[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

I'll give a different store a shot tomorrow on my way home from work, but everything I found searching for Zack and Wiki and Stranglehold showed clearances being chainwide I thought.
 
I stopped again tonight and got Cranium and Battle of the bands for 5 each and put a priceless look on the clerks face. I am really surprised these games survived the rush of BF shoppers this long. These were better than the other games they had advertised in the BF ads for 10$ each.

Does anyone know of any DS games that are currently marked down, preferably ones that would have dropped along with Cranium and Battle of the bands, because my Kmart is loaded with DS games but I don't know which ones are on sale. Anything earlier probably wouldn't be available at my store.

I wish the K-Mart closest to me would face the games in the case "spine out" so you could see what they have. They've only got enough space to face roughly 20 games per system cover forward and they have hundreds of games behind them.

The only problem with having the games facing spine out is that if your store has 'hundreds' of them, then each successive spine out row will block the one behind it.

A few of my local stores started doing it this way a while back and I STILL have to ask them to see what's behind the other games.

Unless Kmart started devoting more space including cases to games, this problem will continue and only get worse as the number of out of system games grows in each case.

Ours does it spine out, so its not so bad, I am pretty sure they only have one row of games but games are stacked on top of the rows. I kinda do feel bad for the stores in this case though, because when you put the games out for people to actually look at they WILL steal the games, and I have found many, many stolen games at walmart and kmart in my area. In this case its actually warranted that they take precautions against stealing, esp. in my area. Its also not easy to figure out where to put more product when more keeps coming in and there is only a certain amount of space in the store to put it, so I do kinda feel bad for them. Stores here are crammed so full right now that there is barely room to move. The only way would be to remove other products and allocate another area for selling games. My kmart did move a ton of accessories out from behind glass so that people can actually get them.

I do think that stores need to allocate more space for electronics as those tiny electronics areas simply aren't holding the amount of product that really needs to be in the store in this category. However since electronics and games are generally low margin products I don't expect this to happen anytime soon. These departments get emptied out by Xmas eve here, to the point where you can't find anything anywhere, so they do need to order more product for the rush.

Most stores honestly need to half the toy department and fill that space with electronics and video games because any kid age 6 and up wants nothing but electronics for christmas, toys are really targeted to the under 6 age group, every kid in my family has an ipod at age 7 and by that point the toys are gone and the electronics and video games are in.

Well, I feel the same way BUT my kids love their iPods and use them daily. I got my 10 year-old and 7 year-old a Nano and Shuffle last Christmas and this year we're upgrading them to the Touch and the new Nano (and giving the older Nano to my 6 year-old). They love to swing in the yard and listen to their music - or use it in the car. Of course the only reason I'm upgrading them is due to the sale of Macy's cards at Blockbuster - otherwise they'd have to stick with what they have. My kids do reap the benefits of my CAGiness though :lol:.

I cashed out all but $60 or so of the credit I had at BOTH Blockbuster and Gamestop by buying a Wii(from GS with uber cheap credit) and multiple games(3 from Kmart for $5 each, one from Gamestop with credit) and selling the whole thing to my buddies' brother in law for about $300 total.

So, for now, unless there's another insane deal from HWV and a good trade deal from GS at the same time, I doubt I'm going to be doing much flipping anytime soon again.

Mind you, I never DID hit that much further away HWV and the damn sale ends today. Maybe I can convince the gf to take a trek up there today.:pray::whistle2:k Although, she does have work at 11 pm and I'm not seeing her till 6 or so and the trip is about 45 minutes each way.:whistle2:#

My family overspends (well not my immediate family that I live with) but other members in my family do to keep up with the joneses (at least thats how I feel about it), so believe me they will be in trouble when the time comes from all of it.

I am only 27 but I have the attitude of a 60 year old when it comes to electronics, I could care less if I have an Ipod or not, if its a MP3 player and it plays music then its good enough for me. Heck I won't even buy new game systems because they all require you to pay extra for downloadable content and I don't like that and its not something I want to waste my money on, let the hoarding of older games continue. I also tend to look for things that will last which is nearly impossible these days.. The big thing I hate about Ipods is that you have to install itunes to use them and I don't want that running on my computer and I am sure it would crash my computer if I tried to install it. Not sure who would want to watch video on that tiny screen either..

I have a bit of a problem as well as I listen to japanese music and only japanese music, so that severely limits my options when it comes to music video games and other content relating to music as there just isn't a lot of it in the US.

I have a PSP and it does everything I want it to do and has a nice large screen for reading subtitles on videos.

I don't even listen to that much music anymore, even the CD's I own, so the radio is enough for me really.

I tried going back to the older games(even buying a Genesis model 3 which has sat here collecting dust)and I just couldn't bring myself to play for longer than 2-3 hours once every couple of months.

As for the downloadable content on games, I don't download anything from the PSN store unless it's a freebie or I have the credit on my account to afford it and said credit only cost me half or less to acquire.

Went to 4 local kmarts and could not find any zack and wiki! :cry:

Checked my local store tonight -- looks like the cashier cleaned out the remaining copies of the games I got last time, cause there was nothing left.

People get upset when we hoard, but IMO I would rather hoard than let the cashieer hoard the minute I'm done with my purchase. I always but atleast 2x copies of each games if available because I kow the casheer will buy the rest, it happens everytime.
 
With all the stuff dropping to $5, there haven't been any new additions at $10, $15 or $20 which means after this round of clearances, there might be nothing for a while
 
I was able to return timeshift with blank disc inside. Regular CSR shows some attitude but manager approved right away. It happens many time according to him.
 
None of the Kmarts around me seem to have Wii-Godfather nor PS3-Transformers in stock, I've found Godfather for PS3 and Transformers for Xbox 360 but neither are price dropped. However, I did a price check at all the 4 kmarts I stopped by and each kmart listed the Sony NSC-GC1 (upc 027242723085) at $15, only one kmart had it in stock but it was open box with nothing but the camera itself and a memory card, missing av, power cables, and software so I didn't buy it. I did stumble upon this find though, out of the 4 kmarts I went to, 2 of them had the Sony DCR-DVD108 (upc 027242701786) Camcorder listed at $349 while the other two had it at $35.00! Sad to say, none of the kmarts had it in stock, but I though I'd share and maybe some of you guys would have luck at your kmarts.

What I do is go to Buy.com, search for whatever these guys claim is on clearance, find the upc number [example]
http://www.buy.com/prod/transformers-the-game/q/loc/108/204086963.html

The upc should be under "Product Summary" and the upc for this is 00047875819795
, then copy the number.
Last go to upcdatabase.com and click on "Look Up".
Paste the code in the box, print your upc and take it to a aisle scanner at kmart to check the price.

Then head over to electronincs and ask for the game.

EASY PEASY

(for some reason it wouldn't work for that upc I listed, but it should work for the others.)
 
I noticed that my local Sears had the Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 bundle on clearance for $25 before they sold out of them. My local Kmart has a bunch with sticker prices of $60. I didn't see this game on the list but I'm still thinking of getting them to scan it anyway. Thoughts?

NSCGC1 scanned for $15 for me, the other one scanned for $350. Both were OOS. They had 2 or 3 camcorders total, and I'm sure some were missing a box so I wouldn't have gotten it for $15 if they had it anyway. I ran into that before. They had some DVD player and speakers marked down to $7 from $70. All they had was a display model left with no box. It was tagged $40 or $50. They told me that is the price and I said if you had a box to scan, it would be $7 but they wouldn't give it to me for $7.00. I went to the customer service desk to complain and they tried to manually look it up for me with the UPC code I gave them but it didn't work. They said if I could get the inventory # (isn't that their job?), and they could look it up, I could get it for $7.00. I never bothered.

I probably should have went back, just out of principle. I am tired of companies getting away with this type of stuff (currently in an arguement with Office Max now)

Don't know if anyone besides me cares, but the Olevia 32 and 37" HDTV's have dropped again. The 32" was ~$495 and the 37" was ~$535.

And the 26" Sylvania HDTV that was marked at $558 since May/June 2007 FINALLY dropped. It's now $434.

These prices still stink, but I'm hoping for a 30% off Clearance in January.

I'm not sure if it's done this way universally or not, but if you look on the sides of the item you want price checked, there MAY be a barcode with model/inventory #'s right on there.

EVERY Kmart in my area has those stickers on their electronics, including the tv's, which makes it MUCH easier to get the items checked.

This is assuming the handheld scanner/price gun is actually fully charged, which is almost never true of my local Kmarts.
 
Kmart in NJ 07740, picked up the last Nights and Geometry wars Wii for $5.

Also found my hidden Parappa for PSP and SNK Card fighters from over 6 months ago, marked to $5.

No go on the camcorder listed on the last page. All other $5 games listed such as stranglehold, time shift, godfather rang up $10, so I passed on them.

My KMart still has a Toshiba HD-DVD player (the HD-A2 model) on display... they want $140 for it!! It has no cables, no remote, no instructions, nothing but the player. When I asked about the high price, they said "Its already $40 off... they dont just give these things away, ya know".

They also have an empty box for a Sony blu-ray player with a $400 sticker on it... but there's no display model out, and that's the only box they have out for it. Strange, huh?

my kmart is strange too. they still have HD-DVDs on sale. they all still ring up 29.99. i swear they should be clearanced out by now. i've been waiting for almost a year on these!!!

A great answer would have been to bring up how KMart had the 360 HD DVD Players down to $12 and then some were lucky enough to get them at the final price drop for $5. That is basically giving them away and going against what that person told you. Not that I would have actually said it to them but it just shows how uninformed most KMart employees are about pricing, especially clearance stuff.
 
Just FYI because I'm not sure it's been mentioned yet: Napoleon Dynamite for the PSP is $5 as well. Yeah, I know...but it's $5. And no, I didn't buy it. For some odd reason, I couldn't pull the trigger on Crush at $5, either. Weird.

It's pissing the daylights out of me that Warioware, Inc.: Twisted is still $15. Give me a stinking break and CLEARANCE THAT BAD BOY OUT ALREADY!

There are still 3 left at the Westland Mi Kmart, in the case and not marked for clearance so they will prolly be there forever.

Totally worth $15, IMHO. Fantastic little game for the GBA.
 
I did a search in this thread but nothing came up. Today I saw Eye of Judgement on clearance for $40 on one of those locking pegs. I did not want to bother the clerk with the whole unlocking thing so I skipped it. I am going to add the UPC to my sheet and keep an eye on it, especially since it is headed toward $7 eventually.
