I've ordered every Blu-Ray Audio that's been released for FF (6 discs I believe)

Kingdom Hearts II CE

Distant Worlds Blu-Ray

Both Collector's FFType-0's

All came in mint condition for me. Ever since their store makeover, things have gone much more smoothly.

Guess they wanted the people who missed out on the UE and have to settle for the Deluxe edition to still feel special. Don't seem like it's working though, apparently there are so many butt hurt people on both reddit and gamefaqs that there's people petitionin SE to make more Ultimate Editions. Guess they don't understand what limited means and that it's a really bad business practice to actually advertise it as limited to a set amount and then add to that amount.

I think it is a bad business practice to go from announcing an item to it being sold out in 2(?) hours, in the middle of the night.

At least announce they are going to sell it sometime the next day to give people that are already sleeping a fair chance at it.

Well to be fair, SE probably figured their biggest fans would be watching the FF XV event so having the preorder 1 hour after the event was only logical. And regardless, if you limit something to 30000 copies for a AAA title. It's gonna sell out fast. SE probably couldve done a better job limiting it to 1 per account but it would've probably still have sold out within 2 to 3 hours. Btw it was discussed on reddit and Neogaf that the 30k number was set also because the company SE contracted to make Playart's Kai figures can only make 30k noctis figures before having to move onto other contactually obligated projects.

Final Fantasy essentially was the japanese console attempt, along with dragon quest/warrior at simulating the tabletop experience. That certainly has evolved, but now that they abandoned the turn based combat system, it's simply an action game at this point. It looks more like metal gear and gta with some witcher sprinkled in, than it even remotely resembles a final fantasy game. Nothing wrong with variety, but this series didn't need to be changed so completely as to change it's foundational genre. But that's what the kiddies love now. A shame.

I think you and I may have different definitions on what an RPG is. Did you consider Secret of Mana or Ys to be an RPG? I did, and most people do, even if they are more action oriented than FF games up to X. FFXV is every bit the RPG that they are, though the platforming elements they put in this new demo make me feel less strongly about that. I really hope those platforming elements are just in Noctis' dream; I really preferred them not being there in the Episode Duscae demo.

My Kingdom Hearts 2.5 CE was dented and torn because they used a thin snug fit box. Similarly, they sent Tomb Raider CE in a snug fit box and it showed up with damage. I have basically resigned myself to the fact that if I'm ordering from Square, the item will be damaged. Their customer service is terrible by the way, especially since they moved to Pepita for fulfillment.

 
I know we usually get spoiled anyways with art books in collectors editions, but no one seems to point out the UC is the only way to get one for FFXV. That makes it worth it for me, but everyone's focused on the figure. Which I think is about normally priced for these types of figure. Also posable figures are better compared to static statues, so glad this figure is posable.

Yeah. The moment I saw it was almost 200 pages and Hard Cover I had to bite on it. Even for Square's games that werent great (Like Lighting Returns), the artbooks were still amazing.

 
Did anyone with a FFXV UC order ge to the order confirm on the night of, but still not see it in their order list. On a side note when I logged n this morning her was an Explorers CE in my cart and I was able to check out.

Thanks for this. I just cancelled my Amazon preorder for a BB one. Worked out cheaper since I got in on that $15 off $75 eBay deal and bought some BB gift cards. Stacked with GCU, I'm paying $61.xx with taxes.

Yes, in his opinion the SB case in the DE is better than either SB case in the UCE. All retailers should have the same product (including SB case) when it comes to the DE of the game (no retailer specific exclusives).

Exactly! I prefer the Amano artwork. I'll probably leave the game in the Amano steelbook and sell off the extra copy of the game I'm going to get with the Ultimate Edition.
 
Obviously the DE SB is superior in every way. I just assumed they were throwing that one in with the other SBs in the UCE because it shares the same art work. I'm just now noticing how much bigger it looks compared to the SBs in the UCE so its probably just a thin box to hold the stuff in. That... blows. Anyone from the outside looking in probably agrees but I think someone mentioned that they wanted the UCE buyers to be enticed enough to buy the DE as well to complete the trilogy of SBs. 

 
Err nevermind, that guy said he ordered in the first 5 minutes. I know I'd be pissed if I get that email, I was here when they went up at like 11:58

That waiting list of theirs is BS too. I'm a nite owl and I was on it for the Explorers CE, literally missed every single time it went up because it always happened between like 6-9AM, or only stayed up for a minute or two

Yea that's my guess too, but if that's the case, then this thing really sold out after 20 minutes instead of 35 minutes. Jesus!!!

If he really did order it that fast and got that message, it could have been flickering in and out of stock barely 10 minutes after.

Kinda had a feeling this sort of thing would happen, especially with the PS4 version. And wow, some guy on Reddit got the email and said he ordered it right when it went live (Before midnight even hit). Maybe there was some sort of fuckup on the verification side of things

Most likely the verification process was messed up. I got my order around 11:18pm cst. I did also get my order confirmation email only 30 minutes later and my order showed up at that time as well unlike some people who waited a day or longer. My internet speed is really fast though, so I wonder if my internet speed could possibly bump people who preordered before me but had slower internet speeds.

 
For those that have orders shown on the website, does it have a 2 by the preorder? When I try to dig deeper in the mobile version of the site, I can't see what the actual order is.

I preordered 2 and I can't tell if that is for both of them or if one of them is the postcard. I only got one order confirmation email too.

The 2 refers to the pre order postcards and the Ultimate edition (2 items). The postcards you get as a free bonus.

Seems like it was only one batch like 3 hours ago, and those that got it actually say "Wait List" or something on their Order page.

If yours still just says "Pre-order" you are safe for now

Yeah I did the same. I got a second order but only one order so far has appeared on my page and I only got one email, but have two charges on my card.

 
According to the Play Arts Kai twitter account you can preorder Noctis later. So it just looks like the weapon is just exclusive to the UE. Good news for people who just want the figure. I don't want the figure.
