I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

went back to tru and took a super quick look...a lot was missing, no more star ocean non gh's left in stock when the night before there was like 20 of them. don't think they had any more re4's or zelda four swords or any real good stuff.

but I picked up Flatout for the Xbox and had the guy price check it, it was 9.98 :)

I went back tonight, and.. suprisingly, there was a lot of stuff left! Tons of Doom 3, a Viewtiful Joe 2, FF 1&2 DOS, even a Boktai 2 (and I know AA wanted it but I didn't have any spare $$ on me.. if I have some spare money and you still need it, i'll check Monday).. I wanted to get in on that free controller thing but he said i'd have to return all the games and rebuy them all again.. that sounds like more work than i'm willing to do for a crappy controller on a system that I won't play too often anymore, so I passed. But they had a ton of controllers there and i'll pick one up if I buy any more games.
 
i would very much like to own Darkstalkers for the PSP. Unfortunately I've never bought/traded something on a forum...anybody wanna help a guy out? I will either pay or trade some games I have. E-mail is [email protected] if anyone wants to do this.
 
I went back again before they closed still no luck with Resident Evil 4 but I bought Final Fantasy 1 & 2 Dawn of Souls and Golden Sun Lost Age. It looked like no one had touched the FF 1 & 2 that kind of surprised me I thought the FF game would be more popular. Thanks again to CAG.
 
Was in the San Jose area and saw a TRU near Oakridge Mall, thought I'd just stop by quickly in case there was anything interesting left. It was pretty much wiped out, but I managed to find a Fatal Frame II XBOX in the middle of a bin, and a Killer 7 PS2. There were lots of Bloodrayne 2 and Doom3 for Xbox, but that was about it. The Sunnyvale store was completely wiped out.

LUCKY! Fun game. My store doesn't even carry FlatOut, and I don't think they ever have :(
 
Yesterday a clerk gave me a Free DDR Extreme demo, when I asked about the DDR Exteme game (I said I thought it came with a Music CD). He mentioned how they had FREE Demo's of the game. Although I'm not sure if he said demo or not. I thought, at the time, it was a game demo. Once I got outside and checked, it was a Music Sampler. So I went back in asking about if it was supposed to come with the game. He scanned the game, but it came up 39 still. So then I asked if they had anymore Demo's that were free. Got 3 in all. Good thing he didn't ask to speak to the manager. :) I got these.

Dsic 1: DDR Extreme (they only had one copy of this)
Disc 2: DDR UltraMix 2
Disc 3: DDR UltraMix 3/DDR Extreme 2 (that's what it says on the cover)
 
tried out project snowblind copy I got. OK game so far. NOBODY at all on xbox live. We need to get some cag on project snowblind multiplayer...looked fun.
 
Anyone able to find Digital Devil Saga 1? I would be willing to buy it if someone was able to get it and include the shipping. I wasn't able to find it at the TRU that I visited.
 
If any of you Northern California cagers are looking for Pikmin 2, I saw about 10 copies at the Capitola/Santa Cruz TRU. All green tag games are in shopping carts, mostly crap though . All the good stuff was gone.

I played the shit out of it, as it originally was a Deus Ex sidestory. I played it a little on Xbox live, but the multiplayer interface is a little lacking. Stick with it, it's a fun game.. It's no Deus Ex or Invisible War, but I certainly had my fun with it.
 
I was able to pick up Pirates for Xbox. Anybody want to trade Flatout or DoA U for it? Also, one TRU near me had about 10 copies of GTA San Andreas for $9.98 (the AO recall one). I picked up one for myself, but I never even thought about picking up more. Wish I had.

For an interesting read for you Deus Ex fans out there, Google the history on the game development and how it was originally supposed to be a Deus Ex side story. If you play through the game, the similiarities are obvious.
 
Okay I made my last trip to this awesome sale tonight and was a little disappointed but am still happy with all the games I got in my two previous attempts. Tonight I picked up an extra copy of Darkstalkers and an extra copy of World Tour Soccer for trade. The game that I am trying to get my hands on, is Pirates for the XBox and Dead To Rights on the PSP.

Hmm...that's cool and all but she could have check to see if the other stores had them in stock by doing about 3 seconds of work on the computer and save you the time. Since you can check the stock of any other store then call and find out if the computer is totally right, usually it's pretty accurate.

I knew before the sale started which stores in my area had what and I had a plan for hitting them before my friend flaked out.



EDIT: One more thing. Some jackass hoarder came to my store and bought ALL of the Zelda Four Swords (atleast 4 copies) and all the Romance of the Three Kingdoms X (atleast 6 copies). I was working yesterday when I saw several people come in looking for stuff.

Sorry if I seemed rude (like the guys looking for Megaman) but it's annoying as hell when I ask you if you're looking for a game and you tell me no then continue to look through a bin, especially since I can tell you right off hand if we have something in stock or not and save you the trouble.

Later on...one of my cashiers came to the stockroom looking for PS2 Metal Slug 4&5 because a customer asked for it. I went the register to tell him that we didn't have it in stock and I walked by noticing he had ALL 4 copies of PS2 Haunting Ground. I just walked by and muttered "Flipper."

The only TRU near my house is up in Lancaster county, I think, which doesn't bode well as far as game stock goes.

I'm hoping to snag a DDS/Nocturne and hopefully FF1+2, but we'll have to wait and see.
 
I wonder why TRU started this sale in the first place.
I remember when I worked there that any price ending in an 8 meant that the particular item was going to be discontinued or no longer carried by the store.
So are they not going to carry these certain games anymore?

So as it's been in the past at TRU... Baten Kaitos got a sound track with it? 29.99 to buy.

I don't know about other stores. But my store never recieved one without a soundtrack and searchs of other stores inventories came up empty for the one without. So I assume that no store in my area got it.

Not necessarily. Lots of the games will probably go back up this sale is just to clear overstock of certain titles that apparently are not selling or are old. TRU generally does not keep older titles in stock just because there isn't enough room to keep older titles.

I'm sure some of these games will be re-released (GH, PH, and PC) or in some way pushed to a $19.99 price tag.

That can't be true since i saw Baten Kaitos at two different TRUs WITH the TRU special soundtrack in the ALL GT games $10 bin... maybe it's a YMMV.
