Big fan of Hotline Miami, but idk if i can justify $74 shipped for a digital game w/ 3 records.  Maybe if it was a physical copy for PS4 or something.

I got LE and was faced with the same dilemma, but decided to keep it in the end. Too much love for that series and the many it influenced to get rid of it. I'm also slowly not caring about flipping anything I get but still being enamored with rare/valuable items. I had every intention of selling that Smash Wii U bundle but seeing it sell out made me keep it. Same thing is happening with the MMLE and MMn3DS, and more or less the aforementioned cowboy bebop LE. I must be starting to feel as if increasing the in herent value of a collection will in the end have a bigger impact than the couple hundred dollars at most you'll make flipping whatever.

Yeah, but I also order the Amazon LE (since it's always smart to preorder first and cancel later which help me locked in the $70 price). I've preorder both of them (before Funimation even announced the # of prints, and went up in price) and was going to cancel one of them since I couldn't decide which version I like more.

Of course, after the limit was announced, I kept both of my order and decide what to do after I get them. I decided to keep the Amazon version, and sell the Funimation (it looks really nice but the art cards and nice case wasn't enough to justify keeping it).

I remember when Ni No Kuni LE was first announced and they had this whole "kickstarter" thing for preorders. For some reason, most people didn't heed the warning nor bother to preorder. It was only once the preorder was closed after the kickstarter thing did people start freaking out. I can't understand why some people wait until so close to release to preorder.

But I digress, I've preorder 2 copies of MM LE (since I had an order with Amazon but BB came out of the left field and I had to use my GCU discount), and the MM n3DS XL. As for the MM LE, the chance of me reselling that is really low, and for my second copy, I've already got a coworker who's willing to buy off me which I'll probably sell to him at cost.

The MM n3DS XL, I'm not sure yet. I don't like the XL but XL is the only one being offered in NA. Regardless, I have the regular Zelda 3DS, ALBW Zelda 3DS XL, Zelda WW WiiU, and would have felt incomplete without the MM n3DS.

 
Next time something like the Majora's Mask LE is expected to go up for preorder, create a deal alert on Slickdeals. You can set keywords and ratings thresholds and get email alerts. For items that are available for less than 15 minutes, yeah you'll probably miss out, but there was plenty of time to order from Best Buy if you got an alert.

It's not too late to create an alert- from what I understand, there will be additional supply at launch, and it will save you the headache of running around/calling stores.

Looks like we'll agree to disagree on this point. Putting the limit on information to try and limit the evil neckbeards cleaning things out isn't going to be stopped by trying to limit information in here.

 
Can't really think of many potential CE's I'd be that interested in going forward aside from Final Fantasy XV, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Persona 5. Doubt Persona gets one, though. The former two may. Either way, announcements of CEs from either would be months down the line. I'm still skeptical of all of them coming out in NA 2015 in the first place.

Did anybody that got either of the N3DS LEs on GS.com pay with trade credit or a giftcard? Both the ones I used show a full balance, so I assume it's not like best buy where they take the funds off the gift card immediately? Can anybody enlighten me because I want to make sure my credit is used instead of my credit card.

Also, on a separate note I was able to pre-order a Red N3ds XL at BBY today in store with one of the tickets printed off at the kiosk. Didn't even see a listing for the MM LE (which I figured would be the case), the minimum deposit is $25 and no GCU obviously, but somebody would ask.

Damn, that's pretty cool.

Not sure I'd order a import system (because it would be more of a headache than it's worth if there's a problem with it).

That color would have been perfect for a Bloodborne system though, too bad they (apparantly) arent doing anything for Bloodborne. Wonder when the next limited console would hit the US? Seems like Sony hardly does this for the U.S.

I preordered the Zelda Monopoly game with trade credit and the money was not removed. I assumed it had so I ended up spending the rest of that card before release. I never got the game and the transaction is in limbo.

So no, they don't take your credit when you order.

Idk about Persona 5. I mean there was P4Golden LE, PersonaQ LE, Persona 3 Artbook and Soundtrack version. its possible P5 LE would happen and if so... they will take my money.

They actually do take gift card/trade credit as payment. The weird thing is for pre-orders, they treat it kinda like a credit card. I think they check if your cards can cover the balance, then its paid for near release. The problem is the balance of cards don't change until near release, so you need to remember not to use those cards or make sure there is enough to pay the balance.

I suggest just going in-store to pre-orders if you use cards because the payments are made right then.

Maybe they'll release a first run LE... with like a soundtrack and artbook or something, but I doubt we'll get an actual CE. But it's possible.

I'm actually expecting a LE/CE for P5 too. As much as I love them, and hate admitting it, Atlus has been doing a lot of cash grabs lately, so I can't imagine them passing up the extra money on one of their biggest series. Plus like Oregon mentioned, they have been releasing a special edition for most of the Persona series. Of course this is a biased opinion tho lol, since I really want to see a nice CE for P5. I'm hoping they do a red steelbook with the image from the teaser splash page (the chairs and balls and chains).

i bet newegg is just building their own bundle consisting of the mario amiibo and the game, you won't get the LE box. their product wording is wrong anyways, the amiibo with the mario party 10 LE is not exclusive to that package, its the exact same amiibo you will can buy for msrp and is being released the same day as mp10

Mine came in about the same condition as the CEs I get from Amazon and BB on average, not great, not terrible. GS, in spite of other CS issues I have with them, do manage to get their CEs to me in better condition on average than the rest.

Yeah, GS really does seem to have a better track record for shipping CEs.

Yeah, the packing job was actually better than what I usually get from Amazon.

Even more surprisingly for me, stuff from Digital River came in better condition on average than Amazon, BB, and my limited experience with Pepita even though the packing job didn't really look any better. Maybe I just had better luck with their chain of carriers not abusing the package.
 
I remember ages ago, you had to log on to CAG to see the deals page. If you weren't approved, then you can'y view deals. Worked good for awhile until more people signed up for CAG, and posted the deals ala SD or FW. I don't know if posting a deal to select few would work. The only way I see it if CAG, got a Insider membership where signing up for $20/year gets you exclusive access to deals on a "private" forum for a few hours before being released to the mass public. That could deter more lurkers, flippers, but than again CheapyD relies on web hits to get revenue. Why doesn't Cheapy adopt GAF's model of havinf ads on the site to generate revenue instead of just hits.

CAG main source of income is people buying through referral links, so you idea won't work.

Yes. Mine came in a large box with no padding whatsoever IIRC and there are numerous reports of damaged boxes

LOL. This is why I love CAG and IMHO most of the complaints are more of a reflection of the OCD buyer then the manufacturer.

Also, if the product is damaged because the shipping box is damaged why are we blaming anyone but the shipping carrier?

This is coming from someone who had no issue with his two KH 2.5 CE's.

And let's not forget they have or are in the process of sending out replacement boxes.

yes damages happen cause of poor handling by the carriers used but also keep in mine it the sellers responsibility to package well to minimize those damages. Otherwise if shipping damages are held toward the shippers only and not the retailers there selves then honestly retailers might as well just say screwed boxes and ship small CE and LE in plain vanilla envelops and send big CE and LEs as is with just a shipping label on the side

And since LEs and CEs do cost more then standard games it should be a given that extra care is given vs if it was a cheaper vanilla copy
