It’s a different world. I firmly believe the ‘selling out’ is just scalpers trying to make money. Todays calling world is way different than 20 years ago.

The fact of the matter is there’s no reason to buy a Wii U 2 except for Mario kart world. Or to call it a switch pro to play older switch 1 games like pokemon that were broken and now run properly 5 years post launch.
Let it go. You don’t want one or can’t afford one. Whatever. We get it.

I disagree. People are looking at consoles the wrong way now. It's time to accept that these companies are not looking to reinvent the wheel anymore and that they are now committed to forward compatibility from here on out. It's better to think about it like a phone upgrade. After owning a Switch 1 since 2017 it was time for an upgrade. Quality of life improvements alone make it a night and day difference. I'm glad Nintendo didn't try to force some dumb gimmick this time.

Oh I completely agree! This is a switch pro. Not a sequel. They named it incorrectly.

I’m glad you mentioned this specifically. It’s getting old when people say I’m knocking the console. The fact is it isn’t a new consoles, it’s a super late minor upgrade. Just like the ps5 pro, people are buying it to play older games better. It’ll take at least a year for proper ‘pro’ built games to come out.

I wish it were a Wii U 2; then we would have a sequel or remake of Nintendoland, which is one of the best things gaming experiences ever. Your insult makes no sense.

Not trying to insult. Just enjoy calling it a Wii U.

Gotcha. I don't want to steal your fun.

Personally when I think Wii U, I recall the first home gaming console that had a handheld in the box and the ability to run dual displays (different screen content on the pad vs the TV). Sure the pad was essentially tethered (by a wireless signal) and I'm sure I'm like a broken record here, but that multi display capability made for some amazing couch multiplayer experiences.

I would be really stoked if we could get a dumb, $20 msrp streaming receiver in our docks to do a similar trick today, but it's pretty clear the marketplace doesn't care much about interesting in person multi-player experiences.
