Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!

The doom and gloom outlook is by a small percentage and those are just people not happy with the service. If you are a patient person and can wait for trades to happen, then you will be happy with the service. You may wait a few days to a few months for some trades to happen but it does depend on what you are requesting. If you request those rare hard to find games, then yes, you will be waiting till the cows come home.

This month I have already received 14 or 15 items.

I have 4 games I'm considering getting rid of:

Punch-Out (700 pts, bought for $21.xx from GameFly)
Shadow of the Colossus (300 pts, bought last year, still haven't gotten to playing)
Jack and Daxter: The Lost Frontier (PS2, 300 pts, bought at Target Clearance, sealed since I have my own copy)
Warhawk (350 pts, got when it was 200 pts)

The only thing I can get right now that I definitely know I want is Arkham Asylum. I had it for 360 and traded it into Goozex. 700 pts right now. I've had it on hold since I traded my 360 copy it and this is the lowest it's been.

After calculating the dollars to points ratio for some of my games (vs. selling them on eBay), I decided to Goozex 5 of them (limit for me being a newer user?) Sending out about 2000 pts worth of stuff. From what you guys have said about getting good places in line, I figured out that I just need to be online at 1 a.m. EST to get a good spot in line on games. I tried it tonight (since there aren't any big releases) and I got into line spot #2 on a game :) Any other advice about getting those games you want?

Other question. I recently got NCAA 11 for 360, so I just added it to my On Hold offers. It says "You are the first in line!" Does this mean that I can leave it like this for months, but as soon as I activate, I'll be the first in line?

I love Goozex and never had any problems.
A few times Ive sent out sealed games and got tips and have gotten some sealed games.
Never had a problem with them. I order games that I'm in no rush to play so they can take their time.

Currently playing: Dragon Quest IX so that's keeping me busy.
On Request I have Overlord on the way and a bunch of DS games that I'm in the top ten waiting.

My favorite thing to do is Search the systems I have 360/DS and search available by points lowest to highest. I find lots of cool games that way.

And with 1450 points right now that can be a lot of cheap games.

There are 21 offers on hold at the moment, so he probably has 20 people ahead of him. As long as he keeps the game on hold, he'll never be further back than 21, at least.

I see a copy of NCAA 11 is showing up in the "Available Now" teaser on the home page. I'm guessing that's yours. I didn't realize games instantly put on hold qualified to appear there. I'm disappointed.

If there are games available, he's first in line and activates an on hold game, he will probably get it right away. I doubt someone ahead of him will activate THEIR game at exactly the same time.

He was talking about leaving his game on hold for months, and then re-activating it. If those people in front of him re-activate before does, he won't appear to be first in line any longer.

Just make sure it makes sense for you. That's $10 in shipping right there to mail those 4 games out and who knows when (or if) you will get product. So far it's been one person who has supplied me with a few DVDs/BDs this month. ONE person.
 
I wasn't going to trade all 4 right now, 2 at most. I was leaning towards Punch-Out and Shadow of the Colossus. No one here wants either since the former is cheap and the latter will be worthless once the Team ICO collection comes out.

Movies have always had a much slower turnover rate than games on Goozex. Don't act so surprised.
 
I have received two movies and two games in the last two weeks after a two month slump :). I almost gave up on you goozex!!

They're new additions to the site (retro gaming has the same problem), and movies are generally much easier to find on the cheap than games.

The movie marketplace also has the unique problem of people dumping DVDs and UMDs to trade up to Blurays. Because of this, DVDs aren't worth that much (nor should they be) and Blurays are in very high demand.
 
While I know I may need to move on to Blu-Ray at some point, I'm very content with DVDs, for the most part. I love the availability of DVDs on Goozex. Just requested a childhood favorite because the Widescreen version was finally available.
 
Yes but occasionally it gets pushed back to 130 AM est (Im looking at you NCAA 11)


Speaking of that, I hope for some reason that people will dump their copies of NCAA 11 once they get Madden like people seemingly do with Gamestop's promotional trade in deal every year. I'm 8th in line for it. I want to get it before October at the latest, but I'm hoping for earlier. I have other games to play as of now.

Might be people shifting the request from active to on hold.

Know I used to add requests as active for no apparent reason on new title nights, only to throw it on hold immediately after.

Starting to regret blowing my points. Games starting to come out that I actually want...
 
The process for getting points and tokens credited to your account after leaving negative feedback is fucked. They say you need to wait 24-72 business hours after a trade is closed, but that is just way too long. I've been waiting now since August 5 (the weekend fucked me). 24 hours should be the max period of time that a buyer should have to wait after doing everything on his/her part to report that a game has not arrived and leaving negative feedback.

Even though I have Madden for the PS3 on the way to me today from Amazon, I added the 360 version to my queue, got 34th place, but it's since dropped down to 26th. I'm hoping I can get a 360 copy relatively quick so I can play with some of my non-PS3 friends.

The forums are less than great, but they're still alright.

Once a week they host a PS3 night, where they pick a game and folks can participate in some inter-goozex multiplayer action.

Only problem I have with their forums is it seems to be a really close-knit community. I see the same five people posting in every thread, and those five people aren't exactly likable... they act like elitist dicks.

I think I've posted about 5 times on there...
 
Just a word of warning to those requesting Madden whatever it is, if it's used, you may need to pay EA to get the activation code for your game. Those one time codes are not required to be included when trading on Goozex.

I'm cool with that, since I got 1000 points by sending in a $20 copy of Prince of Persia :) An extra $10 for a pass is ight with me, and who knows, maybe my copy will come with the code?
 
Well this sucks.
The girl that was supposed to send me two 100 point DS games, says she can't send them in time since she's going on vacation. Dammit.
One of the games is rare and who knows how long b4 someone post that game.
Hope she repost them
