Official 2012 Yard Sale Thread
i hit a nice TG16 lot for cheap in early 2011 in your area :)
Wait are you the guy I met at BestBuy with the gogamer shirt? I am not good with names.
nope.
I sent you a pm. I don't think we are in the same area. An internet search of your id says you are not near me assuming the information is correct.

I'll be pissed if I missed a turbografix lot though.

Ugh two yard sales tomorrow, each advertise video games, each start at the same time and state no early birds but they're 30 minutes away from each other. I hate making decisions, because if I go to one and stuff is overpriced or just not worth it I'm going to beat myself up for not going to the other one first.

I hit a bunch this morning but only one worthwhile sale and it wasn't even great... the one did have a bunch of PS1/PS2 games, grabbed Ape Escape, Spyro 1 and Gran Turismo 2 for 3 bucks. Meh. Spyro will make me a few bucks but meh. The other two are for me, didn't have them, now I do. Besides that... saw two Gamecube sports games, an overpriced PS2 controller and a stack of 09 and 08 PS3 sports games. GREAT day, lol. Hopefully the pawn shop I hit on the way to work will be better. It'd almost have to be.

On a more positive note... sold 3 items I paid a grand total of $14.00 for for $108.00 on Ebay in the last 3 days. I also have another item that I bought for $10.00 up to $60.00 already with a few days left and me hoping it'll go at least to $80.00. So not a bad week all in all. Those funds will pay for my casino trip tomorrow night.

i'm not sure what you searched, or where it said i lived, but we are somewhat nearby....not in the exact same spot though.
Community center yard sale slated for tomorrow has 2 different videogame ads on Craigslist. Guess I'll go!
better get there early!

Wow another week and absolutely fucken nothing. Every time I ask I get told I just missed the games. I did see Superstar Sage for the GBA. Woman wanted $10..........

Another fucking YARD FAIL for us.

I am calling these shitty sales yard FAILS, they are not sales, they are fails.

Of course if I wanted dirty panties, they would be pure win.

Next week though, I got a good feeling about the community sale.
Tune in Saturday to see if I get pissed again or not.

Went to that community sale this morning.

Didn't buy anything, but one guy had a bunch of NES and SNES games. Some of the NES games were boxed. Idea of some of his prices: he was asking $45 for Blaster Master and $5 for a cart only Bart vs. Space Mutants.

Rest of the sale was pretty lame. No vinyl records. Glad it only cost $1 for admission.

Only went to about 8 sales or so; I'm recovering from strep and still feel rough but decided I wouldn't waste a Saturday morning off. Got this at the first sale:

Paid $10 for the N64 and games, $1 for the 360 controller.

$13 total at an unadvertised sale. Sucks that Paper Mario's label is torn, but will go in the collection for now. Passed on a few systems, there was a SNES with hookups and 3 controllers for $25; I should've haggled down to 15 or 20 but it was dirty and I really don't need another system right now. Also saw a jungle green N64 for $30, but with no matching controller, jumper pak, or the cover, I had to pass.

Nice find on that N64 bundle. I got one myself today but for $20

Went to a community yard sale 30min before open, gated community guard wasn't there, eventually made it back to that sale 20min after opening. It was a really good sale actually, a lot of variety.

Ill update later with pics, I got some good gaming pickups. But my favorite picks this week were non gaming.

Went to a sunday only with video games advertised today. I must have gotten there seconds too late because when I asked about the box of NES and Master System games the woman said shes holding them for "that woman over there". I went over near her and started looking at some other stuff and I could hear her describing things to search on ebay over the phone with someone. I was really tempted to tell the people running the sale that she was just going to resell it and that I would take it to a good home, but I held my tounge :/ It pisses me off that the competition isnt even other people who actually fucking play the games and appreciate them. If it was some 25 year old guy/girl who wanted to play I wouldn't have felt so bad about being late, but this just....... UUUUGHHH I guess I'll just have to beat her next week ;)

That's what I run into now more than anything (or the same thing with mobile phones)

You can:

1) move on
2) call them out "So what are the games selling for on Ebay?!"
3) call them out to the seller..."Maybe you should look these up on ebay before you sell them" (If I don't get the games, nobody will!)
4) tell the seller how much you are disappointed and how you would actually play the games
5) Ask how much and add to the offer
Address, please.
I was thinking the same thing.

Must be going to yard sales in Japan.
Address, please.
Pretty much any yard sale I have gone to in the Charleston - Huntington Area in WV. Poca was especially bad.

Had a good weekend, got some gaming stuff but my best finds were non gaming.

Has all hookups, the pictured pokemon guide came from a different purchase. Paid $20 with everything in picture, plus games from next two pictures.

The game with glare is starfox 64

Paid $11 for the top row. Games are GTA 4, donkey kong land, killer instinct, and turok. And paid $10 for pokemon with that guide. Its complete with manual, some pokemon travel card or something, as well as the wireless adapter.

This was a really cool find, one of my favorite this week. Got both for $5.00
The Catan has all pieces, and the monopoly wooden chest game is brand new never opened. Anyone know anything about it btw? Ive been researching and I can't find it anywhere. I can find a similar model that has monopoly clue and 6 games, which goes for around $60. But I can't find anything on the model I have with sorry, except for instructions for it.

My brother got a cool find, unopened brand new tom tom ease for $2
Got two WW2 hardcover books for $2. Desk lamp for $1. Nice clock for $2

And my best find, which I barely managed to pick up. Was a complete patio set for $5.00
Included 4 chairs, nice glass patio table with center hole for umbrella. Cast iron umbrella stand, and a Sunbrella umbrella, which is a very nice brand. It retails for $170 new.
I thought it was just the table for $5, but started talking and she said it was everything. I looked around and saw some flea market resellers eyeballing it, just told he I would buy it and handed her the money. Didn't have a truck, had to get my uncle to help me bring it all home. While I was talking to here, 3 people asked about buying it. Cleaned up very nice.

I appreciate the non-gaming find posts . . . everybody should bring up some of their other finds.

I picked this up for a few bucks about 1 month ago . . .

Sold it yesterday for $80 on Amazon . . . got a feeling it might have brought more around the holidays.

This is a typical game find :whistle2:( One lone item at a table.

.25 for a network adapter disc (with slim system manual) . . . I can put this in with a network adapter that I was thinking of selling

Why can't I get a great N64 bundle?

Saw this for $20 . . . guy accepted $10 (I thought he'd push for $15)

8, yes 8 different sales are represented in the next pic.

Prices are hard because they were often part of bundles (books, DVDs, or CDs included). Oblivion was under $2 . . . I was surprised to get the coin--my second this season. N64 wrestling was .25. PS1 discs were .25 (I have a discless SOTN case and manual from a thrift). $4 for Eternal Darkness, $2 for Sega Rally, $1 for sealed Dora, $1 for Barbie, $3 for Eternal Poison (complete with both discs). I could've included Sims 3 for 360 but I sold it already.

I wanted Sunshine and MP5 and would've paid $4 for them . . .

Paid $5 for the whole bundle . . . DC is complete, GC is just the sys.

This was a nice surprise . . . not pictured are PS3 Black Ops and MW3

Paid $55 for all . . . BO and MW3 I sold yesterday for $25 each.

I was going to pass this sign but drove out of my way to fiund 3 sales in a cul-du-sac. First one had:

Asked if it was $10 for all but the dad said it was $10 each . . . paid $15 for all.
Across the street found these:

Paid $10 for all

Got these for $1 each . I know some aren't worth much but I got those for myself to play, they also had a bunch of other sports titles I passed on. Kicking myself for passing up Ace Combat 6 with flight stick they had for $10.

I see at least $140 in value (depends on condition of discs) . . . fucking awesome for $15.

You passed up on this?

Was it in box?

Wow.

I had this one 2 years ago:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006D3QO8

I stumbled on the controller in a garage (no other gaming stuff in sight) and would passed on it but I noticed some logos on it . . . paid $2. I dug out AC5 and it tested great . . . I added AC4 and sold it for $120 on Amazon.

I wouldn't find it surprising if the seller was a disgruntled mother. Lol.

Yeh that's the one,No it wasn't in box. I was going to go back but figured it had been snatched up already.

Highschool kids but the mom priced the games. I heard the mom say to one of them "it's for charity" . I think they told her it was too cheap.

Found the following today:

NES Blaster Master cart only
SNES Nobunaga's Revenge cart only

$1 each

PS1 Resident Evil 3 complete
PS2 Dark Cloud complete
PS2 Dark Cloud 2 demo disc sealed

$1 each

Does anyone know anything about the value of the demo disc? It was received via mail.

I'm guessing zero but what kind of case is it in . . . could be nice replacement case :)
I'm guessing zero but what kind of case is it in . . . could be nice replacement case :)
That's my guess too. The case is flat, looks similar to the cover of DC2 but says "Not For Sale" and advertises a coupon for $5 off inside.

Not necessarily. I have a squaresoft demo that used to pull some decent sales.

Funny, just as I was reading this I remembered that I used to include demo discs sometimes when I sold games and I reached over to a shelf and sure enough there was the Dark Cloud demo . . . mine is open but has the wrap on it with a mailing label on the back.

The coupon is the real trip . . . good until 2003 and only at Circuit City . . .

Which takes me back to my real introduction to CAG . . . the great Circuit City $5 clearance sale in July 2004 . . . fuck I scored big at that one.

i found a shadow of the colossus demo disc sealed about a month back, and surprisingly saw one sell for 29.99 on ebay. Of course it was only one copy, but still nice to see, especially since I bought it for only 1 dollar.

That's the one I picked up yesterday :)

I got this for $8. I've been looking for it, since I got the second volume for cheap a while back.

Unfortunately, I haven't had many good finds this year. It's been pretty dry in this area for game and other good stuff. I did manage to find a Logitech Harmony 880 and a pair of Bose Triport headphones for cheap.

Picked up a very big World of Nintendo sign (neon)

3ft by 2ft - so it is pretty big. Probably weighs like 40 lbs. I paid 200 for it, so maybe I overpaid but after looking at what some of the World of Nintendo merch goes for on eBay and people on VG memorabilia site pay/ask for, I decided it was a good enough deal for me.

Sadly no place to put it yet, so it is stored at my parent's house. I should swap it out with my Virtual Boy store display. That thing is soooo big that it takes up way to much room. I could drop that off and pick up a bookshelf and put this on top of it.
Since you all are mentioning Dark Cloud. I so would like to see those PS2 games given the HD treatment like Shadow the Colossus and ICO did.
Right there with you! Dark Cloud is one of my favorite games. I can still hear the music.

So I was holding off posting this until I could add pictures, but my girlfriend broke my laptop so that may not be for awhile so here we go.

After an aggravating yard sale day saturday where rain in the morning made everyone cancel, I was driving to the flea market I set up at every week and stumbled on someone setting up their yard sale on the way there. Even though I was in a rush because spots at the flea market are first come first serve I stopped figuring I didnt get any yard sale action Saturday so a couple of minutes trying to get stuff wouldn't kill me.

So I talked to the guy, he ended up asking if there was anything I was looking for and I rattled off my list one of the things of course being video games. So he goes "Oh I have a box of Playstation 2 games I got at a yard sale but none of them work, I was just gonna throw them away but you can flip through in case you can do anything with them"

So of course I tell him I'll have a look and he brings out a milk crate of Xbox and Xbox 360 games. He said he paid $40 for the box and tried them all in his PS2 but they didn't work so he'd sell them for 25 cents each. There were 24 games so I handed him the $8 and went off on my merry way. What was in the box?

Star Wars KOTOR (PH)
Stat Wars KOTOR II x 2
Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2
Conker Live and Reloaded
Halo
Halo 2 LE
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Dead or Alive 4
Then the other 12 were cheap commons like Burnout, Soul Calibur II, etc. I also got a few Bronze Age Batman comics from him, and a 3rd edition of The Killing Joke graphic novel.

My Xbox and Xbox 360 games don't work in my PS2. I shouldn't ask questions and just sell it.

That's amazing man! Good find I guess!
