[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

I know, but the point I am making is I don't always check those threads all the time, so how would I know about this? Same thing with the CC buy one get one half off on accessories for 360.

Its not as if there are twenty million threads cluttering the forum. Theres no reason to make those comments unless the post is a repost. We are a community not communists

Today my K-Mart Lady said that For some reason the Prices are going back up, She said that she has no idea why.

P.S. With the new persona 3 expansion announcement today, hopefully those K-marts that still have the original priced at 49.99 will drop to clearance, my K-Mart lady knows I have my eyes on it and hopefully will hide it in the back of the case untill i can grab it when it drops...

I just found out that I drive within afew miles of a K-Mart every week in Gas City, Indiana I guess I'll be cheking that out in a few days!!! I'm shaking with anticipation....will it be a goldmine, or a ghost town??? I'll find out!!
 
LOL That's how I was about my local ones, since there's like 7-8(used to be 9-10 till the closings a bunch of years ago)near me. But, most of them are ghost towns with very little(if any) clearance games anymore. Of course, since I'm still in the 'last gen' of gaming, I only check PS2/Xbox games for myself. I still find the occasional deal, but rarely do I find a massive haul anymore, like I did a couple of years ago.

Too many damned lurkers from my area on here anymore, I think, plus the fact that SD/FW seem to cut/paste some of the clearance lists from here verbatim without even giving any credit to CAG and those people just go out and clean out a store when they find a deal or nine.

Ya it's sad, I know some people around here that know that me and afew others collect/play/resell games we find cheap, so they hoard them thinking that they will E-Bay them someday. one such guy had me look at his collection He has a dresser full of rare/uncommon games that he gets from the pawnshop he works at so he asked me to Ebay them for him, but he wants all the profit..sorry dude.

I once drove around to 6 Kmarts in 3 nearby cities to check them out. (about 170 miles round trip) This was back when this Kmart clearance thing first started. I found quite a bit. But now, not much.

For the 99.99% of human beings who can't follow thousands of posts in every thread on here, this is a GOOD POST.

My only complaint is it should say the platform. Double Agent is on at LEAST 6 platforms, and this wasn't one I wanted it for.
 
When we were down in Florida a few weeks back, while driving around, if I spotted a Kmart, I stopped, even if we already passed it. Fortunately, I only spotted two, but one was a complete bust. The second one, however, was a mini-goldmine.
 
I appreciate posts that point out the things I'd actually consider buying.
I don't give two shits about kid games on sale or random clearances on boring merchandise.
I wasn't aware that this was on sale, so I'm gonna consider it.

No but the K-mart clearance thread is consistently on the front page. I would think since this is "video game deals" forum. You purchased a clearance video game at K-mart. Perhaps, the Video game deals-"kmart clearance" thread would be a good place to post and check to see if you deal was already posted.

I am not trying to be a jerk. I just don't want people cluttering up the front with...."got X for xx.xx at target" or "I found this accessory at sears".

You're still missing the point. WE-us normal human beings-can not follow those long running clearance threads. It's NOT POSSIBLE for most people. The ONLY WAY we will ever know about a deal is if someone posts it. I have no problem if people want to keep posting in those threads too, but they're worthless for most people.

Agreed. I don't know how many deals I found out about through posts like this where half a dozen people have to chime in with "Why'd you post this, we knew about this months ago! Everyone knows it's in the uber-unreadable mega retail thread that no one reads!"

If it's buried in one of those threads there's a good chance more people haven't seen it than have seen it. I've been coming to CAG for years but I very rarely click past the main page unless there's a deal listed in one of the top threads. The message boards are a visual disaster and the search feature is useless.
 
isn't there a huge list of clearance games on the first page of the kmart thread? I checked and for some reason Splinter Cell is not listed. Why is that? It was posted on the old Kmart thread.

I'll stop now. I just wanted to give my input, and it seems a majority of the CAGs disagree. I can live with that.

Above all though Thank You OP for contributing to the forum and the community. Whether or not I feel it was appropriate or a good deal, I still do appreciate it.

This. Especially with the new "lets avoid SD by not updating the OP" in certain threads. The time wasted wading through a 200+ page post is a deal killer.

It's basically the payoff for sticking with a thread like this. I see no problem with it.
 
See, this is what gets me and makes me think that those complaining about 'having no time to search the mega uber retail threads' are the same ones who are double registered(here and SlickDeals or FatWallet) and they simply want the info to be able to go 'raid' their local Kmarts of anything good without digging through umpteen pages of 'haul' and thinly veiled trade request posts.

I say, if you WANT a deal, you should have to WORK for it a little. If it takes you 2-3 hours of scrolling through tons of posts about nothing in particular to find that ONE deal post which makes you go 'holy crap I've seen those at my local store', then the thrill of going to that store and finding those games for that price is even more satisfying.

But people are all about instant gratification anymore and not having the mentality that anything worth having is worth working hard for, even if by working hard you mean looking through pages of posts on an internet message board.

I was a bit annoyed at first by the first post not being updated, as I did give some decent info on newer drops I thought, but I'm kind of glad it wasn't updated, since it gives me more time to go grab the items I might want before the hoarders get done actually finding out about them. This is the main reason why I don't say more than 'my local Kmart' anymore as well.

Oh and FYI, CAG looks alot cleaner if you use the 50 posts per page format, since that way there's only 6 pages to this thread.

Got mine set at 200ppp and this post is on page 2. It's pretty easy to find the thread in my subscriptions, click on page 2 and scroll to the bottom to see the latest updates from people.

Actually I have no problem with ppl reporting their latest finds in the way you indicated. I subscribe to the threads I'm interested in to keep on top of other ppl's finds, it's works quite well until new threads are created and I forget to reregister !!

It looks like some thread about some game that I can't figure out what it is got merged into here. If it isn't in the OP let me know but I can't even figure out what game it is that everyone was so glad was posted in the main forum. I take it that it was something on clearance for a long time at Kmart though. If that is the case, then new threads in the Deals forum are a waste because they will be highly YMMV for any particular Kmart clearance game being in stock. THAT is why the "uber-clearance" game threads are useful - you need a huge list of potential games to look for as you are likely only to find a few of them at any given store. If you can't follow 3 or 4 threads like this for stores you frequent then, well, I have no sympathy for you, really. Sorry...

And then someone is complaining about the OP not being updated? What? I think it is - if there's something that is not updated please let me know. Yeah, OK, there may be a few $12.97 changes not in there but mostly it is pretty close - I mean at least the games on clearance are listed (as the actual prices will be YMMV anyway).

One thing I would not have done was to merge whatever that thread was in here. Now I may have to go clean out all the clutter. Yuck...

Splinter Cell: Double Agent $9.99 @ Kmart

This isn't in the OP because $9.99 is not a Kmart clearance price - thus this is a normal price drop. Actually, then, in this case, this should have stayed as it's own thread and not been merged into here. Oh well... Or it simply isn't news and should have just been deleted.

Edit - Alright, I cleaned out all the posts about Splinter Cell (since none of them actually mentioned the game itself expept for the first one) and all the discussion that resulted about whether things like this belong in the Deals forum or not. Still, this isn't a clearance price so it doesn't belong here. Though if anyone is interested, I hear Splinter Cell Double Agent for the 360 is only $9.99 at Kmart! ;)

I visited the K-Mart in Gas City, IN that i found last night, The Guy in Electronics waqs real cool, but he said that there are alot of people in the town that buy or steal the games as soon as they hit clearance bins. He found a copy of Tales if the adyss for 12.97 for me, but all the other games they had were new releases, they did have a ton of clearance Accesories though...

Got a psp battery for $4 today. They have another 3 there, but it's a bit out of the way and they didn't have much in the way of games. Dunno if I'll be going back anytime soon.
Also stopped at a Sears that appears NO ONE goes too. Picked up P3 for $50... then seen the new thread about it :(

oh yeah, now i just need to get a psp :lol:
 
More info on the K-Mart I stoped at today.

The guy working in Elecrtonics told me that he got a memo that 14.99 RPG titles are dropping to $6 he said it didn't say which ones so it may vary by store. They had 2 copys of P3 at 49.99 of course, It sems K-Mart is the only store that stll has it in stock around here.

I also ran a cross a Sears, they had No Games, and like 3 Blu-Ray DVD's LAME!!!

P.S. Do all copys of P3 come in a box type thing?

I price-checked a GBA Gunstar Super Heroes at the local K-Mart, and it scanned as $2.00 flat. If I didn't already own the game, I'd be *all over* that one, and possibly both that they had.
 
I found a KMart that has those $4 PSP batteries and a few of those $2.50 3rd party illuminated Xbox 360 component cables. They any good? (Yeah, I can be a sucker for stupid stuff like that).

The guy that runs my local gamestore had some of those illuminated cables for sale, he told me he got a good deal at wal-mart for 14.99, that cracks me up.
