to have like the 3ds game cases and some of the soundtrack cds you could get. Those were really cool extras and I still enjoy having those to this day.

I don't even remember the last time I used platinum coins, maybe for some mini towel for switch sports maybe? The last cool thing I can remember getting with platinum coins was the Zelda picross game for 3ds, I think.

They used to have pretty good items. Same for bundled items with Nintendo Power magazine, like that gamecube Zelda collection.
