I got my shipping notice at 4:30 pm, and it still says it should arrive Friday. But I’m at the end of the UPS route, I usually get them at the very end of the day, though I have received some stuff even after the “by 8 pm”. Which is still better then being rescheduled because of too many deliveries I suppose.

Octopath Traveler Wayfarer's Edition

Can't believe I slept on this title....and now I regret not getting one.  Anyone have an extra they would be willing to part with?  Or does anyone know if they MIGHT be coming back in stock (probably not but I figured I would ask lol)?  I may just settle for the regular edition in the end as I really don't need to spend $40 on extra crap lol

I cancelled mine last week, if I'd realized the book was an actual book and not just some cheap single scene I probably woulda stayed with it cuz it actually looks pretty nice

Yea, the more I look at it, while it is really nice, I just feel that it will sit in a box in my game closet lol. Might just dip and buy the regular edition and save myself a bit of cash. I downloaded the demo to make sure I like it before I do though.

I "did" see this eventually becoming available in the future because it was available for preorder for a LONG time and a bit expensive for what was in it but now that everyone sees its a pop up "book" it might be a little harder to come by but who knows with CE anymore.

 
personally I've been holding off on CE's and just waiting for them to pop up on amazon warehouse for the most part, have a like new Ni No Kuni 2 coming today so we'll see how that is once it arrives

 
I really wish they'd stop making what I'd consider -true- Final Fantasy sequels just for Nintendo. Would love to play these on PS4. :(

What else are you talking about? I'm trying to think and I can come up with the 2x Bravely games and Lost Sphere.

I was really looking forward to Lost Sphere but it got some pretty meh reviews... then the Mana remake was a complete dud so I ended up cancelled my pre-order for Octopath.

Bravely Default is exactly it. I have a 3DS. I have both games. I haven't touched them because I'd rather play them on the big screen with the PS4. Don't judge me lol!

I probably should just sell it but the GF uses it on trips from time to time heh.

The Death statue they showed in the video looked the same as this one to me.

It's been available on its own for a while, made of PVC. Based on that I'm guessing they're all PVC, but who knows.

Based on the price of the CE for that many statues I think it's safe to assume they're all PVC. If they were resin it would cost way more money

So... maybe an unpopular opinion but Bravely Default was fun for 25-something hours... and then it becomes pretty tedious/repetitive because, from what I read (since I got sick of it and stopped playing at 30 hours), it's because the 2nd half of the game is basically having you re-play the first half again. Apparently there's meaning behind it but replaying the game again isn't all that fun.

I was more or less trying to figure out what 'Nintendo only' releases Jodou was talking about... Also, I didn't mention Setsuna... Also, I think we were talking more or less about sipiritual successors, since only X and XIII got proper sequels (and maybe IV, if you could After Years).:p

got my $64 "Like New" Ni No Kuni 2 CE from AWD, it was a dinger, all items untouched and codes intact, glad I didn't pay $200 for it

 
i am debating should i cancel Valkyria Chronicles 4 collector edition.  Now that i think about it, i am nto sure if the tank and artbook with then 40 extra

Some of these indie devs should realize that you first have to become a hit, THEN make a limited edition. Bleed 2? Are you serious? Perhaps the markup is so ridiculously huge that maybe it costs nothing to make these because you can recoup costs after the 5th sale xD

Ouch. That means I'd really hate it playing on a 3DS lol. Just remembered I got the CE through Amazon who smashed my box with their extra protective bubble mailer so if I tried to sell it, I'd probably not get as much. Glad I dropped those shitters like a bad habit.

I'd be more concerned about the actual game itself, have not heard alot of good things from the asian community about the story and characters etc.
 
I ended up not canceling Octopath. I played the demo for like 10 hours, and I liked and finished Bravely Default, so I figured I'll give myself the return period to decide.

I liked Bravely Default. Even the second half some people seem to hate. It's not like it actually takes a long time for playthrough 5-7.

I've thought about giving Default another shot. It seems like most people are mixed on the 2nd half of the game, some say "it ruins the game" and others say "its bad but worth it". It just felt like a lazy way to make the game longer, IMO.

I have GCU so it would be like $87 bucks or so with tax. Still, can't justify the $40 extra dollars for it, but the game is pretty sweet from what I have played and I want it. I'll prob just snag a vanilla copy.

IIRC, it was rushed to release. There's still hints in Chapter 5 that was originally a little more fleshed out (though the second half still existed). I did go in knowing 5-7 were pointless, so I did the bare minimum in those. The original vision, I believe, was supposed to lead you to that realization yourself.

IMO the second half of that game has one of the worst game mechanics/aspects ive ever played in any video game ever.

I seriously couldnt believe it when i was playing it...

which is insane because the first half of that game was exactly what i was crying out for in a squeenix jrpg....since the PSOne days!

I just opened my Octopath Traveler CE and I'll be the first one to admit that it doesn't command great value.  But at the end of the day it was only a $80 collector's edition and if you're a huge SNES jrpg fan this is one of those boxes you simply wouldn't want to miss out on.  It's kind of landmark time when a great new original, yet traditional jrpg gets published by SquareEnix on a Nintendo home television console platform for the first time in a long while.  I'm really glad I bought it.

I would quantify the CE as an easy pass for anyone who isn't a big jrpg enthusiast, and a must-have for anyone who loves old school jrpgs.  This is another one of those boxes that people are passing on or cancelling because it feels 'available'.  Then many of these same people are going to be crying and whining to find a copy as soon as it's sold out everywhere.   There will be no sympathy.  Plus this game is going to get a lot of coverage and hype in the coming weeks.  For instance, i was considering importing the OT soundtrack from Amazon Japan yesterday for ~$44 shipped and now when I go back and look today it's completely sold out. 

It's definitely not for everybody, but Octopath Traveler is going to be one of the big sleeper hits of 2018.

Bestbuy, gamestop, Amazon almost no matter what I order or how much it almost all of it shows up in bubble mailer. Walmart only place I know have luck and stuff shows up in a box.

Yea. best Buy is usually pretty good. With stuff this size they ship it in a box usually. Shocked Amazon sent it in a bubble mailer.

I just don't want it because it looks fairly cheap to me, takes up too much space, and has nothing that I would find of value in a CE.
