In for the Dragon Quest CE thing.  Looks kinda stupid fun.  Squenix Store Exclusives often end up hard to come by after awhile, so better to lock one down now and cancel later if it looks like it'll be shit.

What was the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 CE priced at? This is about the same (and the KH one sold out).

 
Hmm..I'll pass on the DQ CE. Easier for me since it's more of a Dynasty Warriors kind of game rather than an actual standard RPG which if it was, I'd probably get. ^_^

 
Damn, what's with all the crappy CEs lately? Mostly, I'm referring to Dragon Quest and many of the other JP niche games.  It feels like they're preying on JRPG fans that buy everything.  They're not even trying anymore with these CEs.

During the PS3/360 genre I decided in an effort to be wiser with my money, I'd only purchase one of the consoles, and thus limit my choice of games/CEs I'd have to buy. I "chose" 360 because my friends brought one over and we played Halo 3 a bunch of times and I loved it. My wife ended up getting me one for our anniversary and so that was that. When X1 vs. PS4 were announced I had some serious qualms with both but just wasn't sure which one I was going to go with. Other than Halo and a bit of Titanfall, there hasn't been anything that makes me happy with my decision. I no longer care about achievements because of their "challenges" features, the UI is utter garbage filled with ads, my controller died after a few months of use (vs. the 360 one that lasted 3 years and MUCH more gameplay), the drive doesn't always read the discs, and the console is unresponsive most of the time, and most importantly THEY HAVE NO jRPGS!!

The other thing that nags me, is that I've got PS1 and PS2 games and love many of them (especially FF), but never had any Xbox games, so its really just the 360 that I enjoyed (before they killed the UI). Maybe I should just cut my losses, see if anyone wants to trade my X1 CEs for their PS4 CEs and get out while its still early? I dunno...


Anyway, TLDR; wife bought me a 360, I didn't want to buy both consoles, made dumb decision that achievements > rpgs, stuck with xbox1.

Knight if I was you I'd wait a couple of weeks then cut & run toward PS4. New 1 TB model is being introduced at E3.

Not only will you get the JRPG's, but the western ones will perform better on PS4 vs. XB1.

Will suck to miss out on Platinum's new IP (unless it's online only,) Tomb Raider at launch, & Quantum Break, but what's on PS4 only makes up for it for me.

Unless there's a real difference with the rumored 1TB PS4 versus the current 500GB model save hard drive size, I'd just wait for the 500GB model to drop in price and then pick up a 2TB hard drive to do a drive upgrade.

No he should wait until the persona 5 ps4 special edition comes out. Because seriously there are no jrpgs of note on ps4 out right now or soon. And games performing better is negligible.

Isn't the new Tales game coming out on PS4 also? Plus those style of games definitely aren't showing up on XB1 anyway.

Sure it's coming to it eventually, but without even a release date, you can't call that coming soon. He has no reason to switch right away, no jrpgs right now, so he can wait for a good sale like Black Friday, or a special edition.
Plus people in japan seem to not like the new tales. The first heavyweight jrpg to come will be persona 5.

Wow.  So I was able to OMS a Witcher 3 CE (XOne) yesterday afternoon at Best Buy.  It arrived today on my doorstep.  Which was great.  Unfortunately, the geniuses at the warehouse decided to not send the item in a shipping box.  Not so great.  Seriously, someone thought it would be cool to slap a shipping invoice on the side of the CE box and send it out for delivery.  Needless to say the box was beat up pretty good.  I'm actually a little surprised it isn't in worse shape as it was raining all day at my house, and the UPS driver decided to leave it on my doorstep.  Thankfully there was a little protection from the overhang.  I'm also thankful my next door neighbor is a 70 year old woman and that you can't see my porch clearly from the street as the box was basically an advertisement for a high priced electronics item.

So did anybody else's OMS orders of the Witcher 3 CE arrive that way, or was my copy from the only warehouse that was full of lazy clueless bastards?

Well mine came packaged in the manufacturer box, which is a tight fit, inside another box with a several air packets but not enough because one corner received a heavy blow that transferred to the CE box. Unluckily it was a top corner and that nice box which holds the artbook and other items absorbed just enough of the damage to round its corner with a subtle crease so I was pretty disappointed finding that out upon opening it!

 
For those if you that were thinking of waiting to OMS the imperial edition of ESO, when I tried today it said it was not orderable. In comparison, the Witcher CE would let you place an OMS order a week before release (but you couldn't finalize it in POS). So I wouldn't rely on OMS if it appears other places
 
I thought instead of just returning the Witcher 3 to Walmart I'd check on craigslist to see if anyone wants it at cost. After a few offers of 50 - 80 dollars I guess I will be brining it back.

 
I really like the Fallout 3 CE.  The lunchbox, art book, and bobblehead hit all the right buttons for useless stuff to clutter my shelves  :D/

I also got the bottle opener from Best Buy's preorder (remember BBs physical preorder bonuses; those were the good ol' days)

Haha. True, but they used to mix it up (bottle opener for Fallout 3, coasters for Fallout NV, art book for Dead Space). I'm sure there were other non-Steelbooks, but I'm drawing a blank. I vote for quirky bonuses and just put the Steelbooks in the CE.

EDIT: I admit that I'm not familiar with figurines, so maybe that is a good value?
