I've decided to place my bloodborne ce order through bestbuy.com and chose free release day shipping. Hopefully everything goes well.

Out of all the retailers that sell games, they probably come the closest to all CE/LE games. But in order for them to take my business away from Best Buy they would need to do these things:

  • Take 20% or so off new games as discussed
  • Offer better incentives for purchasing (i.e., points and the things you can spend them on) outside of owning their credit card, like bonus points or ShopKick points
  • Offer PRICE MATCHING
  • Offer cart blanche free shipping (like with Elite or Elite Plus).
Even if they did all these things, they probably still wouldn't get 100% of my gaming dollar because with all the other things available to buy at Best Buy (movies, appliances, electronics) I am already a regular shopper there. As it is now, I only go to GameStop if they have something I need that no one else has.

One thing GameStop has over Best Buy is what you can buy with your reward points...THAT is tough to beat!

Gamestop will never do any of this mainly because they can't. It would break their business model in so many ways.

Gamestop's main money maker is buy low/sell high for used games. Offering 20% off new games would destroy their used game prices. Along with the fact that margins are razor thin for new games anyway, every game sold would effectively be a loss (even if they made more money selling it than they did buying it, cost of rent/employees/overhead would mean it's a loss).

Best Buy can do it because they sell lots of other things. GS will never do it. They will also never price match because of the same problem. GS wants to buy used games and sell them. Anything that makes someone buy a new game from GS is against their business model.

EDIT: They could improve their rewards system and could offer free shipping for loyal customers, but those things wont change how much better Best Buy is. The only thing GS has going for it is an ignorant customer base. Most people don't even know about GCU or are confused by what you actually get.

Just a quick question Im gonna leave. At work and cant verify through MS. If I buy the UK Collector's Edition of DragonBall Xenoverse, smh non-UK release, can I still play it on my US console?
 
Huh, do Nintendo fans just love buying Nintendo products or something? Just by whim I searched up on ebay for the fire emblem awakening 3DS bundle and learned used consoles are selling for like 150. That's kinda absurd considering the normal 3DS XL bundles are not $200ish

Yea well the new ones are over $300+. My wife's a huge fire emblem fan and wanted one. But not when it cost almost as much as a ps4 nowadays

If you really want I'll sell to you, its got the case and a slightly beat up art book and everything. It's just funny cause I was thinking of selling the thing to GS for $50 when I got my Pokemon Y 3DSXL, now I don't even want to know how pricey that is now...

wouldn't you the guy that got like 3 + sony wireless gold headset, and 6+ assassin creed liberation white vita bundle from target clearance for 50% off, sell some of that to cover the cost, and get a new one.

Lol, 6 Assassins Creed Vitas??? I probably go buy the lottery if I found that many. No I found 1 vita on the last day of that sale by pure luck which I currently use for remote play on with my ps4. I did get 6 headsets if that's what you were thinking. But only two were for me to do as I please to build my gaming fund. As for the Fire Emblem 3ds, my wife would've wanted one as a collector item, but there's also other things she rather have more for that price.

No it's cheap garbage that you CAN find elsewhere for cheaper. I have over 200,000 points and I equate 1,000 points to $1 since you can effectively redeem 50,000 points for $50 in GS credit.

However most of their shit can be bought for less on Amazon if you use the ratio I provided above.

You should see the price of the Zelda and Pikachu systems. Plus there's already a resellers market for the NES and Persona Q systems, which are still available.

I wanted to get that Persona 3ds when it came out but I didn't really see the point since the n3ds isn't too far off and I am already satisfied with my Pikachu XL. Looking forward to the Nintendo Direct on Wednesday though.

I ordered mine way back when it was first announced As long as my order isn't canceled I am a happy camper.

Keeping a eye out for a FFXV collectors KHIII also Tales of Zestiria

though I am unsure if that will come to the U.S I know the standard edition will.

I don't know about this year. Last I heard, and this was late last year, is that they were still making planets. I can't fathom a 2015 release date. If it is, AND done well. I will jump for joy, and then run naked everywhere.

That's crazy stuff though. The Fire Emblem I sorta get because that was when the system was arguably shit but weren't the Pikachu and Zelda one's the cheapeast 3DSXL's when they came out?

We are only 15 hours away from the Nintendo announcement.... oh boy am I excited.

On another note. I am just seeing this FF type O collectors edition for the first time. Is this something worth collecting? If so, I will go ahead and lock one in at square enix before it's gone. But is it limited or does it seem to be pretty well stocked?

Very limited sold out fast at Best Buy. I would've ordered one with GCU.

Don't buy anything you wouldn't want to keep and own anyways. You're going to fall into the collector's trap if you don't

 
Does anyone know where is it still available to pre-order the Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Collector's Edition, I barely recovered from all the holiday sales this week and can't seem to find any place having them and Squere Enix sight hangs when creating an order. XBone or PS4 is fine with me.
