Next to the registers. Empty display boxes, of course. Just the one color though, the gray one. There was also Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces, and a third title I can't remember.

Unless there's a coupon I don't know about. Full price for a Switch Lite seemed hardly worth mentioning when there's OLED models available.
Switch kites are pretty hard to find around here.

It was more incredulousness. Like, Big Lots, really?

Before the holidays like last October, I thought I saw them at every major retailer in my area. Figured everyone was going after the OLED model being the newest Switch and all.

Oh, I got you. I was hoping for a coupon to knock off that $200 full price.

Hidden behind a "paywall" that is Amazon Prime, if anyone was curious.

The fact that it’s still available means they’ve fucked the resellers.
Now that's what I want to hear. Also, "Switch kites." I so would get a Switch case that made the Switch look like a kite.

Saw a ton at Target today, like 4 in the case.
That's also what I like to hear. Gives hope of finding one in-store.

Edit: Now out of stock at Target online. Guess I can hope to scrape up the money for that Switch Lite before they're all gone at my local Big Lots.

Still available at Walmart as of 8:36 pm on Sunday

I checked the Target app for the OLED in the mornings, it would register anything they got in stock overnight. I also saw some in stock notices for Target and Gamestop(!) by searching for it on Google Shopping then doing compare stores. So you might try that if you are actually looking for an OLED.

Local Walmart had about 8 white OLED's just sitting in their cabinet. Was surprised they had any in stock. This was the same walmart I grabbed my sister's AC switch on launch day so I don't think too many people buy gaming stuff there. Santa Fe Springs if anyone is close by and this was on saturday when I saw them.

If you play in portable mode a lot, it's a pretty significant upgrade IMO.

I game much  more in docked but when I flew recently and played Metroid Dread and Hades on my flights, damn it looked fantastic.

I play 95% in docked mode. I want it. But I don’t need it.
Yeah I had a launch one and the battery on it was also weaker than it should be so the battery upgrade + screen was worth it to me.

I also ended up modding my launch one after I had my OLED one which made it more valuable and sold it for $375 so it was basically a free upgrade for me.

Yeah. That’s good news. Maybe we even get a pack in game in q1…

I went from gotta have it to… meh it’s not a big enough upgrade
Heya Confu, long time no see?! :) I sorta' agree, but since I never bought a Switch, and kept waiting for the "Pro" upgrade...I finally bit. Persistent supply chain issues may keep the true 4K Switch well into Holiday 2022 or further, but I just couldn't postpone fighting my Ninty itch anymore.

In fact I've been going "plumb loco" the last few days or so. Buying almost any Switch games on sale. My cheapest being Super Mario Odyssey for roughly $26 new via Amazon Locker w/ coupon pickup code and Zelda BotW Best Buy 15 Days sale, etc.

BTW...should I get the official Switch Pro controller or the Power A controllers?

What’s up dude! Good to see you.

I love the official switch pro controller. It feels really good. I haven’t used a power A one but you can get the official one for $59 or less.

I just got mine today. I got it to replace my stolen original NS (version 1 or whatever) and after trying BotW and Mario Odyssey, I can say the screen is definitely nicer than my old NS for sure and if someone was buying an NS today, I'd definitely say if you have the $50 it's worth it to the get the OLED... but I also don't get why so many people are gushing over this upgrade, like it completely changes things. The games still look like NS games and while it's definitely nicer to have a better screen overall, but nothing that's blown me away. I do wanna try a game that's more recent though... Dread color-tones seem like they would actually benefit from the OLED screen.

I saw a OLED screen for the first time on the Vita like a decade ago... THAT was amazing. The OLED switch is more like "hm, that's pretty cool".

Honestly, the only thing I did notice that was an upgrade was how much nicer the speakers sound.

OLED Switch has obviously a bigger better screen than the OG Switch as well as better sound, battery, kickstand, and dock with LAN port. So, if you are a getting a Switch for the first time, go for the OLED. But if you play mostly docked or want to mod, get the OG one. No need to spend extra on an OLED if you play on the big screen. Now where is the 4k Switch, Nintendo?

I managed to get TWO of these, just in case any extended family need a Switch for Christmas for anyone.  I can always return them after Christmas...

I have a launch Switch unit.   I'd upgrade if I could get a decent price for my launch unit... the $270 Gamestop trade deal might have been my best bet, right?  I know that at one point launch Switches were in demand due to hackability, but...

Yeah the GS deal was the one to go with. After fees/shipping on ebay and such, you would get less than the $270. I dont see the value increasing more than that on this version especially after the holidays. This is for the system itself. Obviously you could unload some games and accessories to bundle with the system to get more.

I listed my launch Switch on FB for $400 and sold it pretty easily for $375 shipped. It had a scratch on the screen but it was on the bottom left and was on the plastic part that wasn't actually over the "screen" and was on the bezel part.

I did mod it myself before listing it and listed it as an unbanned modded Switch, and included the jig with it (which was like $6 on Amazon), as well as a 64gb microSD card.
