I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.
EDIT:this is all I got. The new stuff is listed on the top. If anyone else at TRU has anything to add let me know.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

EDIT 6:I found the master list which is essentially the green tag games merged with the 12/22 list. I did find some new games that will be part of the B&M sale on Monday but still no Psychonauts for Xbox.

All I picked up from the clearence list was Digital Devil Saga. There were 3 left, and now only 2. Other stuff I picked up included Polarium x2 ($9.99 each), Bust-A-Move DS and Nanostray ($30 together). Total today was $104.97. Should get back $45 from the adjustment on DDS later this week.

Other stuff I saw included Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, Darkstalkers PSP, Mortal Kombat: Deception KE.
 
funny thing was I send out 2 different proof of purchase to price grabber and they only gave me 5 bucks back! meh

I was thinking about going out and buying some games I want ahead of time - but since there are 4 TRUs within an evenings worth of driving, i can wait till this is 100% confirmed since there should hopefully be enough between the 4 of them.

well i think its highly unlikely that all these items are going clearanced at one store, if this is an isolated incident, im gonna look like an idiot returning $300 of games on thursday

also the OP said that these prices were the same at all the stores he checked

I checked out my store today & picked up Resident Evil 4 & Boktai 2 since they were the last copies left. Surprised that Boktai 2 has lasted as my store has had only 1 copy sitting around for months that I have been on the fence about getting at $20 and I was thinking that it would have been gone by now since I haven't fished around in the GBA discounted games for awhile.

I almost completely struck out at the TRU in Union, NJ. They were out of Darkstalkers, RE4, Alien Hominid and Advance Wars 2. I did score a copy of Psychonauts and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow though. I hope this turns out to be legit so I can get a price adjustment.

Price adjustment is key. I shelled out $55 for a copy of Digital Devil Saga I... Ouch! (Gotta love credit cards...)

I'm kind of worrying about how everything is going to go down on Thursday. The .98 YMMV business is disconcerting, but worse case scenario I can just return everything and mope around for a week.

Although, I'd have to think about keeping DDS (no matter what the final price ends up being).

Why? It would just be more work for them...returning processes, restocking processes, the horrible underlying fact that some of these copies could have potentially been on the bathroom floor of a dirty YMCA with nasty STD's now for the unknowing customer to buy back at retail!!!


I mean seriously, the world of returns is quite a scary one...
 
I won't have much of a chance to go to TRU save in the AM on Thursday (right before work), so I'm not taking my chances on picking stuff up ahead of time.

Since I only have a few wants off the list, if I don't get them, I won't lose any sleep.
 
I checked my TRU and it was a total wreck. Nothing was in order plus the GC section was practically empty. I looked for 3 different titles and found nothing. I thought that there were a few rude customers at my CC but the ones at TRU were demonspawns! It was like a pack of ravenous dogs. Just pathetic.
 
I bought Nanostary (DS) and Bust A Move (DS) for $26.XX after $5 off coupon. Also, pickup Tekken 5 (PS2), Winning Soccer (PS2), Haunting Ground (PS2) and Metal Slug 4/5 (PS2) for $171.XX after taxes.... hope i can get it for $40 this Thursday.

Still have few copies of Batman Begin (PS2), Pikmin 2 (GC), Starfox Adventure, Resident Evil 4 (GC) Sonic 2 Packs (GC) and Mechassault (XBOX) ...........that's they have left and most of the games is dissappear ... i wonder alot CAG here in Missouri :)

probably the best deals here that really stand out seem to be Tekken 5 and RE4... too bad it's not RE4 for PS2 :(

I snag the last copy of Tekken 5. Also, can't find dynasty warriors 5 ( i really wanted this $ucker) thou i seen it 2 days ago and alot games like DDS 1...... but not anymore!
 
Has there been a second source confirmation of this clearance? Have any other TRU employees seen $9.98 price lists at their store for Thursday?

Dude, you have no idea.

TRU's return policy is so crappy and lenient. If someone throws a fit sometimes it gets rewarded at the returns counter. I remember one of the guest services employees telling me that they've had several people try to return training potties that were USED....

All I have to say is good thing I don't work guest service.
 
Question about the rebates for these I bought one of the games a few days ago and I just now signed up it has this on the website.

"Please note that your purchase must take place during the PriceGrabber bonus offer dates."

But im wondering if they take it anyways if u paid for the game before you obtain the rebate?
 
Jeez, I didn't think we'd be this far into to the thread and still be questioning the legitimacy of this sale. These prices are nationwide and will all be dropping on the 22nd from what I can tell. You have 14 days to price adjust an item from the date of the sale. If any store gives you trouble with that, tell them you just want to do a return/rebuy on all of your items and that'll shut 'em up quick. Basically just bitch (kindly, if possible) until they agree to adjust your stuff, the lines will be so long they probably won't have time to argue with you.

The more important question is, are there any other games that are clearanced that are not already listed. I'm guessing benoxer lives in an area that doesn't move too much inventory, because his list has tons of more shit on it than my list, since the lists only gives items that are in stock for that particular store. I'm interested to see if there are any titles that some other stores may have in stock that are included in this clearance as well.
 
As far as Chicago area TRUs go -
Bloomingdale had some RE4 on Sunday night.
Schaumburg had a bunch of Pikmin 2 and Zelda: Four Swords left Sunday night.
Dundee had a fair amount of Pikmin 2, RE4, and others on Monday night. Store was actually well stocked. I got their last DDS.
Arlington Heights had a ton of FF: I & II on Monday night. Not much else that interested me.
Niles (Golf Mill) was looking a bit empty on Monday night. I grabbed their last Halo 2, but it looked like there might be some Conker left. Couldn't tell if they were display cases or not, but they looked shrink wrapped.

Between the five closest stores, I manages to find everything on my list, or a store that was well enough stocked that I could come back if I really wanted it. I've listed the stores that I visited in order, so I didn't pay as much attention to the games I'd already picked up. All of the stores I visited looked like they were out of DDS and

I only participated in this "pending deal" due to the game, Haunting Ground, being included. I have been waiting for a price break on this game since release so figured if I weathered the storm, might as well capitalize on the availabilty of other desirable games.

This was at the Castleton store in Indy. They had about 20 copies of RE4 and 0 copies of DDS.

Hope it works. If so, thanks a lot, OP. If not, no harm, no foul. They will stay sealed until Thursday at the very least.
 
You guys picking up games early are really killing the deal for those of us that may not be as fortunate as you to have all this money. And it sucks, I wanted one RE4 as a gift but two stores I checked today were already sold out. I hope they have some Thursday morning.

It doesn't matter when you bought the game as long as you send in the rebate within the time frame specified on the rebate form. All questions about the PriceGrabber rebates have been covered pretty thoroughly in the PriceGrabber discussion on the Deal Discussion board.

The point the certain deals like this is being to (within the rules) take advantage of the rules. I realize if this deal hit when I first got a credit card, I would not be able to do this... and I dont speak for all, but I NEVER hoard with intent to make money, but I know not all members on this board can say that. I got a few games since I was going to TRU early Sunday anyway...

I will look out for a RE4 the next time I go back (might check inventory today at the TRU near my work)... if they have a copy in, Ill snag it for you

You can only get one rebate per game per household. You could send in 50 upcs, but they have to be of different games each. In other words, they will only send you 5 dollars for every different game you buy that qualifies for a rebate. I was ecstatic earlier this year when EB had those $4.99 game price drops which essentially made the games free. $9.99 is just as good since it drops awesome games down to $5.

Yeh, it's all about the credit card as the previous post says. You just need to be able to cover the $9.98 per game price really, otherwise if you can't cover that then you wouldn't even be participating in this deal in the first place. I only picked up games I really want and the 2 Transformers for Christmas presents. I also let people know what's left at the TRU to save them time from going there for nothing. I also noticed 4 copies of Xenosaga 2 on the "abandoned shelves" at the TRU on Northern Blvd in Queens, I thought those were gone long time ago, just gotta look in the right places.
 
When you price adjust, how do you go about it? I've never done it, so I wouldn't know. Do you just buy the games on an earlier day, then bring them back to the store on the 22nd so that they'll price adjust?

I'm in Lawrence and I've noticd that all the TRU's on the west side of KC tend to get picked over during sales. I have a lot better luck in Topeka. Friendlier people working there, too, typically.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get in on this one as I'll be heading out of town on Thursday. I'd love to get copies of RE4, Pikmin 2, and FF 1/2 but it's just not in the cards :(
