[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

There aren't even any digimon toys left here, they had a whole bunch then they magically disappeared, probably sent them to another store or they got piled in that magical back room we have all heard so much about. There is no way someone bought all those toys. Recently the small figure packs resurfaced but those are the $2-3 ones and I already have all of those.
 
When does Kmart get the push from corporate to set clearance prices? Target it seems like every Friday and Sears is the 6th of the month.

It seems like kaydigi posts the drops on Saturday or Sunday and by Monday one store near me that's on the ball is always repricing the games. The clearance drops seem to happen about once a month.
 
kaydigi please start a new thread so you could update the OP! If all of the new markdowns were on the first post it would make it so much nicer. You are doing a great job posting the new markdowns but they are sometimes hard to find in a thread that is 245 pages long.

Tonight I Picked up Guitar Hero III XBOX360 Bundle with Les Paul Guitar for $25.00 The Aerosmith Version was $35.00. A Shrek 360 PArty game $5.00 and Stranglehold Ps3 for a buddy for $ 5.00 also.

io updated last on 3-18-09 - three months ago and says in the OP - sorry haven't updated much lately. Kaydigi is updating much more regularly and she deserves her own thread. Other clearance threads are updated in the OP why not have a Kmart one?

By the way I'm not opposed to doing a little work for a deal but the last time I checked this thread it took 20 min to find the last update among the other posts. After that I had no time to check any other threads and it has been a week since I've had time to check again. What am I missing out on because my time is limited? I would like to check this thread more often but it just takes too long and cuts into my time to check other threads. I don't have internet access at work and even if I did I wouldn't have time to check this site while I'm working.

Or you could....you know....actually pay attention to this thread more and maybe put the number of posts per page up to 50 or so? That reduces the number of pages greatly.

That's a much better idea than giving the hoarders/resellers free reign with a very up-to-date list of what's cheap and good for them to grab the shit out of.

If you have such little time on your hands, buy stuff at MSRP and turn in your CAG card or do some legwork and actually hunt for the deals like we do.

While I agree, but consider 2 things...first, he has the name apathy in his handle. How are you surprised by his demeanor? Jay is a bit of a dick, but he's our dick.
And secondly, he's right. The Sears clearance prices are VERY YMMV. I can point to Sears that STILL haven't marked down Mercury Meltdown for the Wii, and that drop was literally 5 months ago.

So one game being priced differently qualifies a VERY YMMV? LOL,or maybe a handful at most...( lair, hack). I guess i should have said 98% Now Best Buy and Walmart...thats YMMV. Sears and Kmart have nationwide drops, while BB and Wally's clearance prices are up to the managers...except for the EOJ bundle Wally's had for $29.99.

2. Every one's time is valuable.
3. The number of posts per page would not make any difference in the amount of posts we have to wade through.
4. I actually do quite a bit of leg work (and computer work) to hunt and find deals.
5. Maybe if everyone didn't post stupid arguments the important posts would be easier to find.
6. What is the big deal about starting a new thread? It's really time to do it because the OP is not updating and has not updated regularly in quite some time. Maybe he would like to be free of the obligation. He even credits Kaydigi for the update on 3-18-09.
7. I check this thread about 2 or 3 times a month. In your opinion how much more attention should I pay to the thread?

I spoke to the district, PLC, and store manager. This is just something my store manger does just to not lose a customer. "We" do not get in trouble for selling the pennied out item, but we have to pull the rest of them off the shelf after that purchase.

Sunday morning they come into the system between the hours of 6AM EST and 10:30AM EST.

Corparate clearanced a wrong item this week, and they resent new PLC's midweek. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

There are clearances every week, just varies from department. They were electronics drops last week, but they weren't TV's, Mp3 players, or games so I didn't post them. There were about 3,000 drops in fashion this week.

I'm not gonna add anymore clutter to the thread. But this topic of starting a new thread when/if the old one doesn't get updated for 2-3 months comes up almost as frequently as the updating lapses do.

You know, people who update these threads have lives outside of CAG, right?

But if you wanna start a new one, go right ahead and start one....and then sift through all of the pages of this one to find ALL of the titles for the current clearance list and properly update it.

Well then, I'd suggest looking at the thread more often then, if it's so hard to follow when you finally DO look at it.

As for the updates, while informative they are not maintained in one central location like the first post, so therefore she cannot be updating the thread. No offense to Kaydigi meant.

Seriously? OK, first of all when I was saying sorry I hadn't updated much lately it was BEFORE that last update in March, which was a big one and got us all caught up to date. Since then there has been very little. I think the only big update was the post below (thanks again kaydigi!). While there is a lot of stuff on there it wasn't a huge deal in terms of hot clearance action so I didn't add it to the OP in order to let CAGs get in on what they wanted while the info was fresh. There was a lot of discussion of a few things from that drop (like Eye of Judgement and Metal Slug 7) but it all faded away because beyond those two there wasn't much else that was hot. Granted, I let it go a few more weeks than I should have but really all this talk of the OP never being updated and thus assuming I didn't want to do it any more was a little overblown guys.

I expected after reading all the drama the last few pages to see tons and tons of awesome prices since then that I somehow missed. I don't see anything really since then except a few scattered reports of oddball prices that I can't verify so wouldn't add to the OP anyway. Most of the reported purchases I see recently are actually from the March update!

I will add the following in plus a few others I saw afterwards and then can we let all the drama go?

A little advice though - if you are only going to read the thread once or twice a month and expect to get in on any decent clearance prices you will be sorely disappointed - especially if the OP is kept up to date every day. You really need to follow these threads every day or two to keep on top of things. I mean, seriously, it takes, what, 5 minutes to check the last several posts of the Sears, Kmart, Target, etc threads to see if anything exciting is happening?

System is updating slowly, I only see MSRP drops. So next week we should new game clearances if the "every 4 weeks" stays the course. We will see I guess.
 
Found :ps3: NBA Street Homecourt for $5.00 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. yesterday. The rest was similarly older sports titles and the inexplicable $25 "drop" on COD3.

BRAVO!!!!!:applause::applause::applause::applause: Taking five minutes to play catch up on the few posts that normally are made per day in this thread each day or so sure beats trying to play catch up after 2-3 weeks of not monitoring it.

Believe me, I tried doing it the hard way before and not keeping this thread in the top three of my subscribed threads and it was damn near impossible to know what may have dropped further by not doing so.

However, for those who want to do it the hard way, might I suggest adding the 15th or so of each month to your itinerary to check for new drops in the clearance items you may be interested in, since I believe that's typically when they've been marked(around here at least).
 
Forgot to print the MSRP drops before I left. The list will probably be gone when I get there Tuesday. I only remember Ninja Blade and Saints Row 2 down to $39.99. I apologize.

You might want to check Sears if you're looking for either. They're QUITE cheap there with very little variance in price.
 
I hate to ask, but does anyone know the price of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam for the PS3? I don't think I've seen it mentioned on the clearance lists here, but I know Sears did. The PS3 version, for whatever reason, has become impossible to find. I saw a couple copies in the back of the case at my Kmart but...well...it's Kmart, so no one was working back there and I had other places to be.

tl;dr version: What's the price on Dynasty Warriors: Gundam at Kmart?
