I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

EDIT 6:I found the master list which is essentially the green tag games merged with the 12/22 list. I did find some new games that will be part of the B&M sale on Monday but still no Psychonauts for Xbox.

My store had 5-10 copies of RE4 and Pikmin 2 left when I picked up my copies, so if anyone can't find them and they haven't been raided come Thursday, I can probably pick a couple up.

By the way, anyone know why RE4 rings up as a 44.99 Promo?
 
To whoever asked about Halo 2 LE - mine still had like 3 or 4 left (I picked up one). I would've picked up a couple more games, but I don't have enough money currently (Metal Slug 3/4 comes to mind, and I didn't know about the Romance games being on the list), so I'm hoping against hope they still have some of those Thursday so I can just buy them without having to do the PA thing. I'll be happy with my DDS and Halo 2 LE if I can get them adjusted though ^^. Hopefully we'll get some more confirmations from TRU people today/tonight if this is YMMV and what exactly is up with the conflicting price adjustment reports.

Just stopped by the Golf Mill TRU-- no darkstalkers, no pikmin 2, no psychonauts and the store is lacking any games for any system.

They did have 2 Halo 2 LEs and about 6 display boxes for Fatal Frame 2 for the Xbox.
 
Anyone know the time frame to do price adjustments at TRU? Is it 30 days? I just happened to pick up Golden Sun: Lost Age at retail price during the end of November, so I hope I can still price adjust that come Thursday.

Is Golden Sun worth checking out? I've heard nothing but good things about it...however, my backlog of games atm is ridiculous (try 80+ games or so). But for $10, it would be hard to pass up.

I got both Golden Sun games from GS during the B2G1F, haven't tried them out, but I've been told they are among the best portable RPGs. And really, does it matter if your backlog is 80 games or 81 games?

I played both the Golden Sun games to completion and found them to be very enjoyable. Nice graphics, decent story. Can't go wrong for $10 for lots of gaming.
 
I decided to stop by TRU on the way home from my morning class today and see if I could grab a couple games and then price adjust them. I rolled in to the parking lot around 11 and I kid you not, there wasn't a single available parking space. 11 a.m. on a fucking monday, I thought to myself "don't you people have jobs" and then started to cry.

Actually, yes...it kinda does matter for me at least :D I have this horrible habit of buying a whole bunch of games, and never playing them. My backlog of games can probably last me 3 years or so, yet I just keep wasting my money on more games. >_
 
Dropped by my local store and they were completely out of RE4 so I asked the clerk when they'll be getting more and he said new games are coming in by the day. Hopefully they'll get a couple copies because I really want to play it.

I hate when I buy games for full price (DDS) and then they drop down to a ridiculous price within the next month or so. My TRU had a bunch of them, so I might be able to make my money back or at least trade.

Just came back from my TRU in Queens, NYC. snagged 3 xbox games (Doom 3, Conker, WWE) and 2 copies of Transformers for PS2 for Christmas presents (there's still a boatload of Doom 3, Halo 2 LE, Conker and Transformers at my TRU for anyone in NYC wondering where they can find one). Asked the nice lady at the register if I could come back Thursday to pm and she said "sure, just bring in the receipt". Man this has been an excellent year for CAGs. :lol: :rofl:

While the selection was actually very decent considering its a few days before chirstmas most of the good ones like RE4 had pleanty in stock. Though I did pick up a copy of RE4 and Tekken 5 (last copy of T5) and plan on coming back on thursday for the price match. But they had 13 copies of RE4 in stock.

I picked up these 2 games because RE4 is the game I really want and T5 was the last copy so meh..

I also asked how long this deal was suppose to last, and the worker and his manager told me it came on the sheet that their price changes came on and that it wasn't some special or something so they told me they didn't know when it was suppose to end.

Good Luck to everyone looking for that certain game. :)

This makes me happy, seems like it won't be YMMV as some feared. Unless its just Ben's store and this store. It will be interesting to find out if there are other games clearanced that may not have shown up on Ben's list due to no stock.
 
Well the problem with the price matching is some people, like myslef, dont have the $600 to $700 to initially spend. I know, its sad, but most of my moolah was spent Thanksgiving weekend.

The unanswerable question remains, should you show up first thing Thursday and deal with 100's of nutcase nannys and screaming brats (and employees saying "whats a markdown?), or show up at dinnertime/soccer practice time, and find nothing but empty shelves. :(
 
Also, all the soccer moms emptying the store are completely ignorant to sales like this. So most of them will be buying "Big Riggs vs. Advent Rising 2007 Turbo Edition" and crap like that for their kids. Games like RE4, GTA, and Halo... YMMV... but Killer 7 and many others should be in stock!

Does Metal Slug Advance compare favorably to the Metal Slug on Neo Geo? That's the only game in that series I've played.

Might as well pick up THUG 2 for my future brother in law. The only PS2 games he owns are skateboarding and waveboarding... and I can't justify giving him a $40 present in the form of THAW.

I've played Metal Slug 1 and 2/X on Neo Geo, and 4 and 5 on PS2. They compare favorably with each other - the graphics are almost identical, although I personally prefer the first two games - better level design and enemies. Still, for $10, this is worth it, especially if you are a fan of the series (like me).
 
Can anyone confirm that Psychonauts for XBox is on for this deal? It's listed in next week's TRU ad, but I still haven't seen anything in this post.

Nope sorry I didn't, though most the the top selling games such as RE4 seemed to be in good supply while the lesser known games seemed to be sold out at my TRU. I was looking for Metal Slug for the GBA as well but sadly none were left.

It was funny walking into my TRU and seeing like the shelves ripped clean of toys and such, I expected to see nothing in stock at the games department but they most of the ones I was looking for in stock. Though I only pre-bought 2. They had maybe close to 30 copies of Viewtiful Joe 2 for the NGC in stock.. :O So I'll pick that game up on Thursday.
 
Did it just slip everyone's mind to ask why TRU is willing to drop prices down to two Big Mac meals? Or does your happiness (soon to be) overshadow your curiosity?

Say what you want about how old Pikmin 2 is getting, or how the RE4 gamecube craze is gone, but games like those two on the list worth way more than most GH, PH, or PC titles going for standard $19.99. I'm still dumbfounded by Halo 2 LE for 9.99, since I just rebought Halo 2 regular edition last weekend along with the map pack. And Doom 3...if it's good like reviews say it is, why is it dropping to the price of whack games like Triggerman and Clone Wars less than one year since its release?

Halo 1 was $29.99 until weeks before Halo 2 released...Halo 2 LE is clearanced at TRU a little over a year since its release...

hmmmm....XBOX360 doesn't take up that much inventory space...

For someone who has been on CAG for a year, you should know not to question the deal. Just take advantage of it and be happy.

Halo was on the top 10 list for XB games far longer than Halo 2. Aside from that, chalk it up for post-Christmas sales, new systems coming in, etc.

I'm still concerned it's YMMV, since the only list we've seen shows a store specific inventory. That and with the prices ending in x.98, it's kinda bugging me. I'm still setting a few aside just in case.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. I can picture the executive meeting at TRU:
Exec#1- "Every single year we are left with excess inventory after Christmas. Even though we have sales, people just don't want to shop after Christmas is over."
Exec#2- "Well sir, 90% of our Christmas sales last year were before December 22. Why don't we start the clearance early to ensure that we aren't stuck with excess inventory?"
