Nelson even says the status is "polystone". There is no way that a videogame CE statue is polystone. I'll believe that when I see it. Really, I can't think of a statue included with a video game CE that was high quality. Some are better than others, but none are comparable to something you'd get outside of a videogame CE. You aren't going to get something "worth" much. The price difference between the normal game and the CE is $90. Given that there's a soundtrack, a large art book, and a few other things included, you're basically paying for what you get when it comes to the "statue".

That outer box is just begging to be destroyed during shipping.

I feel like Geralt's legs are in very unnatural positions. From some angles, it looks like more of a centaur/griffin hybrid than a man on top of a griffin.

From the video you can see that the statue is heavier and you can hear when his hands brush against the statue that it is solid. I'm excited for the CE, now I just hope I can end up with one. :)

Yes, it sold out long ago, back when it was supposed to release shortly after the PC version. Nobody is sure if it will be back or not before release.

I can't "see" the statue is heavier. There is no way you're getting a polystone statue for that price.

Amazon has had it up for weeks. I'll be shocked if Best Buy doesn't take orders again. I'm guessing that, as usual, BB is just way behind.

Well of course not LITERALLY see it is heavier because it's not on a scale. But the way he's handling it leads me to believe it is heavy enough and therefore high enough quality for me.

Best Buy rarely reopens preorders for CEs, at least since GCU has become pretty common. They seem to only order a small allocation of CEs for .com sales and when they go, they go, even if other retailers continue to have them in stock.

 
I'm a statue expert!! The witcher statue looks pretty good for the price and material. It's got good size and detail to it. Not the best face on Geralt and the hair on the griffon could be better. But still pretty good. I prefer my bishoujo figures though :)

If you want to see a shitty collectors edition statue then look at bravely default.
 
Good news and bad news. Good news is im moving, bad news is one room has a massive bookhelf for a wall. Which means i need cool witcher statues and shit. God damn it.

Which I find confusing since they don't even offer a Wii version on their site.

 
I don't know if it's common knowledge but I believe the Wii version will be packaged with all first print versions of the WiiU version at ALL retailers selling it during preorder and initial release.

They are just technically selling a wii u version and 3ds version and these are just remakes or finished games of the wii version and so i heard the wii version is the definitive game to play.. So in today's gaming there are not really trying sell a wii game and so i think that's why they are just advertising the wii u and 3ds version for sale and nice enough to include the wii version inside the wii u version game. Dang im so complicated sorry if you dont understand xD

The Wii version only comes with the first-print Wii U copies, not the 3DS ones according to the email. If we really want the definitive version, we'll have to go with Wii U.

Or you could just get both, which is what I plan on doing :) 3DS LE and the WiiU regular version on sale or at Best Buy.

Seeing as how I don't have a Wii U and my Wii has only been turned on in the last five years just to randomly update the firmware, I think I'm OK not having either version.

That being said, is the 3DS version of the game inferior in any way (other than the obvious graphics department)?

 
MGS V CE is now showing up at bb in the preorder kiosk, but still ringing up as not available for sale.

Also, some stores have tags printed for BFH Premium tagged as "FREE!"

There's one example of a game CE including a high quality statue that I can think of, but it wasn't polystone, and it wasn't released in NA.
 
I do believe that Witcher statue is polystone, it's been blatantly advertised as such in the CE preorders. However, I'll believe in its quality when I see it, I've seen some pretty ugly polystone statues too.

I've actually seen one of these statues in GameStop. Quality reminds me of the DSII CE statue. Doesn't look polystone to me...
