$100 is still too much for me.

I preordered the first Tales of Xillia CE. Then found out not worth anything. I waited for Xillia 2 CE and got it for $50. So i'm also waiting for Zestiria CE to drop also.

Oh... I also preordered the Symphonia CE. I really like those contents.

Always love the big JRPG CEs though.  Leather books, cloth maps, compasses and pendants, etc Reminds me of Working Designs, etc.

Maybe I'm biased, I'm a JRPG whore and always have been since Final Fantasy II (IV).  Well there was Dragon Warrior on NES but JRPG tragic story telling didn't take off the way it did with FFII (IV) until 16 bit memory capacities and wave sample synths with great string heavy soundtracks and chorus effects (mmm SPC700). 

That game is still my gold standard for pure JRPG story telling without being burdened with overly complex mechanics or a bazillion dumb mini games or customization options.  It wasn't topped until I played Xenogears for the first time almost 2 decades later.

That Tiamat fight in Zesteria though.... that was friggin EPIC.

I don't get to play too many JRPGs because they are such huge time sinks, but FFIV is definitely up there at the top, even more than VII for me.

VII is the most over hyped and over rated game in history. It was really mediocre in the Final Fantasy scale of things and marked the start of the downfall of Square IMO. Story is a dis-coherent non existent mess and then you get a 15 second CGI ending after FF VI set the bar with it's ~1 hour post game epilogue and credits. Fancy CGI and eye candy mainstream appeal, abusing the reputation and title of the franchise to sell crap, and the turning point for Square getting too big and going from a small passionate game studio to a uncreative emotionless investor and money driven oversized corporation. It was also the point when numerous original members of the team left, changed positions, etc. so much of the magic of the original FF I-VI team kinda disappeared.

I hope the remake is more like Advent Children than the original in the story department. But it already appears they are going to destroy it with DLC/PPV/episodic/money grubbing formatting and the Michael Bay glamor over substance treatment.

I had always believed all this time that they were saving a FF7 remake as their trump card and we would see it when they were desperate and on their last legs.

Square is all but dead to me now. Namco, Atlus, Monolith, etc have taken their place. Monolith is on my naughty list though after Xenoblade Chronicles X with it's action > story direction... definitely not as dramatic and epic and spine tingling as the original. I was hyped as hell and then like a few months before release they come out and admit it's more an action game and not as story intense as Xenoblade Chronicles or Xenosaga and a part of me died that day. It was a fun game as far as mechanics and action go but I play JRPGs for that 80+ hours of tension, character bonding, and build up and that whole body numbing blindsiding soul disrupting story revelation, not to play mini games and blow stuff up.

I need my tragic screams and slow mo dramatic camera pans and carefully dropped quivering lines of dialog timed and backtracked with climaxing orchestra and choir back tracks. I want my feelz meter to break.

Ho...how?! Th.. the power of a God CANNOT be overcome!....

I was here at the beginning.... and I will proclaim the end...

But that...

That is something I decided LONG AGO!!

I couldn't agree more about VII. I bought a PS1 specifically for that game and was disappointed with what it was. In fact up to that point I had never given up on a jrpg, especially Final Fantasy, and I quit playing about midgame and never looked back. Square was never the same for me after that. The SNES was definitely the best system for Square IMO.

 
The worst part about FF VII is it overshadowed what IS actually the greatest JRPG and most ambitious story ever told: Xenogears.

And FF VII if I recall is what is responsible for the cut budget and hand me down development attention paid to Xenogears which is why disc 2 ended up the way it is.

What I wouldn't give for a Xenogears Remake CE.

It's grand enough in scope that it could fill more than one BD-ROM.  First 100 GB video game?  There would be something quite epic about a "insert disc 2" screen on a BluRay based console 100 hours into the game.

Maybe this is a noob question, but I noticed that my PS4 Mega Man + statue order on Amazon is now listed as 'Mega Man - PS4 ASIN REPLACE' instead of what it used to be listed as and the link goes to what looks like a place holder page, not the original listing (which does still exist).  Anyone else seeing this or know what it means?

Mine did the same. When I look up the order history the link takes me to a placeholder and not the original listing. When I look up the original listing it still shows that I placed the order. I click the link to view the order from there and the link for the product on that page takes me back to the placeholder page. Never seen that before and I order a lot from Amazon.

 
Is anyone doing a group buy for the quantum break steelbook? I really hope the USA gets it but not holding on to much of any hope.

It isn't to me. I want an Agnes and Edea figure, but the EU CE ones are low quality. And region locking makes the game worthless to me too.

 
Walked in a Gamestop and found the Witcher 3 collector's edition for the PS4 today. Not only that but it was marked down to $90! Holy cow, what a day! I'm sooooooo happy since I missed out on preorders and was willing/trying to pay about $200 for it. =D

Yeah. It dropped. Got one Friday for :xb1: and the manager knocked down a Halo CE trying to grab it. Literally fell crashing to the floor.

XBox nadebros don't take care of their stuff anyway.

I never have problems finding mint PS3 games. Never. They always look brand new, not even a wrinkle on the manual.

Wii games are hit and miss because of kids but when I find one that wasn't handled by a 3 year old, it's typically mint.

Xbox 360 games though universally always look like case was run over by a truck, buried in some nadebro's nasty bedroom and stepped on for centuries, and like the manual was used as a paper plate for pizza and Chinese food every day since launch, and the discs never stored in cases.

Thought it was just me! I fear buying used 360 games only compared to every other platform. Nintendo products are usually in excellent condition when buying used. I guess it's those CoD kids on Xbox that don't take care of their thangs.

Lol I didn't realize other people hated SD as much as I do. Between people bitching that stuff is still in stock and cancelling their orders because they can't flip it, and the hoops people jump through to price match+coupon+hold till after sale+return or trade in at another store+etc to basically scam $5 cash in their pocket... its pretty disgusting. That and demanding things be removed because it's not a deal unless they can flip it and make money off of it somehow. SMH "No money to be made here, can someone delete this" is a post I see often and I just want to punch someone in the face.

I honestly thought it was a site to watch for sales or LEs going up. Boy was I wrong.

Every time I get one of these emails, they are gone as soon I go the product page. I'm not sure if they reprinting these or when one of these are returned, they send out the email to everyone.

I wish you the best. When Kingdom Hearts 2.5CE came back in stock, I think a lot were shipped already damaged (i.e. possibly returns?); I know the one I got was.

The cardboard on this CE is super thick, and was packed fine. So the odds are in your favor that it comes in nice condition :)

Yes the cardboard for FFE CE (and previously LOH:ToCS) is beautiful.  Wish all CEs where that heavy instead of this paper crap that cant hold its from unless there are hard square items inside.

 
Got like 7 emails, but was tied up.  Last email I got was at 7:00am and by 7:08 (when I got on mobile) it was gone.  :(  Stink. I DID get my Hyrule Warrior Legends CE from Japan in yesterday though, so I guess that's a consolation!
