Official 2011-2012 NBA Season thread

Geez, what's with the OKC hate? Guys have certainly paid their dues, atleast they worked and initiated contact to get the calls, (the S-Jax thing was dumb) and they still hot big shots down the stretch. One of those chilling passing of the torch moments, y'know. Westbrook clobbering Leonard was pretty funny
Trying to think whose offense is worse, on 1 hand you have a team whose point guard will either half the time take more shot attempts than the best player on the team and scoring champion or dribble the balls for about 18 secs then gets bailed out by lucky chucks. Then you have another team who only have 2 players of any relevance go iso every other possession try to shoulder tackle into 3 defenders and get bailed out by foul calls. Stern is going to get his wish for his superstars finals for all the bandwagon casual fans to enjoy, unless Advanced has some voodoo dolls to thwart it. I rather see Rondo than Westbrick anyday.

Also, YAK YAK
I'm certainly not going to argue with you, but c'mon man. You're sounding like Skip Bayless.

Bayless will occasionally pull a cogent thought of out his ass. renique is just out in space.
It's all the Laker's fault... they had no business letting OKC get Fisher away from them. To me that was the final piece.
Lakers traded Fisher to Houston.
Fisher received a buyout.
Thunder signed Fisher.

No "letting OKC get Fisher away from them" happened.

I think people like myself in the Pacific NW dont like OKC...since the team was taken from Seattle. Besides maybes its time for James to get his ring. All honesty, if its OKC vs Boston I dont really care who wins, it would be nice to see Boston win one more as OKC is still young.

Even if OKC wins they need to trade Perkins/Collison. I guess keep Fisher since he's probably pretty cheap. Heat will need to get a better center or just start Bosh there.

Its because Horry was a role player, and that's what they do (move around a lot). Its when superstars or near-superstars force their way out people have problems.

I forgot about Horry what a clutch player. Currently in the NBA, Kobe and Fisher have 5 rings. Duncan has 4. Who all has 3 that's still playing? Parker and Ginoboli? Anyone remember Horace Grant?

Good god Celtics can't buy a basket even if it was on sale meanwhile James has one of the flukiest jump shot games i've seen yet as if he was Durant or Kobe. Advanced you have failed me.

I kind of thought we'd be do for a stinker after playing four decent games of ball. Still got hope the Cs can pull it out in 7. Saturday is going to be tough.

They couldn't make layups or open shots. You can live with LeBron getting his 40 points but you have to at least make your easy baskets, maybe even hit an open 3 or two.

Lol Espn already on Lebron's nuts. Now all of sudden Boston is old because they missed wide open shots. Other than his drives to the basket James couldn't replicate that jump shooting performance 4/5 times even if he tried

Yep, ESPN in full "Lebron is a god" mode.
Dear LeBron,

You missed 7 shots tonight. Not clutch bro.
Thats funny.

I used to love watching First Take because when it was actual discussion but god damn is it horrid now.

The stage is set for Sterns wrath no way in hell he's allowing Miami to lose at home. Glad Doc Rivers called out everyone though on all this BS Lebron nonsense.

Hard to argue given some of the calls we're seeing on the Celtics this half.

Stern's instructions must've been to take KG out of the game with ticky tack calls because thats exactly what they're doing. These are things that don't get called in game 7 of the regular season let alone the playoffs.

I've never seen that 3rd foul called. I'm not even sure what the hell the foul was.

You know you're in trouble when even ESPN is saying, "thats technically a foul BUT... I haven't seen that called in 15 years"

LOL Miami going into the locker room at half time "SOMEBODY WIPE THE fuckIN FLOOR HERE MAN! EVERYTIME!":lol::lol: And why did Wade kiss Lebron's mom, and first?

It's funny that people are using the ref card on Miami, yet this game I've seen more calls in favor for the Celtics.

People like to make excuses for their team in the off chance that they don't succeed. Typical...

lol @ boston getting the calls you mean the one pierce just got for riding lebron but don't call on chalmers riding rondo the same way very next play? the thumbs up lebron showing up the refs not getting a t? hanging on the rim for 15 secs giving a slight kick to rondo isnt a t? wade contorting his body flopping when the only thing that was touched was his arms? Bass not getting a and 1 on the fast break dunk. lets not act like Boston is getting away with a lot of shit like the Thunder did against the spurs.

I have no idea what game you're watching, but it's not this one.

Paul Pierce isn't going to get anything called his way tonight, Bron Bron or Wade get bailed out every time with a whistle in those situations.

No he is not because he is the biggest flopper in the NBA. He should never get a call. This is the same guy who went out in a wheelchair and then came skipping back several minutes later.

Sigh refs are sitting right there and watches as wade drives hesitates while palming the ball then drives again. travel? whats those again?

As bad as the officiating was in the first half, the Celtics came out with a seven point lead. Them losing tonight won't have anything to do with the refs, the Heat just got ridiculously hot. I'm not sure how you defend Chris Bosh raining 3s and Lebron hitting 30-footers.

Hijack City probably sweeps Miami if this is their best game.

No shame in the Celtics going out like that, they had no business going 7 as depleted as they are.

No doubt Celtics getting cold again but to tell you the truth after that Indiana debacle Miami has no business even being in the ECF to begin with but Pacers/Celtics wouldn't be that much of a draw to Stern. What a shitty finals sigh

So when can we talk about the C's choking so hard their throats should break? This is the the 2nd time they have decided to not be able to hit a single point for extended amounts of time to close out a game....

Choke choke choke choke choke.

Rondo and KG pull a bitch move and leave before the game is even over? I hope they get ripped apart by the media because you know if Bron even forgets to give the waterboy daps he is branded the worst player in the world.

NBA Finals are set

Thunder vs Heat

Could we as Basketball fans ask for a better NBA Finals? Im not a fan of neither team, but I realize the finals games and ratings will be through the roof. The other playoff teams would not of made a good finals.

Spurs- Boring too watch, does not have that it factor, great coach though

Mavericks- Too old, owner broke up the team this season to clear cap room next season for Darren Williams, will be much more complete next season.

Bulls- No Rose, no Thank you!

Pacers- Good assembly of Good players, no star power.

Celtics- Old, past their prime, except Ronda this dude is fantastic.

Thunder- Fast, young, athletic, Star power in Durant, Westbrook, and Hardin. Just an exciting team to watch, clearly the best team in playoffs after they annihalated Spurs.

Lakers- This is one team that needs more pieces to make a viable run in the playoffs.

The finals will really put alot of pressure on Lebron James shoulders, can he become clutch? Will he get that ring?

Tons of story lines for the finals.

I will pick Thunder in 6 games.

Come on Dafoomie...let it go. Your team choked 2 games away in blow out fashion. Didnt we just have this talk when I asked why Boston gets so much praise when they havent actually dont anything?

You cant both take all the happy and none of the sad. Choke, Choke, Choke.

Lots of hating going around in here. But thats par for the course you guys have been doing it all season.

That was a classy ending for everybody involved. You could feel the 'last hurrah' vibe from the Cs, and I gained a lot of respect for Lebron after that. I think he's matured into a much classier dude than he was. I have OKC in 5 or 6.

Classy? Rondo and KG didnt even stay until the end of the game...they left with about 30 seconds left and was seen walking toward the locker room.

See.......if Bron did that you all would be busting a nut over that.
