Yeah, as someone who has already sent in my launch PS4 for warranty repair, I gotta agree with this. It's the only reason that I cancelled my MGS console preorder from Amazon. Looks like I might have to do it one more time before my extended warranty is up too.

I gotta think the failure rates on the newer model should be low. My current ps4 is not launch but original model. Never an issue.

With all that being said, would a square trade warranty work on an imported console? I would think yes seeing it bypasses the SCEE warranty. But really no idea.
