Wow, only 14 spots left. Looks like some weeding out must be done.
I don't think that will be really needed, I'm sure we can remove the people who said they wanted to join but still don't have XBL or are MIA. I would hate to think that this clan would start throwing out people just becuase they had a low rank.

I'm not top teir so I don't mind not playing in more serious clan matches but I would hate to miss out of the CAG Inter-clan matchs.

...more or less your right. While most people have accepted the clan invite, a first come first serve basis should begin. Possibly rocksolid could seperate the list of people for those who are in the clan and for those who have yet to sign up, but still want to be in it. That way CAGers can see how large the true clan is. It's no college admission process but it may help out down the line.

Had to drop out for now. I might be back on in 20 minutes or so.

I forgot to check out all the clan stuff, so I'm going to do that now. :)
Just finished about 2 hours worth of games with my fellow CAGs. I gotta say zewone and Cheapy are awesome teammates. They had my back the whole time.
Yea right, ledhed you didn't need anyone to have your back. I imagine you are the best CAG Haloer.
I need a longer cat5 cable so i can play all night long without keeping my family up. Any suggestions on where a cheap 100 footer could be found?
I hate to refer EB, but EB B&M has a good 100ft for 15+tax
I would like to keep my color and logo, but whatever. And yeah I hate the drunk/stoned people who seem to play only play after 1 AM.
I, kind sir, am neither drunk nor stoned! However due to my fucked up job, I sometimes can't get on until very late at night. Maybe sometime I will try to play drunk as hell :p ....

well, i will certainly never be cutting people based on skill.

we're currently at 90 members invited, about three-quarters of whom have accepted the invite. if they don't accept it by sunday, and if our list fills up, they will be taken off the list and put on a waiting list. i also realized that by default every person whom i invited to the clan and accepted was made a 'member', who can invite people (therefore we have a couple of, shall we say, rotten apples in the clan). everyone should have started as a 'peon', who can only participate in clan matches. so everyone is back to peon, except for me (overlord), sticky waffles (staff) and cheapy d (member). from here on out promotions will be giving based on performance, communication skills, and participation.

once we're all full and everyone has signed up at bungie.net and linked their gamertag we'll be set for some serious gaming/clan activity. all of the practices have been a blast so far though, i'm really digging playing with you guys. and, it does need to be said, everyone please read your instruction manuals cover-to-cover (and learn all the modes and maps), because hearing things like "so do you have to press the button to talk?" in a clan game is a bit discouraging.

I thinks it's a fair question considering the fact that the Halo 2 mic system is different from any other XBL game I've played and the fact that people like me won't bother to read instructions. :D

But seriously, the game has only been out for a couple of days, I'd much rather have people ask a question and have it answered rather than hoping they read about it in the instruction booklet.

i'm not trying to discourage asking questions (quite the opposite), i'm just saying people should know what they're doing rules-wise before they volunteer for a ranked clan match since they're representing 90+ other people. but yeah, ask away.

well then, we shall have to have a tri-duel. (truel?) :D

I think we should have a noobie halo 2 MP FAQ put on the first post or some other place on CAG. Stuff like what weapons are good/suck, how ranked games are played, why the sword kicks so much ass, duel weapons vs granades and so forth. I think it would be much more helpful then just reading the manual.

These guys are definitely top tier; anytime I get a kill on one of them I feel a great sense of accomplishment.

Zewone? pfft. I eat people like him for breakfast!

I tried to join a game today, but the host had a pretty bad connection. Everyone was lagging. My new ub3rl337 (sorry had to do it) cable modem doesn't b0rk out every time I try to do anything now, so yeah.. send me an invite and you're all goin' down.

Tried to plan in a few clan matches last night but they were so laggy. Dropped out and played a few opti-matches before calling it a night. I'll be on tonight, but will be playing with a friend who is just getting back from a business trip and hasn't played at all yet. Can I add him to my "party" and drag him along for the fun?
Yea right, ledhed you didn't need anyone to have your back. I imagine you are the best CAG Haloer.
A-thank you. But what you saw was an illusion. I only play well when I have reliable people at my back. Otherwise, I fall to shit. You should see me in matches with people I don't know. I play terribly.
These guys are definitely top tier; anytime I get a kill on one of them I feel a great sense of accomplishment.
Always willing to give someone an ego boost. I think it's a bit early to try and pick out the best players. Everyone is still adjusting to the new style of play, and I'm sure everyone will come around soon enough. Even then though, as long as everyone tries their best during actual ranked matches, I don't think we could or should ask for anything more.

And rocksolid, I'm up for a truel anytime.

is there something I have to do in-game to join the clan? is there an invitation or something? when I press Y and look at clan the only option i have is to create one

Someone from the clan has to invite you. When they do, you will see the message pop up (provided you are signed into Live). All you do is click the "accept clan invite" option and you're in. I'm sure rocksolid will, provided we have space as always.

I finally got XBL up and running.

My GamerTag is: DCriminal.

I was playing with the clan last night, but forgot to ask for the invite.
Why can't people have the same name on Live and here?
Cause some people like to confuse others? Or perhaps be confused themselves? I dunno, I like to keep things simple, same username across the board- but different passwords.

Or maybe no one wants to be like the "James'" ...
Why can't people have the same name on Live and here?
You can't change your username for Live or here without creating a new account, which I doubt many people would be willing to do.

Plus, some douchebag already had "Ledhed" on Live. I'm gonna find that guy and kick him in the balls for taking my username.

well, it took a day or so, but it looks like my gamertag is finally linked to my account at bungie.net.

had fun playing with everyone at night. i wont be too dissapointed if i dont make it into some of the serious clan matches, but i do enjoy playing the inter-clan practices....it seems like a really good group of guys.
Why can't people have the same name on Live and here?
Mine is the same on both :)
I need a longer cat5 cable so i can play all night long without keeping my family up. Any suggestions on where a cheap 100 footer could be found?
Check out Home Depot or another hardware store for cheap cable

Space was always going to be an issue though I mean we have 20,000 + members on this site and a clan that will only allow 100. I for one can't wait to get into some heavier action with my new mic, we were kicking other clans ass 2 nights ago with me muted, communicating we should be able to lay some waste.

OK

When is our first practice?

When I registered for Live someone already had my prefered name (Elrod), so I had to go with DCriminal.

Lots of people on Live, so the first (through 15) choices are frequently taken.

Oh, and I will be looking to even the score against Noble Penguin this weekend.

Simply to annoy you.

more accurately, to annoy me.

along those lines, if you're applying for membership at our bungie.net group, make sure that your gamertag is linked, especially if your name on there is different, otherwise i have no idea who you are and will most likely reject you.

what time does everyone plan on playing tonight? I think I keep missing the big matches, and I'd like to participate.

Also how speciallized do we want this clan to get? Should we subdivide into units for practice? and then practice specific jobs, ie. sniping or driving for major clan matches? or have I just geeked out to a new level of geekyness?

Zero Support I hate you! We had some decent matches last night and your name was the only one that I didn't like to see in my crosshairs.
studio - How did you add your gamertag to your username?
Cheapy changed it after I begged him in a PM, I'm sure the donation I made to Child's Play didn't hurt either
I'm not listed at the bungie.net website. My gamertag is linked, but I acciedently wrote in the wrong username. (Thats what happens when I don't look at the keyboard as I type.) you're on the list. i figured it was you and accepted. make sure you're looking on the right list, you're definitely there.

Bankson: haha, i know but we couldn't get a win if our life depended on it, good close games though. Can't wait to do some gaming tonight, lets get some clan matches going CAG needs to represent.
