This game frustrates me to no end. I played yesterday and got owned, I try to use the counter system like the parry system in 3s but I'm not sure if that's actually a good idea. Oh wellz it's still fun only if you play against noobs:D

Now that is stupid. Why would anyone in their right mind let a friend borrow a $400 gaming system. But anyways has anyones doa4 freeze up on them online. When Im in the game my friends message me I go to the dashboard while in game to message them back and the game locks up. That is the only time it locks up and has done it continous times online. Just want to know if anyone else is experiencing that. I think its a programming flaw of the game. Gets fustrating when your in a room and it locks up like that. No other game does that I have and I have 5 games total.

It happened to me in that exact same situation yesterday. I've had no other problems though.

Apokalipse-- it's not a good idea to use the counter system like third strike, it's a lot riskier, imo.
 
i'll play a match or two before Evangelion is on. Gotta get up early though, so i can't play after.

also, i won't be on the headset...people are asleep at my place right now.

I didn't come here looking for your approval. I let her borrow the 360, she let me borrow her PS2 and a ton of games that I've been dying to play. She got to play Oblivion, I got to catch up on games without buying a PS2. Did I get the short end of the stick? Yes. Do I care? Not really.

I'll have it back sometime next week. You'll all die then. Singles or tag, doesn't matter.

Well 2poor and that damn Possum died to me quite often so at the very least, I can feel good about that.... granted, I got raped in the last round against Apossum, but if you're really that good, bring it.
 
Good games guys. It was pretty even for a while there, though I think Chacrana's Kasumi is a bitch! well, everyone's kasumi is a bitch :lol:

I'm too spastic with my countering sometimes which is my problem. One suggestion: Change up your moves with Zack. I could counter pretty easily because you used a ton of kicks and very few punches. Alter that a bit and you're golden.

Ah, sagely advice. You're right, but I'll be damned if he doesn't have much in the way of punches. I am pretty spastic with the counters myself; one day I'm spot on, the next I have the same coordination as a three year old. I really only use Zack because of his outfit :D

Those were some damn fun/frustrating matches. I look forward to becoming better so that they are more even. Good time.

Good enough reason. I only use Kasumi because she's teh hotness. And her tits stand out more than in Ultimate and DOA 3.

I don't think I've ever encountered another Zack player online and when I look at the rankings (popularity, matches won with character), Zack is near the bottom. What gives? He isn't that bad, is he?

Zack's not really a bad character, but he's more difficult to use well than some other characters.

You need to reread what I typed. I said no one in their right mind would lend out a $400 system. Since you dont care that much about it just give her the 360.

Anyone else having the freezing issue online trying to access the friends list and freeze? The more I play this game I see that it takes zero skill to counter and old game like 2d Street Fighter 3 takes skill to parry/counter making it more complex to earn that parry/counter and gives you a split second manually to perform a move instead of the automatic counter game doa4. Its funny every match you hear this "huh....huh....huh...(people doing nothing but countering and not enough fighting)" It is really sad when the game is based on counters. Game is pretty, moves are good but the counters need to be a little more complex than that.

no freezing for me...yet. i hear it happens from time to time to everyone.

if you think the game is based on counters, you probably have a pretty bad win ratio ;-) also, I assume you mean the move where you catch the attack by pressing a direction and free. That's called a "hold." the hold system still isn't perfect but I still see people getting punished for holds more than I see them winning with them. like me for example :lol:

Online is fucked up and not tournament worthy, but trust me, the game has little to do with counters, unless you are an advanced player who can read the frames well or you know how someone will attack.
 
Hmm, I ended up in a game with a couple people from joystiq today. They pretty much talked about E3 the whole time, haha. I was there for like an hour, so I heard a lot. One of them met Iwata :eek:~

Countering system still is too easy its like a 2-3 sec when you perform it they will sit there which is too large of a countering window. Of course this game is a joke for tourny play.
Need a better fighting game to come out for the 360.

We had some close matches yesterday, but I was playing survival mode today and realized that I've gotten a lot better... been playing 3 days and I'm ranked 3000-something out of 70000+ people.
 
Attention bitches: I'll be on a 9:30 or 10 like I usually am now. I've gotta watch the last episode of Vol. 2 of My Hime first though... and I sorta wanna play through a little more of Nocturne.
 
I just recently got my DoA4 back and I'm looking to hop back in the matches shortly. I can't counter to save my life, but anything else I'm decent at. I love using the drunk guy though, I'll try to catch up with some of you guys before long.
 
You'll get dropped to a C+ the second you fight me next time... shoot me an invite if you're on tomorrow. It's not like I have responsibilities or interests outside of my own needs so I'll prolly be on for a good chunk of the day.

D-pad is the only way to go for fighting games. I can't imagine even considering a joystick... ever... for a fighting game. Or at least, not on a gamepad. Arcade sticks are a completely different story (though admittedly, I need to learn to use one since I'm so accustomed to d-pads at this point.)

Agreed on all points. The only problem is, The 360's d-pad is without a doubt the worst part of the controller.

hh-what? I actually think the 360's d-pad is really good... infinitely better than the d-pad on the Xbox, GC, or PS2... just because it's on a little looser, has a good design, and is positioned well.
 
Gimme a few more days to get used to DoA4 and I'll be up to playing online. Just got my 360 two days ago, so I'm getting used to everything right now. Shoot me a friends request coming up if you wanna fight someone, but be warned I'm a noob right now with this game, lol.
 
I use the D-pad...I don't think it's possible to get the same level of accuracy with an analog stick. I hope someone like Hori makes a good fighter pad for the 360 (not a stick)
