Not too sure what you are referring to, but I wouldn't call the PS4 Pro a niche console. The translucent blue system is limited to 50,000 I believe and no idea on the Spidey Pro, but I would imagine it's more than 50k.

 
The standard PS4 Pro being sold out everywhere is part of the issue. I find it odd that Sony has appeared to allow stock issues to come to this now. That or the Sony analysts have been sleeping at the wheel for awhile now.

I don't think Destiny was really valuable (at the time of release). The only LE pro's that shot up in value after release was the Monster Hunter Pro and the God of War Pro.

Spiderman Pro is going to follow suit now.

The days of summer sale depleted the stock. I think all production went in to making the spiderman and 500m units. I'm surprised the spiderman pro sold out with the 500m console announcement.
 
So for the 500m PS4 are they doing preorders or not in NA? Seems like most territories are. Also Ebay is filthy with resellers already and I can't tell if any are legit or not but the average selling price is around 900 bucks.

The Monster Hunter World one I believe was also exclusive to Gamestop and likely more limited than most of them as a result. I agree that the Spidey system will likely go for a decent amount due to it being Spider-Man.

According to the Official Playstation Facebook, the 500M will be available to purchase on retailer websites on 8/24. As such, it appears they won't be doing pre-orders in the US like they are doing in Europe.

I think the Spiderman Pro will be valuable just due to the PS4 Pro stock issues. This was available everywhere so people that have been looking were forced to preorder it. Now they don't have any options unless they want to buy any on the secondary marketplace. Unless Kingdom Hearts gets announced I'm curious what Sony has planned for next.

Gamestop.com is showing a new batch of PS4 Pros coming in on 08/17. As such, this is probably a good indication that other stores will be receiving stock shortly.

Ok thanks the incoming restock was news to me. I did recall a cag mentioning a week ago that GS was going to have a restock sometime soon though. This lends some further credence to what Youngnoble said about perhaps the Spiderman and 500M LE's were getting manufactured over the standard Pro's.

As for Walmart, that must be a restock because I saw it sold out online before. Assuming people don't hate the design the Spiderman bundle makes more sense since you get a free game with it compared to the plain version with both at the same $399 price point.

For what its worth I saw standard PS4 Pros at Costco and Best Buy over the weekend.

Walmart is getting better at canceling multiple orders from the same person. May be a reason for availability

Due to the limited number of consoles, I would guess it will be only available online. Best Buy will probably have them but only online like gamestop etc.

 
When do these corporate/social media idiots on the Best Buy forums ever know what's going on?  They have never helped.  The last one said we'd get our Monster Hunter World steelbooks and that never happened.  Dude straight up ignored my e-mails. 

Orders got cancelled because they aren't getting any.   Mine was cancelled too.  I don't even know why I ordered it.  It's a dumb CE and I don't really even care.  Also the standard game is like $19 on Amazon.  Like anything else though, everyone suddenly really wants these Owlboy LEs for some reason.

We should have known they were never shipping when the company came out and said they made like 6000 of them or something and then listings for the LE showed up at every single online retailer, and for long periods of time.  It was a lie from the very start.   

 
500M is now dead on Amazon UK, lasted about 4h, granted local time was 5AM when it was up.

I'm pretty sure they pre-authorize the full amount but don't hold the funds, effectively meaning the order won't ship if the money's not in the bank when the official charge goes through.

It was put up early in error. All UK retailers were supposed to go live at 10am local time. Tons of reports on other forums of Amazon.UK orders being cancelled this morning.

So one of the BB reps announced a resolution for the issue and I called the number he provided and the resolution is they will sell us the standard edition of the game for 50% off. Ummmm, no. Thanks for nothing BB. Guess I will wait until they relist all the canceled orders again with the right release date and hope I get lucky with one. In the meantime I will keep my Amazon order obviously. This is one of the few times for me where Amazon actually handled something better than BB.

Well assuming Bestbuy is actually getting the Owlboy CE, since they canceled on just about everyone, they'll have to put it up again.

That's a terrible offer. I can buy it right now for $20 with GCU. I'm assuming they won't let us use GCU on top of the 50% off and they'll probably take it off the MSRP of $30, so we're talking about a whopping $5 savings. Thanks, BB! /s

I think he meant pre-orders, haven't heard a word about US or CA getting a pre-order day. Has Sony ever had a item like this be able to pre-order everywhere except North America?

Seems weird that that would be the case, other countries would get there consoles on release date but the rest of us would only be able to order on release date and have to for shipping.

Of course, it depends if Atlus learned and will produce a lot less than the P4 one. Usually, if the first game CE sells out and becomes hard to find, the sequels (or the following titles after) hardly ever seem to do because I believe the companies usually adjust their numbers.

That was a Vita game versus a PS4 game. Also will P4D be sold digitally a la carte on PS4 or do you have to buy the bundle CE to get it?

Well my point still stands. If this was a remake/remaster of the actual games, or the only way to get P4 physically, then that's a different story. I highly doubt they would only sell the digital P4 through the physical CE. Even if they forced you to buy the bundle to get P4 on PSN, that wouldn't affect this.

This is a dancing rhythm game. It doesn't matter what platform. It's still going to be pretty niche. There's a ton of great rhythm games out on the market already, so generally people interested in this would be fans of the series. Take a look at Persona 4 Golden CE which was Vita only. Why did that sell out if the Vita platform is the reason P4DAN CE didn't sell out?

That's not to say this will or won't sell out. Again, it's just a matter of how many are made obviously. But I wonder how many people got stuck with paying full price on Ni No Kuni 2 CE thinking it will be rare like the first one?

I'm pretty sure P4D was never released for standalone download in Japan unless you bought the bundled release
