A week out and Capcom still hasn't said what the "And More!" And the DLC cards contain in the SSV CE? I wish it came with the preorder outfits so I can cancel my GS order and keep my BB one

Yeah, I get the feeling its gotta be something DLC related (Atleast I hope it is).

I just cant decide where I want to order from. Have one at Amazon, but I was thinking I might try to go to Gamestop for Midnight Release. I didn't realize names were picked when you logged in and could be sniped.....I'd be pretty pissed if I lost mine since I won't be getting home till Tuesday afternoon.

Im pre-ordering at Gamestop for bearded Ryu and then returning it a few days later. Retailer specific DLC sucks.
LOL I had to look this up after imagining he'd look like Joel from the The Last of Us or Ken from Fist of the North Star.

Was not disappointed.

It seems to be missing something... this is a CE for a video game right? I didn't see a video game, seems like it would be vital in a video game CE...
You get a digital code and it contains all the episodes as they release. But at least they didnt include a steelbook with no disk like another CE that I will not name lol

A CE for a digital game just seems kind of....wrong.  I don't buy digital but I imagine those that do do it to cut down on physical shit and clutter.  They should have just saved the CE for the eventual physical release.

The dropping prices of Halo 5 LCE seem to bear that out. Especially when they offered a disc swap for the digital code in the first two weeks of release.

Guess nobody on here caught the Capcom store glitch huh. They had Street Fighter V CE preorder for just $64.99 and the Mega Man helmet statue for only $14.99. Lasted about 20 minutes before it died.
I placed an order for the helmet and a dead rising pen that was free. Got a confirmation, but no updates yet. I think it was on anything that was on sale, so the SF statues were probably about 1/3 of the list price.

And then Capcom cancels all orders for the glitch I bet
So far it still looks promising, no cancellations yet, both Mega Man helmet statue and SF V CE are still OOS on their site. I would think if they plan on cancelling the glitch orde, they would've at least relisted the items as available to purchase at regular price by now. Especially with the SF V preorders.

has anyone ever had a glitch order cancelled from the capcom store? Im not familiar with them at all and this is my first purchase.

What Capcom glitch?

I wanted that Mega Man helmet.

The street fighter statues were already sold out and have been for awhile.

I'm surprise Capcom pays someone to maintain that site, they literally have like 30 items and most are OOS or have been there for month. I just checked and see three or four new items added in the past few months.

They've been pretty good at honoring glitches before. I can remember times when if you bought item "A" you got item "B" significantly discounted and it was supposed to be a 1:1 deal but you could keep item "A" quantity at "1" and get as many item "B's" discounted as you wanted and they fulfilled all orders.

This is a little bit more obvious. They didn't have many helmets to sell, so they might as well fulfill those. The SF V CE has only been on there website for a few days (wasn't there when I checked a few days ago) so who knows what they'll do with those.

So apparently the Deadly Premonition Director's Cut CE sold out on the NIS America website.  When I checked a few weeks back it was still at 25-50% stock left.  That sellout came on kind of suddenly.

Also, The Xenoblade Chronicles X SE is back up on Best Buy's website if you want to buy a copy with the GCU discount.  It had been sold out basically since the game's launch at Best Buy (though it's been available at Amazon and other places all along, just without the GCU discount).

I've been kinda surprised by a lot of things at NISA's stores... some things selling out so fast, others sticking around so long, but recently, a lot of the sell outs have been surprising.

Hell, even the Disgaea PC edition sold out so quick... I tried ordering it when it was like 25% stock and their website wouldn't let me (technical error, couldn't select payment method).

I'm guessing these are all the crushed ones returned to Best Buy.

I was sitting on my thumbs with this one since I already have the original release of the game and this CE was a little odd. Still, it came with the soundtrack and some cool stuff. Just not $50 worth of cool stuff.

No doubt about it. These are all going to be crushed to hell before they even stick them in shipping envelopes again. It'll be fun to see what they look like after another trip through the mail in those terrible bubble mailers.

Yup. Given the time frame, these are the shitty ones that were crushed in deflated bubble envelopes, then returned to the store where they were man handled and thrown into a returns cart banging around with 100 other heavy items, and then cut into and quartered by those stupid security cables.

Here they sat in the store for 2 months now since launch where no collector in their right mind that this is targeted for would pay attention to it. On the bottom shelf in the same isle as skylanders and 3DS pokemon games, most frequented by little kids who for the next 2 months will grab and touch and drop and knock over and accidentially step on and trip over everything in the vicinity.

Finally after two months of taking up shelf space and requiring a rocket scientist to figure out why it isn't flying off the shelf and clearing out inventory, it's on the move again. By this point, having spent more money in bubble mailers than a box would have initially cost, they are again man handled and shipped back from all the individual stores to the distribution center. Probably in bubble mailers again. Upon arriving they are tossed haphazardly into a bin on a warehouse forklift and sent tumbling around steel chutes on a conveyor and checked in and listed online.

Here they await some poor hopeful shmuck to place an order online where once again it will be shipped to your home on it's fateful voyage in yet another bubble mailer and thrown on the ground by the delivery driver thus completing the circle.

...and...

This story is never ending...

...My xenoblade CE from BB came in a box... One end was still partially crushed because it was one of those fold-made boxes but still a box.

Just sayin'

The soundtrack is protected by some stupidly intrusive (and ineffective!) DRM that fails to properly clean up after itself. Worse, Japan got the full soundtrack, and this DRM-infested hazardous waste is only like a 10-soundtrack example.

Seems like the norm... NoJ and NoE give people nice CEs, NoA either a) doesn't release one (basically 90% of the games for which Europe/Japan got a CE), b) releases one that sucks (this), or c) releases an awesome (MK8) one that you have to go to NWS to get and only in limit numbers.

I downloaded the full soundtrack, and put it on the thumb drive. Not because I'm going to use the thumb drive to listen to it. Purely out of spite, even though no one will care, it made me feel good in a strange way.

I'm sure this have been discussed before, but I honestly belief Nintendo is creating artificial demand. Xenoblade CE, Devil's 3rd & ect. Being sold out instantly than magically coming back. I was able to get XC SE before it sold out everywhere, but upon receiving the item I figured it wasn't worth the money. No steelbook, garbage usb soundtrack and I knew I wasn't gonna play it anytime soon. However it's back in stock almost everywhere. I'm starting to think FE fates will be the same. I believe Bravely second might end up doing the same, since the 1st was so rare I'm sure the sequel will be mass produced *still up online*. Sucks we get gyp on the figure once again......

I agree with this notion with the exception of FE Fates SE. Actually the Xenoblade SE never showed signs of being rare even during the preorder phase. Take bestbuy for example, it was actually always available until about 2 weeKS prior to release. No rare CEs last that long on BB. It did sell out at BB but I bet tons of people returned theirs due to poor shipping and overall just wasn't a very popular CE once people saw it. This is probably why you see it available now, remember Xenoblade CE was qualified for holiday returns so people had until Jan 15th to return them. Gamestop also never sold out of the Xenoblade CE, it was pretty much always available since October. FE Fates on the other hand has shown signs of being rare, from no retailers ever putting it up again after selling out, to Gamestop having to cancel tons of pre-orders due to overselling. No reason for Nintendo to artificially create demand when a retailer has to cancel tons of orders. FE Fates is also the only one of the bunch where Nintendo didn't even upcharge anything for the extra stuff you get (the cost of the SE is the same vs if you bought the 3 versions seperately). So it's not like they even make eXtra money by making extra Fates SEs. Lastly it would be a dumb move to release a bunch of Fates SEs after release anyways. Vast majority of big Fire Emblem fans that wanted the SE and missed out on it would've bought all 3 versions of the game separately anyways. Absolutely no point of making artificial demand for this one.

Exposure. Everyone is aware of them now. They have a couple high dollar high profile limited CEs posted all over ebay and every price chart and rarity guide now. So now everybody has them on their "watch like a hawk" list because nobody wants to miss the next equivalent to "Neptunia Re:birth 1" that sells out. The moment one of their CEs sells on ebay for $500 is the moment that they can't keep CEs in stock for anything anymore due to overzealous speculation.

Just the latest victim of the "if you aren't F5ing the site when it goes live you aren't getting one" trend driven by the increasing competition between ever growing collectors and resellers fighting each other to get them first.

Why NIS sells out of items fast is the same reason Devil's Third on Wii U (was) hard to find: because everyone knows about Stadium Events. Excessive speculation over future rare games and too many people not wanting to miss out on whatever might becomes the next one in the future.

Of course this creates a self fulfilling prophecy and bubble where because every copy in existence is sealed and hoarded it will never end up being super rare or expensive as the old discarded NES games have. Things that become holy grails historically were not collectible or desirable when they came out despite what resellers want you to believe with their panic inducing ebay titles.

But whatever. I collect my 100% collection for my own satisfaction not for what it might be worth in 30 years. And for me I actually derive satisfaction lately more so in simply getting them at MSRP from their first point of sale and thus depriving a flipper of 1 less unit to smugly hawk back to me.

Tales of Zestiria is a fun old school JRPG throwback in a modern form factor.

The Tiamat battle scene towards the end is WELL worth the journey all by itself, and speaking of Journey's End, the long post battle reflection scene shortly after that is also just... wow I love modern games that can invoke the same production values and feelz that I remember from the SNES and PS1 RPGs.

Exposure. Everyone is aware of them now. They have a couple high dollar high profile limited CEs posted all over ebay and every price chart and rarity guide now. Stadium Events?

Stadium Events?
A shitty NES game that fetches 5 figures... It's common knowledge these days among collectors and resellers alike and this sort of knowledge drives speculation on which one of today's games could be "the next Stadium Events" 10+ years from now. It's pretty much the poster child for the sudden surge in collector and reseller interest in old video games and is mostly single handedly responsible the mad fervor and rapid nuclear explosion in older game prices in the last couple of years.

Summary of what I was saying before:

With the proliferation of real time price charts, complete games lists and prices for collections, and "rarest games for X" type lists all over the internet now, all it takes now is a single game. A single game, that's all it takes from a given publisher like NIS that nobody previously paid much attention to except fans, to sell just once on ebay for $500, to create exposure for that company for everything else they make from then on to fly out of stock before you can blink.

In this case, I believe it was the Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:birth 1 and 2 that became somewhat limited and are bid to several hundred dollars on the 2nd hand market, which is what sparked off the sudden faster selling out of NIS stuff that people are talking about.

This was no more apparent recently than for Saturday Morning RPG in which they experienced 1000x more demand and faster near instant sellout than their previous release Breach & Clear which was up for hours. By the time people even heard of Breach & Clear and realized it was gone and only on ebay for more than MSRP, everyone now has bookmarks, twitter feeds, alerts, bots, etc. so as not to miss future releases.

NIS and Iffy online preorders have been selling out far more aggressively ONLY after the Hyperdimension Neptunia CEs started going for stupid money on ebay.

Excellent summary. The thing I find so odd is the formula for understanding what will appreciate is so strange. Some items don't depreciate when HD or digital options appear and some items still appreciate despite being widely available (though that's likely just demand outstripping supply in the long tail).

I don't really have a formula. I'm just particularly sensitive to what is "rare and niche" first hand because I grew up on JRPGs and Japanese leaning games from the SNES/PS1 days. It's what I always loved and played personally before the explosion of mainstream casual western nade bro shooters and such took over the market and marginalized every other genre. Most of my rare and expensive CIB RPGs and such are therefore games that I've owned since buying them new in the store for retail price back when THEY were the predominant genre... my so called Golden Age or Renaissance era gaming on the 16 and 32 bit generations.

These just also happen to be predominantly the types of games that end up being niche, limited, and increasing in price down the road, save for the weird unexpected sports or barbie game or something stupid that nobody saw coming.

I'm definitely a 90s kid, no hiding that at all. But I like to assure myself I'm not just blinded by nostalgia when I can be in my 30s and play a clunky shitty looking PS1 game like Xenogears for the first time on my aging PS3. A game that I had never played before and have it end up blowing me away and decisively dethroning my 2 decade long running heart felt favorite game of all time. Knocking Final Fantasy II (IV) to #2 almost 4 console generations later with an old clunky seriously flawed and incomplete as shipped game , itself 3 console generations old, was no easy feat. And it sure as shit wasn't due to nostalgia for a game I never played before.

I honestly believe Xenogears is it though. It will never be topped in my mind. Limited by it's over ambitious production values, budget, and media and hardware capacity of even it's own era where publishers weren't afraid to take risks, the scope and gravity of it's incredible story arc is still currently well beyond reach for anything produced today with a reasonable budget and required break even sales numbers. It's the kind of game that could be the first multi disc BD ROM game due to story content alone, it's really that expansive.

And my apologies for wandering again... you may now return back to your regularly scheduled CAG program.

I guess Capcom is honoring the glitch from Saturday. Just got shipping confirmation for the Mega Man helmet statue. I'm guessing SF V CE will be shipped after release as well.

It happened so quick I'm guessing there are so few orders that it's not worth risking the few customers who were able to get an order in by cancelling them.

I never really thought of it that way but it kind of makes sense. A friend of mine told me recently that all my old stuff went up in price and I didn't believe him at all until I checked lol...

Mine is still "in process". Fingers crossed! I saw it on SD right when I was leaving home. Did it ever make it over here on CAG?
