I have a co-worker in the same boat. His hasn't shipped yet and given past Best Buy practice, if it does "ship" late tonight or this weekend, UPS won't pick it up until Monday which means he is looking at mid next week to even get to play the game. The $20 is a pretty pointless gesture given that he just wants to play the game. Perhaps they should have offered a free download of the full game. Mine is still on the way from Gamestop and will arrive on Tuesday with their value shipping.

To my bewilderment, I was able to secure a Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition pre-order in December 2015. If I only knew, I should have also bought a ticket for the disappoint train.

When I went to pick up my supposed pre-order, they told me that it was "an error in our system." They gave me some runaround saying that Nintendo cancelled those pre-orders.

It would have been courteous to tell people by some mean BEFORE they go to the store and leave disappointed and angry like me. They did not even offer an apology for their mistake. All I received was my pre-order deposit back.

All this time, I have been waiting for nothing.

Why do I put up with this BS?

This was actually pretty big news last month. Any orders placed at Gamestop after Nov 18th had to be canceled cause Nintendo told Gamestop they won't be sending them enough.

It shouldn't be that complicated. The codes everyone is getting are actually promotional gift cards and should be usable to buy anything in the store, even gift cards. The only reason I can see it not working is if the employee isn't willing to do it.

As long as they're not reward certs, it should work, unless there is clear fine print saying it can't be used on another GC.

I wasn't going to get the Far Cry Primal Delixe Edition due to the superior vanilla artwork, but since the vanilla artwork is on the slipcover, I went ahead and pre-ordered. I'll probably get the MLB 16 Steelbook edition as well. 

 
My friend preordered his on Amazon and it's arriving this Monday and he is not compensated at all like us from BBY. On top of that we get 126 points(250 for $5)

 
Picked up the only available copy of FE SE @ BB first thing this morning due to the nonsense last night. Since I bought it in store, I was able to take advantage of the $5 off the map pack deal they have going despite being shot down online in regards to it applying to the SE and now it looks like my online order is shipping and BB handed out $20 due to the delay email. Talk about a bad night turning into a good day.

Edit: I used my $20 on a new order for Twilight Princess HD w/ wolf link amiibo. So if anyone was trying to think of something to use it on before it expires, that's my suggestion.

Question about quantity limits on Amazon. If you order an item that has a one quantity limit, and then cancel and re-order, it still lets you order another right? I'd assume yes, but you never know sometimes.

How can there not have been a fuck up? I ordered in November and my copy still hasn't shipped, yet people who purchased on eBay yesterday already had theirs ship! That's a fuck up right there.

The bizarre thing is I ordered this on 11/12 like everyone else. I DID have it preordered on Gamestop too but cancelled it because i didn't think BB was gonna drop the ball. My card's been charged, it's just stuck in this ambiguous "preparing order for shipment" status which it has been stuck at all day. It's the uncertainty that's the most maddening!

That sucks.

When I went in to the store today, all of the copies that were in stock at the store were all eBay pickups, and they only had 5 copies.

Just really weird how all of this unfolded. ~_~

 
Whew my Amazon FEF:SE got here unscathed despite being sent in a bubble mailer... though it must have been 10x heavier than Best Buy's ziplock baggy bubble mailers.

 
Anyone think the Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition will come back in stock? I don't follow these releases, so I don't know if it's commonplace or not.

I highly doubt it. I have read that Nintendo is not known for suddenly realizing they have some copies lying around in a warehouse some where. Once it is gone, it is gone.

They are already going for $200+ on eBay. These douchebags taunt you with pictures of five copies on the Special Edition.

It really pisses me off as a fan who has actually played every English release. These slimebags are looking for a quick cash grab. Honestly, if some thing bad befalls them, I would not give a damn.

Honestly, I don't think 5 is that bad. It's not like they ran into Best Buy and bought them all before everyone could in-store necessarily. 5 could just be one pre-order each, from all the retailers. I know it's subjective, but I find that a lot less "slimeballish" than the previous way.

But if there's a seller out there who has a stack of like 20 or something, then yeah ok. I could see that being aggravating.

I actually didn't know that, but I'm also quite sure if someone bought $1000 worth of Fates SE and filed a fraudulent chargeback. The seller wouldve gotten the police involved as well. So yea, I really hope he was just joking with that idea.

I believe I read some where on CAG that this is Fire Emblem Awakening all over again with the supply issues. Nintendo eventually printed more copies, the key word being eventually.

It's always funny. Whenever people get mad at resellers or scalpers they resort to doing something illegal and immoral while trying to justify that what they are doing is right. Ironic since they think reselling is on par with selling drugs to inner city kids.

I get why people hate resellers, especially when they get screwed out of a copy. It's human nature. But it's not exactly Martin Shkreli buying a pharma company and jacking up prices on AIDS meds for sick people who need them either. There are some forms of capitalism I absolutely loathe, but I typically focus my hatred and anger on the mega corporations and rich people at the top of the food chain.

In this instance, I think it's more productive to direct your anger toward Nintendo, if you want to make complaints and get vocal about it. For whatever reason, all their CEs and SEs are severely limited. If they produced more, this stuff wouldn't be a problem. No one goes through this with Ubisoft games and stuff like that. If you want change, go to the source.

 
Truth be told if it weren't for the fact that the Fire Emblem SE is the only way to obtain all of the games content physically, I wouldn't really care as much about it.

 
Another time i've been fucked up by best buy. lol. Sad that they have me by the balls with GCU or i'd never shop there again.

The fuck are they doing "preparing to ship" anyway? Do they have like 30 sub-100 IQ workers standing around and going "does it go in this box? Oooh, nope..does it go in this box? Oooh..nope..crap, what were we putting in a box again?"

I don't know what's more embarrassing -- this, or the times they've put the collector's editions i've ordered out on the floor with the pick slips on them, or just put my collector's edition out on the floor WITHOUT the pick slip on it.

Best buy couldn't find my GG XRD collector's edition in the back, and someone went to the floor, and lo and behold, there it was, the only copy they got in sitting out in the open, waiting to be bought by anyone.

BB is truly a giant pile of shit. But that 20% off plus the CC I have with them for rewards makes everything about 26% cheaper.

Sigh.

 
I just checked tracking info on my FE Fates SE package and it's on the way, should arrive on Monday according to UPS.com.

Not immediately, though usually in a short amount of time. I've seen an issue with it not resetting, as I tried to do with Bravely Second as I wanted to have it as an Amazon Smile order.

Hmmm, the SE i got last night on Amazon got an estimated date of the first week of March.

Im just waiting to see if it will get the double 20% off

Got that message just now. Glad they changed the SKU lol.... Basically I placed an order for one on the initial run that I ended up giving to my cousin because he is a huge FE fan and I have regretted it all week (it shipped tuesday) because Best Buy decided to make an ass of themselves.

 
Same message for me from Amazon. It's a month away but worth the wait. these aren't coming back in stock (judging by other Nintendo launches) so I'll take any chance I can to get it.

Target hasn't gotten any shipments yet but we can assume they will be getting something. Doubt it'll be an in store item though
