They often do though? More often in Europe, but Persona 5 Steelbook edition? FFXII? Yakuza Kimwami? First print editions of Atlus games?

Well I dont care for Persona or Yakuza games, and Final Fantasy 12 is another remaster. But you're right on the Atlas games, so point taken.

So what do you guys think was the WORST CE of 2017?

I dont mean if you include quality of the game, I meant worst overall value. I would imagine their were quite a few that were just too expensive with odd/lackluster inclusions to justify the purchase.

I personally think the Injustice 2 Infinity Eggs edition was the biggest letdown.

Sweet, thanks for the link. I was on the fence about getting it day one, but with the extras + 40 bucks after gcu, I'm definitely grabbing it day one now. That and the fact it works with the ps3 version. I can give my old copy to a friend to play together :)

DragonballZ FighterZ went OOS in Bandai & Namco's store. Monster Hunter World looks to be OOS everywhere now. Dissidia NT CE went OOS in Gamestop, not sure if that's a sign to come for Square's site. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet CE (with artbook & map) only seeing it In Stock at Gamestop's IT site. Sword Art Online: Limited Edition means there's a 3rd SAO CE and its exclusive to Japan. The 25th Ward limited edition bundle is Coming Soon atm on Best Buy, price has been adjusted down to $39.99. Ni no Kuni II: Prince Edition has been readded to the steelbook page. I deleted it for some reason prior. *Amazon's listing of Dragon's Crown Pro lists "Battle Hardened Edition" in the description but not in the title. I assume its not going to be the standard edition when pre-ordered. Best Buy & Gamestop also only have one listing for the game.

That listing on Best Buy and Amazon is not the bundle. Those listing are only for 25th Ward CE. The bundle includes both 25th Ward CE and Silver Case CE.

I can't find the links on NIS America now, but they had two separate listings. One was for 25th Ward CE, for $40 the other was for the bundle for $90.

I ordered the bundle directly from NIS and a second 25th Ward CE from Amazon when it was first listed at 29.99. When I try clicking on the product from the Amazon orders page I get the same "product not found" webpage that the link here in the thread gives.

Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite is the one with the infinity eggs, not Injustice 2.

For me it would probably be the Lord of the Rings $300 one. For Honor and Ghost Recon ones come close too.

the feelings on CEs like Destiny2 are merely reflective of value and demand. People would have loved that CE if it sold out quickly and was going for ~400 on the aftermarket.

I love my UCE too; the artbook and the exclusive steelbooks are excellent. My favorite piece is the art box that houses it all.

These two pieces are the last two expensive CEs I bought. Destiny 2 and FF15. I have been a lot more choosy since the start of last year, only buying the expensive CEs to games I truly love. So far, I don't regret missing anything. Ni no Kuni 2 coming up soon here is another good example.

Otherwise you can pick a few once they hit dirt cheap prices on Amazon. For instance, I wouldn't mind getting South Park and Marvel vs Capcom steelbook editions once their prices bottom out around 30-35. Which is almost assured to happen. I'm still patiently waiting on CoD: IW legacy Pro edition to drop below $60.

I got mine from MicrosoftStore.com a few days ago. For $130, it is definitely much more reasonable. Also, it just comes with a digital code for Xbox One/Windows 10, so even though it's the "PC" version, since it is Xbox Play Anywhere, it can be played on Xbox One or Windows 10.

Since it's still in-stock now, I'm curious if it will have another drop in the near future.

May or may not be as hard to get as the Bayonetta one later on. Look at how sexy it is.

I hope so, I pre-ordered the triple pack from amazon JP, but I'd rather have a nice CE here. I tried to order the 3d crystal version since we'll never get that here, but the shipping was over $200 for some reason o_O

Wow I didn't know that bayonetta 1+2 for switch was getting a special edition! Why not have one for the US. Has there been rumors about it getting a CE in the US?

Monster Hunter World is advertising a free steelbook with preorder in the latest Best Buy weekly ad.  Doesn't appear to be active on the product listing yet.

If you bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at BB with your reward zone account, they can look it up. If you get a cool CS person, they might let you have the case if they can prove you already bought the game.

 
My experience with BBY steelbooks (and probably sample size 100+ across movies as well) is that it arrives damaged >50% of the times. That proved true with the Prey and Mario Kart steelbooks.

Glad to see BB giving steelbooks with the game.  That over priced CE with no steelbook isn't very tempting, but I'm sure down with this.  And I've no issues with BB steels being damaged.

 
Great news on the MH steelbook but I noticed at checkout it isn't added per usual free add on. Anyone know if BB usually appends all orders to include free preorder bonuses later?

Speaking of which I'm still waiting for BB to add my pin preorder bonus for Ni No Kuni 2 CE that they said they would add eventually. Not super urgent since the game has been delayed but still I'd like to get it added to the order.

 
I ordered a steelbook from Amazon. de. It shipped on Dec. 15th and still hasn't arrived yet. Usually it takes about 2 weeks in my experience with them. When should I start to be concerned?

International shipping, during the busiest postal season of the year worldwide. Don't be concerned, be patient.

Around this time of year, it usually takes about a month with slow international mail. If it's not there after 5-6 weeks, then be concerned.
