So if I understand all this info on the MGSV console, all disc based games should work fine. If I add my account to this console, all my stuff should play. The only thing is the blu Ray correct? It will only play either region free bd's or ones from whatever region France is.
That sound right?

Also, what about a dvd? Same deal as blu ray?

The console will play Region 2 DVDs and Region B BDs. The region codes for the US are Region 1 DVDs and Region A BDs. So don't expect to be able to use the console as a media player for physical formats.

Another important thing to think about is the possibility of a region locked game coming out, which happened for the PS3. Not a huge concern but definitely something to be aware of.

In recent software updates for PS4 they added the option to change region settings for dvd/bluray playback. You can change it a few times, then it locks.

Except most Blu-ray discs are region free and is easy to change regions for DVD discs.
 
damn that sucks. i watch my blurays, especially 3d movies. so i gotta worry about bluray movies, buy a power cord, worry about future region lock games, and the UI buttons X and O are swapped. Thats about it?

I actually have one of those i bought for my Cousin as a gift then he went and bought his own regular one before i could give it to him on his b-day =P So i just threw it steill sealed in the closet with my other extra systems. Im not a star wars fan at all but it is a pretty console

Game charges in British pounds and Amazon France charge in Euros, their original 364.99 pounds came out to $573, even with the discount to 319.99 pounds, it comes out to $504. Game was basically charging scalper prices and probably no one was buying. Which is why they cut the price. I highly doubt anyone can find this system for any cheaper than what Amazon.fr is charging anywhere in the world.

Does anybody think that amazon.fr will get the MGS V LE PS4 console back in stock? I've always been interested but now I finally have the funds to make it happen. Or, should I just go for amazon.es (stretching it)? I don't have enough to tie up money in both places.

Keep trying today. They were up on Wednesday all day for pre-order, then I checked yesterday and they were OOS. If you go back a few pages, there is a link to the actual item on Amazon.fr that is a better shot than the main link on their website.

 
Yep. I followed your last few pages and have page monitor setup and everything. I didn't know if that might have been the last hurrah or if they might still come back. I'm assuming when payments start getting charged, a few will show up as payments get rejected or cancelled, etc. At least I'm hoping.

My buddy had a US ps4 and lived in Japan when the PS4 died on him. He had to send it home to his mom's house before they would repair it under warranty and it was a huge pain.

 
That's weird that the special MGS V steelbook only comes with the regular bundle. You figure it would be the other way around but I guess they are trying to get rid of the older model.
 
Silly question here, but is anyone that got the MGSV ps4 worried about the warranty? Can it be purchased through my NA psn account like my other ps4? And does it really need to be shipped overseas for a warranty repair? Thanks in advance

Sony doesn't fix items out of their country of origin. My friend had an imported 2000 Vita that had the right thumbstick go haywire and it's essentially a paperweight.

Yeah I preordered one of these MGS consoles, but I cancelled it because of the warranty issue. I've already had to send my launch PS4 in for warranty work once, I decided I can't take the risk of having to send the MGS one to Europe if it happens again.

Could you get a square trade warranty for an imported ps4?

I really like that ps4, and my original ps4 has been working great. But this is a sticking point I am having a hard time getting over. Oh well, gonna have to make up my mind soon.
 
I have a Japanese PS4 mgs 5 ce pre-order that I may be willing to give up. This is the full 1:1 scale arm edition.

Basically I have to pay up front at Nippon Yassan and money is tight right now. It's not something I can cancel either (their policies are weird). Would anyone be willing to take over this pre order? Total cost may be about 350 shipped

I hope this doesn't count as re selling

I wouldn't count on Walmart for anything. Use them as a backup maybe but i certainly wouldn't make them my only hope of getting a CE i want
