Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!
3 days before the trade closes, this guy finally clicks confirmed shipped with a dc #

i just dont want the game anymore and the seller had a history of shipping really late

if i refuse the package or write return to sender, will they have to pay for the return shipping?
no as long as you make sure you refuse it when upir mailman brings it back, it will just get returns

if you dont get it before the 3 days you can still leave a negative to warn other sellers

I believe the tracking will show that it was delivered and returned to the sender. Once it's been delivered, you can't get your points back (unless the item is broken or incorrect), even if you return to sender (don't do this).
Make sure to leave a negative before the trade times out. The seller will then dispute the feedback, then you leave the appropriate feedback once the item is delivered.

I had a trade accepted on Friday the 13th, it was a game that I had actually just picked up used so as soon as I received notification that the trade was accepted I requested confirmation from the seller. So later that night the guy responds and says that he has already sent the game out, but he did not provide a tracking number at that time. So almost an entire week passes and he finally confirms the game as shipped 6 days later. I haven't received the game yet, but the tracking info does indicate that it wasn't dropped off at the post office until well past the when I requested the cancellation. I guess my question is am I stuck giving this guy a positive for the trade in this case?

Can't say I'm too pleased that the guy flat out lied that he sent the game out when I requested the confirmation well before when he shipped the game, but I'm assuming that the seller doesn't have to accept a cancellation. I just wish he would have been willing to work with me instead of just forcing me to take this game.
Just trade it in at Gamestop. As long as the TiV is higher than 2, you'll profit.(Trade tokens are only 1.99)
Depends on how much the points cost him.
No offense but, real money > gamestop credit > space bucks
But space bucks still have value, so saying that anything over $2 TIV would be profit is false.
But space bucks still have value, so saying that anything over $2 TIV would be profit is false.
Yea, the reason for my post is really more to ask a question about how to deal with a less than honest trader than about how to recoup the $1 I spent on a trade token. That said I probably wouldn't break even by trading it into GS/EB even though I probably pay $15-$20 for each 1000 goozex points.

EDIT: Just got the game and this thing is in horrible shape. It is complete, but the disc has a ton of scratches and has a number of cracks starting from from the center of the disc. I can't imagine that this game will actually play, but with my luck it probably will. There is no way BB or Amazon would accept this if I tried to trade it there. GS/EB might take it, but based on the condition they would try to tack on some refurbishing fees. With the condition this is in I wouldn't feel right trading this on goozex and if I did I'd expect to get a negative. Add to this the fact that the entire package smells like it has been sitting in an enclosed room where people chain smoked for the last decade.

So what are my options here. If the game plays then I have to give positive feedback using this option: " The product I received plays perfectly and the condition is as I requested, but the overall package quality is not as good as expected"? There do not seem to be any other neutral/negative responses that address poor condition of the game.

If the disc is cracked, then you are clear to leave negative feedback. I, personally, would not put any cracked discs into my consoles. Unless the seller can prove the disc was not cracked prior to shipment, the negative feedback should stick.

You would probably get a more definite answer on the Goozex forums. There is a handful of real helpful regulars there.

Yea, I asked him about the condition and if he had tested the game prior to sending and he sent back the following:

"ehn. I believe the game worked. I was unaware of the condition. it was used a lot. good game! =D lemme know how things work out. id be unhappy with a negative feedback as well as everybody else would. sorry!"

:whistle2:k

I'll post something on the goozex forums and ask their advice as well. I try not to be too picky about used games, but as I stated before, even GameStop wouldn't sell something in this condition.

I am matched to trade Fallout New Vegas Honest Hearts DLC on goozex, it's a code so whenever I trade a code on there I PM the person to confirm before sending out another PM with the code. I clicked that I'd "ship" within 3 days, tomorrow is going to be the 3rd day now and I still haven't had a response PM from the other user. So I guess what I'm wondering is do I just send a PM with the code tomorrow and confirm shipped or will the person be pissed about that? the issue is it's a code, so I don't want to have my code somehow stolen if I send it.

I would recommend shipping and pming the code. Shipping, especially with confirmation, should help you out if an issue were to arise.

So here's a fun story I need to get off my chest. I know there's nothing I can do, but I want to rant about it.

Last month, I sent out a copy of House of the Dead 2 for DC. I listed it as disc only, but when I went to mail it, I realized I had the full package, so I sent everything out (including a DVD case insert I printed from The Cover Project). With about 3 or 4 days remaining before feedback auto-closes, I receive my first negative ever in my 5 years on Goozex.

The feedback states that the disc plays the first level, and nothing beyond that. When I sent it, I did notice some scratches on the disc, but it didn't look like anything that would effect game play. I sent the buyer a message apologizing, explained that it worked when I used to play it, but admitted that was years ago and I hadn't tested before sending. I asked if he would be willing to cancel the transaction so I wouldn't get a negative, and return the game to me at my cost. He responded quickly, saying that it would be no problem.

Several days go by, and he doesn't cancel the transaction. I'm stuck with the negative. I message him about it, he says he's been busy with school, but he'll contact Goozex and needs my address to return the game. Great!

3 weeks later: no word or game. I message him again. He responds that he's returning the game now, and not to worry about reimbursement. Yesterday, the game shows up...and *only* the game. No sign of the manual or insert that I included when I sent it to him. The disc is also severely damaged, scratched to hell -- honestly, it doesn't even look like the disc I sent.

I sent him a follow up message to ask about the case/manual, but told him I'll forget about it (like I have a choice?) if he will follow through and ask Goozex about removing the feedback. So far, I've gotten no response.

Like I said, I know there's nothing I can do, but I just had to rant.

I still like Goozex, but lately it seems the people who have stuck with it are less reliable.

My biggest pet peeve with Goozex are the "busy with school" excuses. I'm not asking you to personally deliver the game to me, just go to the post office.

^that sucks man
still waiting for this guy to send the Pokemon blue manual instead of that printed crap. It times out in 2 days. He says he shipped it but i dont trust him.

seems my last 2 trades were not the best.
First the guy forgot to send Assassin's Creed 2 and i left him negative feedback but changed it when it got here.
The second sends me a printed copy of the Pokemon blue manual

Yeah, I've enjoyed selling my hundreds/thousands of games/movies on other services since Goozex' member base is incredibly small and no one puts anything up for trade. Also enjoy not paying $2 for a Trade Token now to try and cover the dying site. Looks like the active trades is now only 2700ish. And that's with free trading for PS3/Blu people.

You seem to forget it was a much bigger number only a few months ago (i.e. add another thousand onto that number).

The base of people trading is shrinking - even with them giving free takes to PS3/Blu owners.

This was even mentioned 2 years ago:

It's bumming me out. Number of active trades is getting perilously close to 4,000, and it had been at over 4,500 not too long ago.

But hey, go ahead and pay them $3 to ship a game so you can save $1 on the token...

With Best Buy and such now taking trades, the reasons to go to Gooxex are getting smaller and smaller.

i want to scream at this guy

heres how the story started:
MG, checked my mail and this showed up on my door.

From Goozex. I already knew what it was.
Pokemon Blue with Manual for 400 points.
I already have the game and box just wanted it for the manual to make a complete set.

Instead I get this:

What do you think I should do.
Im thinking negative Feedback and ask WTF?
You printed out the manual

Heres what happened after i left negative feedback when i wanted to leave negative feedback:

Buyer reported feedback for the trade: NEUTRAL (I requested a "Full Package" or "Disc + Manual", but received a "Disc Only") with the following message:

Posted by: Buyer on May 28, 2011 - 02:10:43

No Manual. Sent a printed copy of the manual.
Beware.

Posted by: Seller on May 30, 2011 - 13:10:23

did you not get the second manual I sent?

Posted by: Buyer on May 31, 2011 - 16:21:59

no, i have not received it yet. hence the neutral feedback.

Posted by: Seller on June 02, 2011 - 18:50:37

I am sending another, I do not know why the other never arrived.

Posted by: Buyer on June 03, 2011 - 12:15:10

i think im just gonna cancel the trade and send your stuff back

Posted by: Seller on June 05, 2011 - 11:13:14

but i sent you the stuff, I am working to resolve this, please work with me

Traders: As a reminder, Neutral feedback provides the seller with points for the sale, but they take a -10 feedback score for the failure to provide all contents that were requested. There are no refunds for neutral feedback. With that being said, maybe the seller would like to accept the feedback, and move on. Seller: Please provide us with verification that you shipped a complete manual to resolve this case. Failure to provide us with evidence within 7 days may result in the finalization of the feedback. Buyer: We apologize for the inconvenience here. Please provide us with any status updates on your end. You may write us an email at any time: Traders: When you email [email protected] please include all pertinent information, including both Goozex user's nicknames and the title of the item traded. Also, if the dispute times out the feedback may temporarily show up on your trading history. Please do not be alarmed as the dispute is not finalized and closed until Goozex manually does so, meaning that feedback is always adjustable by Goozex until finalization. If the dispute times out and you would like to request conclusion, please write [email protected] outlining all pertinent information.

I just got Monsters Inc. DVD for the kids to watch, and it's scratched to hell and keeps skipping... also the part of the case that holds the other disc is cracked at the bottom hinge (which is a very minor issue to me though), all I really wanted was a working disc... what should I do?

same thing happened to me with american dad season 2 a while back.
it kept skipping and was scratched heavily ,I gave a negative and asked for his address to give it back, the guy never replied heh
So yeah, just give a negative if its not working

I'm still waiting on 400 points from this game, game got to him last saturday and he's on Vacation , bummer

the question I'm asking myself though is if it's even worth shipping it back out for 150 points, I can get points easily enough. idk i'll give it a day and maybe try cleaning the disc / watching it thru again to see how bad it really is, if it still is skipping then i'll neutral or negative.

I've always used Goozex as a niche service—I'm particularly interested in older PC games—it's a great way to get rid of stuff that's just sitting around, and sometimes Goozex points are a cheaper currency. I really don't get people who rely on it for new stuff.

It's not the ideal market for people who are short on patience or sanity.

Tokens are still $1 for people with 500+ feedback.

Question: Whats the cheapest way to ship a single DS cart (game only, no box or manual). I don't think USPS does Delivery Confirmation for regular letters?

Does anyone have any luck trading their free PS Plus games through goozex. Most of em I'm never interested in playing and it seems like an easy way to pick up some extra points.

It sucks, but just buy the manual on eBay and move on. The Seller obviously does not have the manual and just hoped you would forget about it.

Honestly, if I was still on Goozez (or bought it from eBay, Half.com, here etc.), and you shipped me a DS cartridge through a normal envelope, I'd be pissed. You know how much abuse letters receive going through numerous machines? Or that the game might get 'squeezed' out? Just buy a $1 envelope and ship normally.

Still waiting for Alice to be traded. Ugh I thought I'd get it sooner, I mean Duke Nukem has already been traded a bunch of times and they came out the same day. Ah well.
Question: Whats the cheapest way to ship a single DS cart (game only, no box or manual). I don't think USPS does Delivery Confirmation for regular letters?
Envelope?? Really? You want to mail a game just using an envelope? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you planned on padding it, but really, just put the game in an padded bubble wrapper. It will be much safer that way. Back on topic, Delivery confirmation is available for letters, but I think it's cheaper if it's mailed as a "package".
Still waiting for Alice to be traded. Ugh I thought I'd get it sooner, I mean Duke Nukem has already been traded a bunch of times and they came out the same day. Ah well.
Tons more folks bought the Duke, and it's a shorter game by far, especially with the original Alice included with Madness.

I don't see that one trading too much.

Heck, The First Templar has been out 6 weeks and hasn't traded once, either. And there I am, sitting at number 2. Maybe I'll get it before the year is out.
Alone in the Dark ps3 jumped 100 pts..oh well I'm still going to get it
If it's anything like the 360 version, do yourself a favor and skip it. Terrible.

Also: did anyone else get a "Item Point Change" e-mail that's all sorts of fucked up? Example:

Illbleed Dreamcast -50 200
Illbleed Dreamcast +50 250
Illbleed Dreamcast +100 200

Picross DS Nintendo DS +50 400
Picross DS Nintendo DS +50 350
Picross DS Nintendo DS +100 300

What in the hell is this?

Got pretty much the same email, it sucked because everything on my want list jumped on average about 100 points. Unfortunately I don't think anything on my offers list got a points bump.
Got pretty much the same email, it sucked because everything on my want list jumped on average about 100 points. Unfortunately I don't think anything on my offers list got a points bump.
Pretty much the same for me.

Hilarious. I had a few things in my want list, and all jumped 100 points. Yeah, Uncharted, a 3 year old game, is 550 points.

So how long do we give Goozex? 6 months?

I think the point inflation is entirely fair. If a game is highly in demand, the point value should be raised to encourage trading. A lot of my DS games went up in value, which encourages me to trade them on Goozex. Until the recent implementation of the new algorithm, I was considering trading some of my lower-valued DS games to a local game store rather than only getting 100 points. Now, it seems things have evened out a bit.

I'm a fan.

I checked the trade activity on some games and it seems that several have jumped since the algo adjustment happened. If the point increases have led to more more games moving through the system then mission accomplished. Hopefully this trend will continue.

I let my curiosity get the best of me and decided to read your post. So you cite one game and come to the conclusion (yet again) that the site is on it's last legs? Yup, you're still a broken record and still a joke. Well played, Chicken Little, well played. :applause:

Besides all that, didn't you quit Goozex a while back? And yet you still have games on a want list? It sure seems that you say one thing yet do another. I haven't missed a thing by not reading your posts. Back to the ignore list with you.

I need some reminding. I received a game listed as "full package" but it didn't have the manual. The sender acknowledged that he knowingly sent it with no manual. So does this get a neutral or negative?

I know the rules say you are supposed to give a neutral, but I would give a negative. So stupid when people do this crap because they want to move their priority up. Luckily, I haven't had someone do that to me yet (knock on wood).
