[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Anytime I try to go to my Wal-Mart on the weekend the ENTIRE parking lot is packed (and this is a parking lot that provides ample parking for 20+ stores) but no matter what time I go to K-Mart to look for deals I always get to park in the front and I can never find an employee to open the game case for me.

Also, the slim has an output for component video to a TV, which the fat doesn't have.

I'm more interested in getting a slim, but I might buy a fat if any are still around until another price drop (which seems very unlikely).

It seems like a lot of games are going back up to full price and no new additions to clearance recently (barring that PSP Value Pack)? Kmart was such a great place for clearance goodies last Fall - it's sad to see such a rapid decline. It's funny how the "hot spots" for clearance games keep moving around - in my time at CAG it started with CC, then TRU, went to Best Buy, then Target, then back to CC, with TRU in there a couple more times, then to Fred Meyer (local Pacific NW chain), to Kmart most of last year (with some brief interruptions from CC again), and now currently it is at Target (though nothing dirt cheap like in the past).

Well I think the problem with Kmart is CAGs have now cleaned up their old inventory. When the focus shifted to Kmart a year or two ago many stores had been untapped, now they've been picked clean. I know when this thread first started I found lots of deals on old games that had been there for who knows how long. Now every time I stop by my closest stores they have the same old crap.

Maybe if the focus shifts again we can give Kmart a chance to build up more old inventory and in a year or two start getting deals again.

That's part of it, certainly. But also it seems they aren't sticking to their old gradual (but fairly regular) clearance schedule. When stuff starts going back up to MSRP that's never good .

I know I posted about 4-5 Wii games that were clearanced about 2 months ago. I haven't been back to see if they have dropped anymore.

The problem at my K-Mart is employees actually doing their job (irony). All the clearance games that were not marked are now being marked very regularly at my K-mart. That means Joe Blow walking through can see the same deals that I considered secret on here for 2 years.

The most recent set of price drops were on PS3 '07 sports games (Tony Hawk, MLB The Show, Madden, etc), so nothing really worth mentioning, considering they're still too expensive (Tony Hawk is $30 iirc, MLB is $20 or 25, Madden's $15). Some Wii games dropped too, WCT Poker 2007, Tiger Woods '07, etc.

Rocket Slime DS dropped to $15, which I think is universal.
Some of the front lanes dropped to $3.50, if it was originally priced $14.99 with an orange sticker.

There's more, just nothing too notable iirc.

And all the old DS models should have been pennied out by now, so chances are they're off shelves, and if not, you'd get denied if you tried to buy one. PSP value packs, good luck, I got mine there on New Years Eve '06 when they were still full priced.

And DS Lite bundles haven't clearanced out yet as far as I know, maybe the Brain Age 2 one, but I know for a fact the Zelda/Nintendogs ones haven't.

The PSP sold so well here over the holidays that I am sure the old bundle packs were picked up then, people don't know the difference between models and sometimes the clerks don't as well and they don't care as long as they have the system for their kid on Xmas morning. You could barely find a PSP on the store shelves here, so the possibility of finding one of these packs is slim to none here, especially with kmart's extremely limited space for storing game consoles.

Our Kmart has almost nothing in stock for the PSP including games. There might be 5 games left on the shelf.

I did some barcode and game scanning and some games are now ringing up check shelf. For example, Point Blank DS. Guess I should have bought that before. Contact, on the other hand, was ringing up as $15.97, so not all clearance is back up to full price and/or out of system, at least at my local kmart. I checked some other random games not on the clearance list just to see if they were now on clearance and all either rang up full price or out of system. For example Flash Focus and Picross (both of which were on the bargain shelf) were regular price, $19.99, Bleach: The Blade of Fate, Mega Man ZX Advent and Etrian Odyssey were out of system. It seemed like a lot of fairly recent games are now out of the system. Edit: Dragon Quest Heros Rocket Slime rang up as $14.99.

Kmart was such a great place for clearance goodies last Fall - it's sad to see such a rapid decline. Yeah, the clearance party has moved on over to Target's house. And that's unfortunate because Target's prices are store-specific unlike a lot of the universal Kmart deals. On top of that Target stores actually get foot traffic and clearance items actually get tagged so it's much more of a wild good chase.

It's true that Target gets more foot traffic but Kmart's deals were never universal. I have about 5 Kmarts in my area and during the clearance period prices were all over the place... Target is a little more organized in pricing as they all eventually reach the same price point as long as it stays in stock.

Yup, seriously. Filled up about 1/2 of the lower display case next to the PS2's.

Mine came with 1.52 firmware that I put on 2.0 and then downgraded to 1.50. Thats about all I can do with the 32mg card it came with.

The thing is that we were there a little over a month ago and I do not remember seeing those in the case before. I know I'd have seen them when I was scanning the cases for clearance stuff.

yep, that's how my k-mart is. I believe they still have mark or kri marked at just under $20, but they had rise of kasai for $7.99. They alos still have last years sports games marhed at $25 on clearence. If they ever make it down to about $10, i may pick up a few.

Mark of Kri under $20? So it did drop. I think the price it was stuck at was $21, at least that's what it is here.

Also I noticed the 360 remotes are clearanced to $15.

Went to KM yesterday but nothing under $9.99. They did have a sale during and after Christmas with games at $4.99 (actually, seen this two or three year's straight like that) but unfortunately, no major sales at my local KM....The only low cost games were "Feel the Magic" for the DS and the 360 Table Tennis, PS2's SNK Neo Geo Battle Colosseum for $9.99 which is a cool game but I think that's what I paid for it when it came out...and Viewtiful Joe I believe.

Same here, they have 3-6 copies buried at the bottom of the PS2 case, which will probably be there long after they stop making games for the PS2.
