What was your complaint?

Can you just ask for a supervisor at any time?
Just my dissatisfaction with the whole thing. I expressed my frustration with my console breaking and that I was receiving a refurb instead of my original. I was polite with the whole conversation and he was more than cool to hook me up with some free stuff. You can ask for a supervisor at anytime during the conversation. That does not guarantee anything though, the first couple I talked to were real jackasses.

Well, six months since my last post here, my 2nd 360 is RRoDing. Problem is, it's being a little bitch about it. It will work for 10 minutes, then 5, then 2... I eventually got it to show me the lights, but I'm worried about sending it in like this. Will the idiots turn in on, see green, and send it back?

Never mind. It's dying like a man now.

Well, called support yesterday and the repair is done they are supposed to be shipping back soon. "Oliver" said they would email me the tracking number but was confused when I explained that have only received one of the 3 emails they sent on the status and therefore it was doubtful I would receive it. Man their customer service sucks.

Checked online and mine is STILL showing "
Repair Status: Device Received at Service Center"

It's been like that for almost 3 weeks now. WTF?? I am |.| this close to selling it all when/if I get it back. I played the waiting game once already, they sent me a DeadOnArrival unit as a 'replacement,' and I'm going to have to wait again? Ridiculous.

Have you called them?
Well, I turned on my system and the screen went black then next thing I know I got the three red rings. This is funny that this happened just after I purchased a PS3.
Heh, mine did too. I had it since launch without an issue. The first weekend I got the PS3...BOOM! Been through 2 since.
Have you called them?
Yep, I've called them every 3 days or so, they tell me the same thing. Last time I called (Saturday) the guy seemed irrate that I've called so many times and brushed me off, saying I'll get an email update when it's fixed. He then went into the "Is there anything else I can help you with today?" before ending the call. I was only on the phone with him for about 3 minutes, including the info gathering portion.

Got a call from UPS yesterday and I'm supposed to get my 360 back today..I'm just praying that it will work good since it's gonna be a refurb...M$ screwed me over...

Mine said the same thing until the day I recieved the e-mail notice that it was on it's way back - then it read "no pending repair" along with a different serial number

That's what mine said at first.. "No pending repair" then it went to "received."

Got mine back today...I believe my wife signed for it. Hopefully it works....looking forward to some NCAA, demos, more and more that I missed for a month.

Got my refurb today....played some Gears and a couple demos and I noticed A LOT of skipping. Its only small amounts of skipping but sometimes it can get annoying or screw you up..some repairs huh?

How do you know when they get it and send out a new one? I checked my tracking number by UPS and I know they received it but i never got an email or anything. When I go to xbox.com to check the status (where u type in S/N, First and Last name) it says there is a problem or something. I've heard of this happening to other people as well. I don't really want to call them and sit on hold for an hr but I may have to..

Did you receive your personal 360 back or was it a refurb?

Problem is you dont know who had it first, they might have been real mean to it and Microsoft only bothers to fix the "problem" of 3 red rings. So, you know.

Called again and this time talked to a Candian with a speech impediment, at least he was nicer than the last guy. He was just a bit hard to understand at times.

He said that the repair of my console had been completed (yet one other person I talked to a week or two ago said a refurb would be geting sent out) and final testing was being done to verify I was getting a 100% working console.

I think he said to call back in 24-48 hours to get a tracking number for return shipping. We'll see. After hearing 5 different stories from 5 different people, I'll believe it when I see it.

Now I have to try to get more than 1 month of XBL out of them. This shit has been dragging for over three months since my first unit died. We have two gold accounts (Mine and the wife's) and 1 month reimbursement isn't going to cut it.
Did you receive your personal 360 back or was it a refurb?
It was a refurb as the serial number changed. I don't care, as this is my FOURTH 360 now.

Everything seems to work fine, I didn't try my LIVE games, but I may bitch if they don't work on other profiles (so I can hopefully score some free points). The DVD drive seems a bit louder though.

It was nice to have it back though....lots of stuff to download.

Got my call for delivery today, 9 business days since it was received at the repair center. Im just excited to get it before Bioshock and so I can watch the new Hard Boiled release.

Might as well join the crowd...

My 360 doesn't have the RROD, but instead of my DVD Drive is stuck. I can manually eject it, but it won't open with the eject button.

The guy I talked to on the phone couldn't even process the return request, so I have to call back in the morning. Sucks!

I just got the red lights on my 2nd console. My original was purchased in May 2006 and crapped out on me in August 2006. I've had my current one going strong since September of last year. I knew it was only a matter of time before it would happen again.
This is cute, Thanks UPS :bomb:

I don't recall ever having tracking be so fucked up before.
Its all about the Flux Capacitor my friend.
Its all about the Flux Capacitor my friend.
haha, well it is almost 10:30 and I don't have it yet, so they must have broke down somewhere between houston and here

or
they only had 1.20 jigawatts ;)

I sent my prepaid coffin out Monday but realized when doing some house cleaning I forgot to put the reference number on my console.

Question is, do I need to call and bother to tell them I forgot this or should I just roll with it.

After another call to customer service my 360 is on its way back. According to UPS tracking, I should have it Monday. Total turnaround for me will end up being 4 weeks.

Also, confirmed with CS that I am receiving a replacement refurb and not my original box. I just hope the previous owner took care of it.

I recieved my 360 back today. The whole process took 4 weeks. I don't think the refurb they sent me has the new heat sink in it though. I thought all these that they were sending out now had these in place?

The next time it breaks, it should have it ;)

I didn't even bother to check mine closely....is there a way to tell?

Got my 360 back and it's a different refurb. Basically I waited 3 weeks for this?!?

They gave me a 1 month xbox live card for my troubles. -_-

BTW, how can you even tell you have new heatsinks if you don't open up the system?

Got my coffin today. Though I'm not happy about the console breaking down, the process is pretty damn painless and I am impressed with how they give you everything you need to send it back (box, foam, tape, label). Now I just got to write a personal letter to the service technician filled with all kinds of ass smooching and brown nosing in hopes that I'll get my baby back.

Got my system back last week. MS claimed there was "tampering or attempted tampering" with the system and refused to fix it. When I call they tell me they're going to e-mail pictures of the system along with a reason why it was considered tampered with yet I never get anything. I've spent WAYYYYYY too much time on the phone with customer support.

I have never opened my system, the console is a repair system from MS that broke down. These assholes seem to be screwing me on the deal, any suggestions???

I got an email yesterday saying it has been repaired and they're sending it back to me. And while I haven't gotten it back yet, if what ups is telling me is correct, I should have it by the 7th, making my waiting period about 3 weeks. Not too bad, lets just hope it actually works.

UPS called today saying that they are going to deliver it tomorrow and that someone would have to be here to sign for it. Can't wait to play some more of The Darkness and all of the E3 demos that I missed out on.

Well I am on my second 360 and I have had it for about 6 months ( so I am still under warranty). I use the nyko intercooler on my 360 and the other day I got the red ring of death. After turn the console off and on many times and getting it over and over again I left it alone for a day. Then tryed again and got the same conclusion. I then took my intercooler off and it work fine. I have played it for a day now with no problems if the intercooler is not connected, but if it is I get the red ring. I believe it is a power problem after reading that the red ring is due to the 360 having problem with the power differences and in result turning off its cooling fan. Anyone else have this problem with the intercooler? Think I should send it to MS again?

UPS screwed me with a rescheduled delivery till tomorrow. Weirdly since I know I will have it before Bioshock, all I want to do is watch Hot Fuzz and Hard Boiled upconverted.
Intercooler story
If you mention that you used an intercooler, they will say you voided your warranty and won't repair your system.

Did you say...Hot Fuzz?

Did you ever know that you're my herooooooooooo, you're everything I wish I could beeeeeeeeeeeeee I can fly higher than an eagllllllllllllllllllleeeeee......

I got mine back on Tuesday. Called on the 5th. Received the coffin on the 9th, sent it out on the 10th and they received it on the 13th of July. Also included 1 month of Xbox Live attached to the plastic around the console.

So far so good with the refurb unit. Considering the serial number on the refurb unit was lower than the one I sent in (picked up on launch date), I don't have much faith that this one is going to last for the long haul, but we'll see what happens. I'm just happy I have it back in less than a month.

That's bullshit. They've had mine since the 13th and I have yet to get any real update on it. Everyone knows the story, so I won't reiterate it again.

UPDATE: Called again today and now I'm told it's not finished, at least it's not showing that in the system. Most likely the last person I talked to was feeding me a line of shit, just like everyone else I talked to.

I have just about had it with m$. I already know I'm not going to get reimbursed the whole amount of XBL I'm being screwed out of, on top of it all.
If you mention that you used an intercooler, they will say you voided your warranty and won't repair your system.
Even tho the intercooler is outside accessory and a widely avaliable at retail stores.

Seems sort of weird that that would void the warranty. Wouldn't that also mean that any outside accessory would void the warranty.

And they (MS) would be wise to post this and/or make the intercooler people put a disclaimer on it... because something that does not modify your console and complies with FCC regulations (isn't unlicensed here in the states, I mean) is not capable of being able to "void" a warranty.

It's like putting tint on your car windows and Ford refusing to fix your car. :) They won't warranty the tint (and no one is expecting MS to honor an intercooler warranty), but the rest of the car/xbox... I'd go with a yes. ;)

i got the "repair completed" email on saturday and the serial number listed is the same as what I sent them..questions

1. Does this mean they're shipping me the same console with the heatsink?
2. How long does it take for them to ship it after sending out the "repair completed" email? Can I expect it to go out on Monday?
