Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!

Rules for all products (also apply to items that are considered a bundle, collector's edition, special edition, limited edition, bonus edition, etc.):

 • Full Package: Item shipped must include ALL original content that was present at the time of original purchase (case, insert, manual, discs, accessories, maps, etc.).
 • Disc & Manual: Item shipped must include ALL of the disc(s) & manual, and all original content that affects the playability of the game. Case is optional.
 • Disc Only: Item shipped must include ALL of the disc(s) and all original content that affects the playability of the game . Case & manual are optional.

I get that, shieryda, I'm certainly not giving a positive. I'm really trying to clarify whether I can give a negative or just a neutral.
I get that, shieryda, I'm certainly not giving a positive. I'm really trying to clarify whether I can give a negative or just a neutral.
It's a neutral. The game has to be incorrect or broken for it to be a negative.
It sucks, but that's the way it is.

But he said that the manual was missing. That would make an incorrect (incomplete) game, right? Wouldn't it be negative?
But he said that the manual was missing. That would make an incorrect (incomplete) game, right? Wouldn't it be negative?
Incomplete is neutral. It's listed clear as day when you go to leave feedback. Under neutral when choosing a reason for the feedback, there is this option: "I requested full package or disc + manual, but received a disc only"

neocisco could contact goozex, or a moderator at goozex about the seller admitting to knowingly sending out disc only. That way there's a record of that user, and they can keep an eye on him.

It still is neutral feedback though. Hopefully in the future goozex will implement harsher penalties to sellers for doing this. It's one of the main complaints in the goozex forums.

It makes no sense, for as long as Goozex has been up, that there isn't an option for disc and case only. This problem is only going to become more and more common with more companies phasing out printed manuals.

They should also allow for sellers to get extra points if they send complete vs. disc only. So for example, a complete game would get 600 points, a disc + manual would get 550 points, and a disc only would get 500 points.

So let's say I order DJ Hero Bundle w/ Turntable as a Disc/Manual option. Would they have to include the Turntable because it affects the play-ability of the game?

If a game does not come with a manual at retail, then it can be listed as FP without the manual. However, the point about Disc and Case still stands
So let's say I order DJ Hero Bundle w/ Turntable as a Disc/Manual option. Would they have to include the Turntable because it affects the play-ability of the game?
There are 2 listings for DJ Hero, one that is just listed as DJ Hero, and one designated Game Only. If you request the regular listing, I believe the turntable is required for all 3 options. However, the best idea is to PM the seller and ask if they plan on sending the turntable as well.

I'll add it to the OP, too:

How do I leave feedback? After you receive a game, remember to leave feedback for the Goozex member you received it from. You can find this in your "My Requests" page: click on the button "Report Feedback" for the specific game. You can report three types of feedback:

 • Positive feedback: the trade was completed with buyer's satisfaction, and seller's feedback score.
 • Neutral feedback: the buyer has received a game, but it was not in the expected/advertised conditions. Seller's feedback score is decreased (-10).
 • Negative feedback: something went wrong with the trade (game not received, broken, etc). Seller's feedback score is decreased (-20). The buyer will be refunded.
Buyers have up to 21 days for international and 14 in US to report feedback on a trade. This will give you enough time to receive the game, even if shipping delays occur. Goozex will send you a reminder on day 7, 14, and then another reminder on day 18 (depending on the region for trade) to make sure you don't forget!

If feedback is not received by the 14th or 21st day, Goozex will close the trade, and will consider it as a "positive trade". This makes sure sellers do not have to wait indefinitely for buyer's feedback, and can move on to the next trade.

Once you provide feedback for an open trade, that transaction will be definitely closed, and your account will have one open spot for another request to become an "open trade" and be selected for a transaction.

If the trade was particularly good, you may leave a 50 points "tip" to the seller, to show your appreciation. Other users may do the same with you, when you trade the game again.

If you haven't received a game, please wait at least two weeks before submitting feedback, to allow the postal service sufficient time for delivery.

Notes: Feedback cannot be erased. The feedback you give is permanent, so be sure to make only fair and factual comments.
This problem is only going to become more and more common with more companies phasing out printed manuals.
It's been that way for PC games and it's annoying. Traders don't send manuals because they didn't get one when they bought it, so they consider it "complete" even if a version with a manual exists. Worst I got was a web link to a manual. Then the trader gave me a lecture on civility when I only gave a
+5 feedback.

On the positive side, a few weeks ago I got a factory sealed game. That was very much appreciated and I gave the guy a tip. I think that's the 4th game I've received that was sealed and I give a tip every time.

I don't think I've ever been tipped, and I've sent a sealed BR and Homefront with the online code unused.
I don't think I've ever been tipped, and I've sent a sealed BR and Homefront with the online code unused.
Yeah, I consider it a dick move to not give a tip on sealed games.

The whole neutral feedback for incomplete copies is bullshit. I sucks requesting a 1000 point game, getting it with something missing (usually a sleeve) and having no recourse against the seller unless it's a new users, in which case their active requests/offers are limited for a short while.

This is the next thing Goozex needs to fix but I doubt they will because this will result in 10x more cases they have to review every week.
I don't think I've ever been tipped, and I've sent a sealed BR and Homefront with the online code unused.
Since it's an unwritten law, not everyone will follow it. It's one thing when newbies do it but I've had users with lots of feedback not give me a tip for sending a new game.

I tip very generously... if an item is in decent shape given its age (more lenient for older games) or if they include any extras I was unaware of (like cards or posters with games), I don't mind giving them 50 points. Hell, in some cases, I wish I could tip more.
Yeah, I consider it a dick move to not give a tip on sealed games.
How is it a dick move? No one should ever expect a tip. I personally could care less if a game is new or used. I just want it in good condition and working. Since I don't care, I don't always tip for new items. So call me MR. DICK! :booty:

The seal is essentially an assurance that you're getting a quality product. If you don't appreciate that assurance, that's your choice and that's fine. Since that's the case, post your Goozex username so anyone hear can be sure not to send you a sealed game since it doesn't matter to you. :booty:

I usually give a tip for sealed games, but not always. I figure that to send a sealed game, you are probably already getting a good deal. Then again, the few times I've gotten a sealed game, it was 100-300pt titles.

I wish I was matched up to trade with CAGs more often! I would say that when sending sealed games I have received a tip 25% of the time so I guess alot of goozex users don't follow the 'unwritten law'. The tips were so infrequent that I usually don't bother sending sealed games if I have them any longer.

I guess based on that it has impacted how often I tip on goozex, but I usually do for brand new games, games that come with pre-order/bonus stuff unredeemed, or the various classic game that comes in nice condition. About the only time I remember not tipping on a "brand new" game was when I received a new "not for resale" copy of God of War III accompanied by a post it note that explained why I should leave a tip. I think I convinced myself that it was from the Ultimate Edition and the user was probably selling all the DLC codes on ebay for top dollar. Or maybe the game was slit open just to verify the disc was there and not actually brand new and sealed. Can't remember, but the post it note did give me a laugh.

It is really up to each user, but I would encourage leaving a tip if you feel it is warranted based on what you receive. I can understand a user not wanting to leave a tip on a game that cost then 100-300 points, but in the end the 50 points is a nice gesture and costs you very little.

Didn't realize people expected tips for sealed games. Been with Goozex for awhile and never knew of this unwritten rule. I personally don't care if a game is sealed or not. I have received plenty of open games that are in great condition so a sealed game is pretty meh. I only tip if the seller throws in some fun goodies or I get some unused DLC codes or if I feel the game is underpriced. Although I did get what seemed like a factory sealed, fairly rare, PS1 game that I just had to give a tip for.

Edit:
Wow. Before anyone thinks I'm Scroogy-Mc No Tip, I looked over my history and I've given out about 27 tips and received only 4.

With the mention of tips I ended up doing a quick look to see my own tipping history (both given and received).

Tips received (out of about 300 games sent out):
17 for sealed games
6 for fast shipping , bonus content included with the game , being in really good shape
2 for a generally good trade (no real reasons stated)

Tips given (out of about 500 games received):
17 for sealed games (coincidence?)
4 for bonus content included with the game
16 for generally good trades (about 10 of these I left no comment for oddly)

As for trade activity on the site , since the new algorithm went into place I've been getting more trade activity then I have in the last few months.

I don't mind not getting tipped for sending a sealed game, but I at least like to have it acknowledged in the comments. Just a quick "Brand new, thanks!" makes me know they appreciate it. Some people just leave feedback without a word.

If you receive a sealed game, all that usually means is the seller got the game following a big sale and was able to send it out before the request queue vacated.

Also, if you got the game from Target, Kmart, or one of the other big box stores that has a history of this sort of thing, I'd think twice before sending it out used. There have been reports of people receiving empty re-sealed games.

Who gives a rat's ass what the provenance is, when you get a brand new game for points (the value of which for most users is < $$).

You mean before sending it out sealed. Anyways, I'd wager that happens much less often than the user forgetting to put the disc or manual in the package before mailing. And also less likely than the USPS destroying or losing it.

just because you have never received a tip, doesn't mean you can't give one, there are some serious cheap people on here even at 50 pts tip!
Why the hell is SSFIV Arcade Edition 1000 points? It costs $40 at retail!
that's the way it is with new releases, SSF4 was pushed to 1,000 along with other $40 titles at the time. Supply and demand

well looks like 1200 of my points will be tied up for what 2 weeks

someone said they are going to send me the entire wm collection dvd set (what sells for like 200 bucks)

they will never ship it

I thought my 900 points was gonna be tied up too, but nope, the Limited Edition for Bioshock 2 came in a big ass (for Goozex packages) used Amazon box. It's not mint, but it's not beat to hell either. The LP looks great, the CD soundtrack is sealed, and the ads are still rolled up. Guy never even confirmed shipping either, and had only a few trades, so color me surprised.

Wish I had somewhere proper to display this thing.

Well after the discussion on tips and sealed games I decided to do a bit of an experiment with the next group of games I sent out. In total I sent out 9 games, all brand new & sealed. I shipped all of them within 1 day of accepting the trade and even upgraded the shipping by using a flat rate Priority envelope. I confirmed everything shipped and included the DC# the evening I dropped the games off at the post office. I'd say what I just described is the highest level of service you could receive from a trader on goozex and I don't think anyone here would debate that what I described above is "tip-worthy".

So I received a tip on the first feedback so it had me immediately thinking that maybe I had underestimated the average goozex user. Well the next 2 feedbacks were both positive and even included comments on how the games were brand new & sealed, but I did not receive a tip for either. One of the games was a sealed Lips bundle w/1mic, which cost way too much to ship. The user had 40 trades under their belt too, so its not like it was someone new to goozex.

All the other games have already arrived or will arrive in the next day or two so I guess we will see how it all turns out.

I think you're just setting yourself up for disappointment, but that's just cynical ol' me. I'd definitely tip for that level of care—if I had currently had the points. This last month I got sucked dry. Maybe the people who don't tip can't afford it.

Urgh, I'm trying to get out of Goozex. I'm down to my last 100 points. There are some 100 point games I want, have active, and am at the front of the line, but no one is trading them. I'd dip $ for more points but there's nothing that I really consider worth it at 200 or even 300 points when I'm putting in $5 per 100 points.

I'm tempted to get a DVD, but I feel like most 100 point DVDs I'm interested in can be had for under $5/100 points elsewhere.

I'll probably just end up caving in and cashing out on a DVD.

Yea, I wasn't really expecting to get tipped on every transaction, but I figured after the discussion about tips I'd put my best foot forward just to see what happens.

So just to update, I have received feedback on 7 of the 9 items I sent brand new and sealed. I have received tips on only 2 of the transactions. I'm going to assume at this point that I'm not going to receive tips on either of the open trades. Not sure why these people keep these trades open for more than a week after receiving the game. I'm not the type to send out a PM the day the game arrives asking for feedback, I am fine with a few days of leeway, but waiting a week or more after receiving a game to leave feedback is pretty crappy.

Ive never given a tip and i dont thinks ive ever got a sealed games.
I just check and i have but had points to tip, which i posted. also was shipped a sealed spectrobes but the box was dented.

But at one time i got 5 Tips in a row,, all DVD box sets that i got from a lowball and last Black friday sales.

Ive also sent out a lot of sealed stuff but never expected a tip
maybe ill start thinking differrent

Also just wondering in anyone here gets games from clearance or on sale for a cheap Goozex flip.

Got Tv Superstars @ Target for $5 and flipped it for 450 points.
Just curious if anyone does this?

I did that EXACT flip a week ago.

I actually just received a sealed copy of XBLA Triple Pack, which has a 2 day XBL trial and 160 MSP in it, so I'm definitely gonna tip for that.

I sent out TV Superstars sealed, but I didn't expect a tip and I wasn't disappointed when I didn't get one.

ya i didnt send it sealed cause the disc was flopping around so i had to open it to put it back.

Just got The Last Airbender for Wii for $5.
Wish i didnt as i see no one wants it.

Here's my issue:

My 900 point game was supposed to have been confirmed shipped by August 18. I never received a shipping confirmation and contacted the the seller twice with no response. My Goozex e-mail (the one informing me about leaving feedback before the transaction is closed, 4 days left before feedback is automatically left) arrived early Sunday morning, and I promptly left a negative.

The seller disputed the feedback last night, with a message stating that he was recovering from surgery and forgot to mail out the game prior to his surgery. Also, he stated that the game was mailed out August 26 with a confirmation number.

I'm kinda bummed that I'm being charged 900 points for a game that I haven't received, and have left negative feedback. Is there any way that Goozex would credit my account for the difference (150 points) for my troubles, or am I stuck waiting for my game even longer now and having to pay the higher point value?

This is only about the 3rd bad transaction I've had, so I'm not very familiar with how the whole negative feedback thing works.

I believe that Goozex prioritizes a completed transaction over the satisfaction of either party, so if the seller can prove that the game got to you, it'll stand as normal (original points, positive, etc.) If the seller can't prove it got there, then you'll get your points back, and you'll just be out the time and sanity.
I could be wrong, though. You might try pushing your case that you should pay the lower point cost because of the time involved, but they might say that it was your transaction that made the value go down (which is happening more rapidly these days).
The seller disputed the feedback last night, with a message stating that he was recovering from surgery and forgot to mail out the game prior to his surgery.
I'm getting too nervous to list games on Goozex to trade. It seems a disproportionate number of traders suffer calamities that keep them from getting to the post office for weeks.

i send out all my games within 3 days and most times Priority.
Currently mailing 2 box sets (Archer and Girlmore Girls) and a PS3 game( Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11).

But it seems when i get stuff it takes the person awhile to get here.
Wish we could do CAG only Goozex, that might be cool
