Goddamn it. If those ECA codes were up, you could get a hell of a deal with that "Spend $80 get $40" at Amazon.

I know I want the God of War Collection, but pretty much nothing else. Maybe Demon's Souls, if the ECA codes were available. I wish controllers counted too.

Is that some kind of joke or is that a real thing? If its real, thats kinda messed up. You don't usually think of celebrities doing meth.

Is it expensive and worth fixing a 40GB PS3? I got one for cheap $$$ but it doesn't load up the discs.
You could probably do it for $150. I can't remember the name of the guy, but there was a poster in the GGT who knew a lot about this. Did his own repair -- there's a difference in what kind of drive you would have to order from eBay... I think the installation is pretty straightforward, though. The other option would be to send it in for repair, which I think Sony charges ~$150 for... I can't remember how much they charged my friend while he was working to prove he was under warranty (it was a gift, so providing the purchase receipt 8 months later was a hassle).

Still cheaper than a new one, I suppose, but that extra $150 would've gotten you a DS3, a 3x larger HDD, and a much smaller unit.

I don't think they're ever coming back. :(

I think I'm going to use my MW2 $20 credit towards the GoW collection so it's only $20 out o pocket.
This is going to cause One HELL of a shitstorm in the media. I can already see FOX news foaming at the mouth.

Opening Intro to MW2

I was definitely uncomfortable watching it though, so I can see why.
Were you uncomfortable with the shitty video quality or the even more horrendous sound? ;)

I tried to watch, but after the video and sound being poor, once I couldn't understand the dialogue, I just couldn't keep watching it.
You aren't bored, are you chika?
you could tell, huh?

Gotta run to the chiropractor for whiplash. Then, off to the gym to hopefully burn off some stress. Since I don't really have anything I need to do, I could probably stay there long enough to get rid of a majority of it. Either way, I'll find out...

That's awesome.

For fuck's sake, I went out of my way not to go into any MW2 threads or read any coverage after I read that there was a pretty big surprise/twist early on in the game and then some fucking moron in General Gaming gives it away in his thread title because his dumb ass wants people to sign up to boycott the game. Can you guys pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease (perm)ban that guy?

Why does everybody pick on that money-making scheme by a pulp author religion?
What you'll hear: because they're evil/Lisa McPherson/corrupt

What's reality: their doctrine insists upon outright lying, yelling, and character assassination.

What this means: getting into an argument with *any* scientologist yields hilarious results in terms of pissing people off. Play the odds, my friend.

Well it isn't like they make it difficult, with shit like getting pissed at a simple question and storming off set like that. That and the statements by former members don't help them any.

I know that. I was just making a small joke, at the expense of the larger joke of Scientology as a 'religion'

But that's like extrapolating a little bit of boyfucking/sweat lodges/beatings to represent the entirety of the Catholic Church, to be fair. I have no love for Scientology, but there's more than testimonials, since they aren't the only faith to have them.

There's the hypocrisy of people who woudn't dare laugh in the face of people's belief in God, but if you change the metaphysical being's name to "Xenu," then it's a laff riot.

It would be awesome if you actually spoke that language and not used a translator bot. Since its my native language.
1.61 should be out this week.....before the 1st, its done and in testing right now.

I said they don't help, not that they represent the whole organization. They have a real PR problem for sure. I'll admit the fact that Hubbard was a sci-fi writer does make it all seem a little goofy. Like it could have been part of the script for an episode of Star Trek or something. Not to say that it makes any less sense to me than any other religion.

Sure. If Stan Lee and Alan Moore were on the Council of Nicea, it might make folks a bit more skeptical.

Plus, IIRC, Christianity has a creation story, whereas the Xenu story accounts for things on earth, but doesn't account for the existence of mankind. Maybe there's something there.

What's the rumored ban-wave news? Related to Forza's release?

I'm bummed Episodes from Liberty City doesn't count towards the $40 credit on Amazon - otherwise I would have found something to buy.

Ah. I've read things about memory devices being prohibited if they're non-MS, but since I still rock the 20GB drive and don't use memory cards, I just wrote it off.

Anything of significance for folks like me who aren't interested in last.fm or facebook?

Playing foosball toss with your Avatar?
Wolve, what's your opinion on the allegedly approaching ban-wave?
Where did you hear about this?

I think that as long as you play games on release day and not prior to it, you will be safe. Especially considering that around release date ABGX verification will be complete. Each system update has the potential to create a ban wave since you are installing new software on your 360. Usually it'll be declared safe after a day or two of testing.
