FAQ:
  • What is this thread? A massive collection of limited edition games & other attributing items, included with links.
  • Why put it all in one thread? More traffic due to collaborating interests.
  • Why is that important? This keeps the thread popular and doesn't risk a failed CE from falling through the cracks unnoticed.
  • What can be discussed here? Anything relevant to what is posted.
  • Why make another CE compilation? Karma.
  • Where are the big pictures? Still here, scroll down. Due to the increased number of CEs, a preface post is needed.
  • When is the Final Fantasy XVI CE? Not announced. Granted, IF it does, you can bet I will devote an entire page to it.
  • What about other CEs that have been announced? Give me a minute. It takes a bit of time to format the title, price, date, & retailer links in correctly.
  • What about the Book/Steelbook/Console/Misc. Picture Posts? I condensed the thread. Not necessary to include pictures for all those items. They will still be included in the Everything List post.

Bandai CE's have been garbage for years. Just pretend it doesn't even exist.

That's not even remotely close to resembling a worthwhile collector's edition, and neither was the previous one. Ever since the Ni no Kuni 1 CE debacle they stopped trying completely.

Wow, I remember that. What a shit show that was...

god damn it Bamco site so fucking stupid.

used saved credit card approved prior transactions ....rejected
type in another credit card one character at a time .... rejected
rearrange my middle name and address around .... rejected

updates: spammed order button in incognito mode and somehow got the order through.

Is there still any chance at the ffvii ce or am I sol

I'm pretty sure that Remake 1st Class Edition came back in stock and would think this will too.

Also, who knows- as amazing as everything about Rebirth seems so far, it might have some major controversy (real or otherwise) that might kill any real demand the CE and you'll be able to find them super cheap on eBay.

Even with a week from release, still no movement on my CE. Hopefully gets here on release day.

@FlawlesslyFatal: when you say arrange/rearrange full name in the shipping/billing address if cc has a middle name (mine has middle initial), do you mean put the middle initial/name as part of the first name or last name?

when entering the shipping/billing address it doesn't seem to have a field for middle name/initial

Outside of Yuffie braining Cloud with a golf club, I’m sure it will be fine. Actually, that is plausible, as revenge for the soldier’s war on Wutai. Crap, think I just spoiled the big twist. Oh well, as long as it doesn’t get widely leaked beforehand, our CE market value’s are safe. Everyone will still like it as long as the story can be naturally experienced in context.

Been way longer. Still won't forget the crap they put me through on Tales of Vesperia DE CE as had to go through hoops to just get things situated

Squeenix warehouse finally handed over the CE to UPS, slate for Thursday delivery. No early copy. Good news is I am not at the office Thursday, bad news is I forgot to put in a day off for Friday.

Mine is also showing Thursday now but won't matter for me... I'm way too busy to play games until busy season is over. Just hope it arrives safely.

Best Buy hasn't charged me yet for my in-store pickup of Rebirth, so hopefully everything works out. They usually charge me around a week before launch for pre-orders. I also may not play it right away (really need to finally get to Pikmin 4 and thinking of playing Persona 3 Reload), but I do not want to miss out on Rebirth's deluxe edition and the extra steelbook from Best Buy.

EDIT: so my Best Buy order said "awaiting authorization" and a quick Google search informed me that that message often means I have to reconfirm my payment method. It seemed like it wanted me to input my card's CVV again, so I did so and the message is gone. Never had to do that before, but Best Buy has completely shat the bed with Rebirth, so I'm not surprised there's still issues with it this close to launch. A few days ago, I got that email from Best Buy I always get for pre-orders, where it says the item is releasing soon and suggests I doublecheck my payment info. Those emails are usually safe to ignore, but it looks like this time, updating the payment details may have been a requirement, so I'm glad I checked it. Fingers crossed that didn't actually screw something up!

Thanks for this--I noticed the same thing on my preorder, entered the CVV again, and the "Awaiting Authorization" blurb is gone. Hopefully this dodged a bullet instead of putting our preorders in harm's way.

This is why I fucking hate Best Buy. I've had some blips with every store regarding poorly packaged items, but BBY is the ONLY store where I've gotten spine slashed Steelbooks and games.

My Rebirth deluxe edition says "preparing for pickup on Thursday" while the steelbook just says "preparing." Make it make sense, Best Buy!

Mine says the same... but I also have a Deluxe Ed for shipping and there, similar issue, game says arrives by Thurs but SB says "we'll let you know when it ships". X_X

Now my deluxe edition says my store has it and it'll be ready for pickup tomorrow, while the steelbook says "preparing for pickup on Friday." So I'll have to make two trips to get everything, if I even get the steelbook at all because I'm running out of confidence.

Like ShadowAssassin said, I wouldn't worry--there's always a chance it'll get marked ready for pickup tomorrow between now and then.

Bestbuy shipping decision is booty ass, the game and the steelbook to be sent from same location in Ardmore OK, but instead of 1 single package they splitting in 2.

Similar issue for me, I really hope I don't get a damaged SB, seems like these won't be in ample supply like FF16 was and likely closer to Crisis Core.

I heard some ppl who ordered Sora for pickup got cancelled. I also received damaged amiibo from them even though they shipped in a box. It was crushed. I'm worry about my steelbook being shipped.

My steel book from best buy shipped via FedEx yesterday and my deluxe edition is apparently shipping today via UPS. Both from the same origin city.

As long as I get them both before I get home from work tomorrow I don't care too much but what a weird way to ship things. Have to assume this costs them double in shipping. Very weird

Just got the ready for pickup email for both items - off to bby I go. Didn't want to risk steelbook damage via mailer shipping.

Edit: No omnislash on deluxe or steelbook. At first I thought the steelbook had scratches, but as far as I can tell they're on the shrinkwrap only. Also 15 min after the ready for pickup email, bby emailed me the preorder dlc code. This was before I had even picked up the order. At no point did I have the dlc itemized in my order.

My Rebirth deluxe edition and Best Buy steelbook have been safely acquired! Late last night, the steelbook updated to show it was ready for pickup along with the game. My husband was kind enough to grab it on his way to work since he's much closer to the store. I even got an email from Best Buy with a PSN code, which I assume is the preorder DLC that was never added to my order, so that's really cool. Gotta admit, Best Buy did good.

Here's a quick story that explains why I'm always so suspicious of Best Buy: back when Monster Hunter World came out, my husband went to Best Buy at launch less than an hour after they opened to pick up the game and the bonus steelbook. Well, he got the game, but was informed one of the employees had accidentally put all the preorder steelbooks on the shelf and they had all been bought. He and I were livid (especially my husband, since this was his game) and when I called the special Elite customer service number (this was back when that and GCU were still a thing), I was initially told there was nothing they could do since the steelbook was sold out online. Well, after pressing the issue a bit, the agent checked my area for any local stock and claimed a nearby store had one. I didn't believe her, since the website didn't match her claim, but she put a free order in for me anyway. I was expecting to get another copy of the game or something, and I was going to just sell it online and use the profit to buy a steelbook, which was already going for the same price as the game on eBay. So my husband and I go to the nearby store and the guy hands us a sealed steelbook with a smile and a "have a nice day" and I was shocked, like he was holding gold and he didn't even know it!

Now yes, the issue was resolved (and it's admittedly very specific and anecdotal), but it was still an absolute shitshow, and it's far from the only issue I've had with Best Buy over the years. So whenever I'm set to get a bonus steelbook from Best Buy, I immediately get nervous that it'll be sold or given away before one of us can get to the store. Rebirth's steelbook playing hard to get with me at first really didn't help my anxiety lol

P.S.: the store that pulled that crap has since closed, while the store that resolved it is still open and is where I got Rebirth today. Pretty sure it closed due profit loss from COVID, but just an observation lol
