Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!
This might be old shoe, but I just received an email from Goozex about a survey that can win you 2 free trade tokens.

Linkage
I got to the 3rd question, and got disqualified for the rest of the survey. Make sure you choose "none of the above" for answers pertaining to employment or previous survey opportunities.

Just got my first Blu-ray from Goozex and I'm very disappointed. I requested a version of The Wrestler with the Digital Copy but the Digital Copy disc wasn't in the case. Bad form indeed.

I've dumped some high point games (Boy and His Blob, Arkham Asylum, and Guitar Hero 5) lately. So now I have a bunch of games on request.

What's really weird is I added Uncharted: Drake's Fortune this afternoon. It said there'd be a long wait, I think I was 102nd in line. So I thought "Whatever, I'll just leave it in here and take it out once I buy it." Then I see I get an email saying a match was found and they accepted it. I also got a match for Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction today when I was 45th in line and I also just entered it today.

Does it find matches based on your score?

Nope (AFAIK). You probably just got lucky that you had the points and tokens ready to use , and all the other people ahead of you apparently didn't.:)

Right now a lot of people are also probably spending more of their points on movies , rather than games , since movies don't cost trade tokens at the moment.

I think the way they treat Digital Copy is like DLC for games. They are one time usage, so not required. Of course it doesn't help when they make the title of the movies 'With Digital Copy" but that's probably straight from Muse or whatever database they draw from.

What happens is that there are people, like me, who have requested the game and are squatting on their place in line. (Waiting for point value to drop, don't have enough points to trade, don't have trade tokens, etc) You can put games on hold and you maintain your spot in line; if people ahead of you are sent a copy, you move up but are still on hold. So you were truly the 45th person in line, but the 1st person in line with enough points/trade credits who is actively requesting the game.

And WTF!?! I put a game up for trade and agreed to send it out but my points are on hold until positive feedback is received? I'm not a goozex noob, I've done over a hundred trades. Not very happy about this...

They're doing that to long-time users? I can understand for newer users but only up to a certain point. I like Goozex but the people who run the site have a lot to learn about customer service.

I find it hard to believe that there are 100 (for UC) and 44 (for R&C) ahead of me that were ineligible/on hold. But whatever.

Really? I've been getting the points for games I send as soon as I accept the trade. I joined in July and have sent 9 games out.

It just says until positive feedback - it really is until you confirm it being shipped

I had Castlevania: Circle of the Moon with guide requested. Found a match but it timed out (the guy had 0/0 so must be new). Now it matched with that user again. Kind of annoying now since I have to wait another 26 hours.

Sit tight, if the same game times out twice from the same member it will automatically be put on hold for them.

Can someone help me out here. I've tried searching the forums but I couldn't find what I'm looking for.

I read somewhere online that I can't recall now, that if you prepare your shipping and delivery confirmation label from another place outside of Goozex, it's actually cheaper?

Can anyone point me to anything in that direction? Thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind I somehow missed the link in the colorful OP.

BUT, this still stands:

Also, do you guys recommend putting your own address in the return address spot, or putting Goozex's?

I recommend putting yours, but that's only because if it happens to get lost or is undeliverable, it'll actually come back to you. You wouldn't believe how many people I've seen with zip codes of 12345 in the Goozex system.

Heads up - all movie trades are free (they'll cost points, but not tokens) till mid-January, and if you trade 10 movies, you can request a free DVD/Blu from Goozex from a preselected list. Remember, if you use a .edu email address, free trades on all items (games and movies) till mid-January.

I put Goozex's. I think they ship it if it has to return to sender. I don't know if they pay for it or end up charging you. All my trades have ended up where they need to be though.

I use paypal shipping, so it automatically is setup to print my address - would be too much of a pain to just edit it for goozex shipping.

Just requested Star Trek as my free Blu-ray for sending out 10 movies.
Was up to about 4000 pts sending all those out, but got about the same back and down to 200pts again.

I ordered Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360) through the Goozex Exchange on November 25th and I just got Left 4 Dead 2 (PC) in from Amazon. Emailed their Customer Service about them fixing this ASAP since it is a Christmas gift. And I double checked my confirmation email and it confirmed that I did indeed order the 360 version so it was their mistake.

Goozex changed their terms of use recently. You must read and accept the new terms in order to continue using the site. Some of the wording has me a little nervous, because they say they can cancel your account at any time for no reason (kinda like getting terminated from a job).:cold:

As long as you aren't doing anything wrong you probably don't have anything to worry about. Since they make money off users buying trade tokens (and points) it wouldn't really be in their best interest to cancel your account without good reason.

I requested a GBA game (FF Tactics Advance). The guy sent it in a regular envelope which tore during shipping and the game fell out.

I assume I pick "I have not received the game" when leaving negative feedback (which I can't do for 4 more days).

yeah, as far as I know that is what you do.

That's correct and that sucks. Be honest about your feedback, though. Keep the goozex community strong n honest. I've been lucky and only received a few games w/o manuals.

I messaged the guy yesterday and he replied. Said he thought it would be secure and then ended the message with "Thanks for the nice christmas gift..."

What the hell does that mean? It's your own fault the game fell out. I have to wait a week before I can request the game again.

They cancelled my account. I have a feedback score of 270, and I got ONE negative. Why? I had to ship a game out to canada, without a tracking #. Buyer left me a negative after 2 weeks saying he didn't get it. Idk if they didn't actually get it, or just said that, but now my account is "disabled". I had 3300 points and 27 tokens. I've sent Goozex 5-6 emails, to all their possible email accounts. They're just gonna ignore me and keep my points/tokens. What a great site

Nope, I can't sign into the forums. It tells me my account is disabled. Great, i'm out 3300 points, and 27 trade tokens and goozex couldn't care less.

So can anyone tell me when goozex typically adds new games to the system so I can request them? I'm a new seller and I'm stuck with over 3000 points and what seems like nothing at all to get. The wait is to long on absolutely everything.

Goozex Exchange: http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/changeproducts.asp
You can cash in a LARGE amount of your points in the Goozex Exchange for an immediate trade directly from Goozex. I think everything from the exchange is brand new but everything is like 1000 points more than trying to get something via the waiting list.

Available Games: http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/searchresult.asp?fic=G
Available Movies: http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/searchresult.asp?fic=V
Or click on the Available games or Movies option which shows you everything thats available for an immediate trade.

= Also Im 1st in line in waiting for the movie Everything is Illuminated If anyone has it (Full Package Only) and is wants to trade it I would really appreciate you putting it up for trade on Goozex.

I may put this up, I have 9 movie trades and need 1 more for the free movie. A part of me wants to keep this even though I know I'll probably never watch it again. If I still haven't gotten any other trades for my movies by then you'll probably be getting my copy.

I'm starting to wonder if theres any point in even trying to get new games from goozex. I added bayonetta and darksiders the morning they got put up and I'm still like 146th in line. I have 3000 points and it seems like all I can get are old 100 point games.

Yeah. I'm relatively new to the site, but was sitting on 2000 points for quite awhile before I was able to get anything. I finally got bumped to the front of the line and was able to get MUA2. I'm still like 150th in line for AC2 though, which I added like three weeks ago. I'm also around 90th in line for FOGOTY, which I added around the same time as AC2.

It seems to take ridiculously long to get anything unless you're getting stuff that is at least eight months old. I was going to use my excess points and try to get ME2 when it comes out at the end of the month, but I'm not sure if I'm going to bother. I'll probably wind up picking up stuff like Godfather 2 and Prince of Persia.

What time did you add Darksiders b/c I'm 141st (though I plan on buying it soon).

Getting new games is kinda annoying. In fact, getting games lately has been slow. I have a bunch of games I've had in my Requests and have barely moved after a month. Even some cheap game like I-Ninja I was barely moving.

I think Goozex needs to change their points for some games. Take Zak & Wiki. It's 150 pts and has a long wait.

I've started adding games to my On-Hold and just requesting them when they're cheaper. I added Arkham Asylum since I'd like it for PS3 and traded my 360 one in last month. I also added Demon's Souls since I'd like to try it out and figure a lot of people are going to trade it in when they get tired of the difficulty.

I've noticed things not moving either. I'm 36th in line for Dirt 2, which I added back at the beginning of October. I was around 40th in line at that time. If I view the stats, there is a total of one trade for that game going on right now. Stuff is just moving incredibly slow.

I'm kind of on the fence as far as adding stuff to my requests goes though. Like, I wouldn't mind picking up Godfather 2, but I'm just worried that as soon as I buy it, it'll drop by 50 or 100 points. I'm not exactly sure when they decide its time to drop the cost of certain games.

Probably why everything is moving slow is the free trades for college students (thee reason why I've requested a lot lately). Though I did get Uncharted 1 and Tools of Destruction pretty quick when I was 30-40 in line.

So I'm really pissed because I traded out a movie that I know was in brand spankin new condition and the buyer is claiming that it's unplayable. I just bought this movie, watched it once, and listed it on goozex. There isn't a single scratch or smudge on the disc. he recieved the game over a week ago and is just now leaving negative feedback.

What type of negative did he leave you? If he hasn't received it, as long as you have delivery confirmation Goozex will side with you. Shit happens on the site from time to time, I recently gave out 3 negatives consecutively due to scammers.

Well, he said he got negative for unplayable, so he just needs to dispute it with Goozex.
What confuses me, is it a movie or game?

Oops my mistake, think my mind somewhere on that one >,

It was for a movie, only 100 points which isn't a giant deal but it's really the principal of it because I know the disc couldn't have possibly been better short of still being shrink wrapped. My problem is the buyer is someone with a large ammount of feedback and I'm relatively new. I'm just concerned it's someone trying to swap out their old broken disc with mine. For example he already owned a copy all scratched up and when I dispute he will send away his already scratched disc. I know it sounds a little crazy but honestly this is how confused I am about this negative.

Anyone finding more and more people don't use a tracking number now so they can say they ship an item when they actually don't? I've gotten two people in a row that tell me an item has shipped and they don't provide a tracking number. Two weeks later I get the game and the shipping date on the package is like a week after they confirm shipped.

It's getting pretty irritating. Any way these people who are doing this just so they can get points right away can be reported to Goozex?
Nothing you can really do since it's not grounds for a Neutral feedback and you do get the game.
Yeah, I give them positive feedback, but I make sure to include a comment about them doing this. I just find it kind of lame.

I've been getting a shitload of games without tracking numbers. I'm not a dishonest person so I always leave the proper feedback but I remember to leave a snide comment. One of these days, those traders are going to get fucked by some guy who's going to claim he never got the game and they'll have no evidence to back it up. I always ship my shit via PayPal so delivery confirmation costs only 19 cents which is a price I'm willing to pay to protect myself.
Take as long to leave feedback equal to the time they took to actually send.
I would do this, but they're already established traders. They do this just so they can get their points immediately. If they were a new seller and did this, I'd definitely take as long as possible to give them their feedback/points.

You're right, unfortunately. Once someone is well enough established they have plenty of trade slots open that delaying feedback won't really affect them.
