[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

went back to my local kmart, 120 gb hard drive is still ringing up at at $105. :cry:

What causes the difference and the YMMVness? Is it the stores being lazy and not updating their systems?
 
only clearance item was a 512 mb card for 12. their prices are jacked up, world tour bundles were 186 and 208 for the wii. there were lots of tvs under 800, the lowest being 457 if i recall

has anyone gotten luck at the nyc locations at w/33 and the one by st marks?

Unfortunatly. They are way behind on updates. We had to go to another store last week to help with inventory, man that store was 4 months behind on price changes.

1. lol like the other guy said its 42 inch for under 200.
2. the difference of the settings on TV's are only truly noticable depending on distance that you sit from them
although LCD is better than Plasma when it comes to video games, Wii shouldnt matter, and it really depends on the video game ur playing

If any of you don't see it in the cases, be sure to ask the Eletronics cashier if it is in stock. He instantly knew they had it, but it was hidden behind the copies of Last Remnant. (Which is somewhat strange, since that Kmart is one of the most organized I've seen. I guess they just didn't have room to display it.)

The general consensus is that both are enjoyable but Star Ocean isn't as good overall as Tales. Plus I hear the voice acting in Star Ocean is really really bad.

it was a sony hdx275 home theater system. the upc is 027242727670. i brought a upc scan sheet and checked it on the self scanner, it rang up as $30 so i went to electronics and asked the clerk to scan the actual item to confirm and he sold it to me no problem.
 
Really wanted that $30 HTIB but couldn't find it at 3 different Kmarts. All I could find was the newer HDX285 system.

I did see some of the clearance RPGs: Last Remnant and Star Ocean but I passed on those because I already have them.

On a side note, i did see a 32" LCD Sony TV that somebody was going to buy but it rang up $300. I questioned the employee about it as she was putting it back, but another employee ran up and basically grabbed it and took off with it. Pretty funny actually, but I wasn't going to buy it, so it wasn't that much of an issue.

I think it's because everybody was trading in the guitar bundles and Gamestop must have a glut of them. Either that or they did it for sanitary reasons, like they did with the dancepads from DDR.

Have fun using CL, IO. Just remember to price your stuff about $10-20 over what you REALLY want for it, so the people can haggle you down and still feel like they're getting a deal on it.

Oh and Tdogg, check Sears. They had a bunch of camcorders and digital cameras when I was there earlier today. The cheapest they had was an 8.1 MP Kodak for $35. I passied, since I don't have any use for it outside of snapping pics of guides for trades.

I saw both a $3 Intercooler for PS3 and a $16 Lexmark printer/scanner combo at the one Kmart I hit today. I didn't pick either up.

Bah I got all excited for nothing. Price drops happened between this morning and this afternoon but it wasn't the Samsung 42" plasma it was a Panasonic. I just saw 42" plasma this morning and got all excited. They had a Sony HTIB but the UPC didn't match, no $30 deal for me. Not quite as neat and clean as the game prices, but at least now I know when they do their price drops.
 
I went to 2 stores, got nothing.

Store 1 had nothing except the Vizio for $210, except it was the display model and being used as a demo in the appliances so it wasn't for sale (not that I would have wanted the display anyway).

Store 2 had the old prices but the Rockband SE kits and drum sets were all gone. Plus the 120GB HD and 512MB Memory Card both rang up at full price.

Hit four different stores on the way home tonight. Two had nothing of interest. One has two copies of the Vision camera in stock, but rang up at $28. And I know this store did a price update in the past few days, because I was there last week, and several other things did drop in price, but not that one. Side note, I did buy an HP deskjet D2560 printer w/ b&w and color ink included for $10, down from $20 last week. Anyway, other store of interest had one 512MB memory card, but rang up for $12 still. Not sure if they've done a price adjustment lately, so I'll check back in a few days on that one. So, instead of finding anything I was looking for, I ended up with a $10 impulse buy, just because that printer was way cheaper than buying one new ink cartridge, let alone two. Gotta love it.

Our 32" Magnavox LCD totally died today after 3+ years of constant use.
Was able to track down a Samsung. It's cable/coax connection was broken off(fine by me as I connect everything through the HD and HDMI connections), so was able to haggle some additional discount. $150, out the door, for a 42" plasma!
 
Hmm my K-Mart only had a bunch of magnavox and element TVs, I think they also had those sylvania's and if I'm remembering right the Sony 19 inch but neither really appeal to me at that price, will certainly keep an eye on them though.

It includes the HP-60 b/w and color, but there are HP-60XL sold seperately. Still, for ten bucks, I'm sure I'll get my proverbial money's worth.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but do you know, why is it that some, but not all, stores sell certain items for prices higher than MSRP? i.e., the Messanger bundle for $73.99 instead of $69.99, and GH2 bundles for $94.99 instead of $89.99 (or lower at this point)?

Well, mucho thanks to kaydigi. In the background right now, there's a 42" plasma Samsung television broadcasting, and I paid $185.50 out the door for it, once I price-adjusted at a different store.

And believe it or not, I'm actually not sure if I'm going to keep it. It's a floor model (with a few minor scratches), and quite frankly, I'm not sure I actually *need* it, so I may end up taking it back.

But not yet. I've got to see if it's really all that necessary.

I've decided i'm going to buy that 120 GB HD for the xbox and just go to kmart to kmart in order to find the one that has it for $37.

Got a question for you, kay-- I went to my local K-Mart looking for Star Ocean last night. I found it, and to my dismay it hadn't been marked down yet. But I did have a sheet with some barcodes on it, so I did a few price checks. To my delight, :360: American Idol rang up at $4.00, and there were a couple left in the cabinet. So I asked the clerk to get them, and when he rang them up they were $29.99. Mystified, I compared the barcodes. They appeared to be identical, same numbers. When I swiped my printout, $4.00 came up, with the title "KR2 AI X360" (Karaoke Revolution 2 American Idol, right?). When I swiped the game itself, $29.99 and "AMERICAN IDOL 360" came up. What's the story? Are there two different profiles for the same bar code? Both the clerk and I were thrown for a loop, but he wasn't going to give me a discount when the game itself was ringing up at the higher price.

I also had a look for that Samsung plasma, but no dice. :D Didnt' figure I'd find it, was still fun to look.

What the previous poster said. Your barcode was for American Idol Encore 2. The game that you scanned was probably American Idol Encore.

i did and they did have the latest prices in effect ... i was mostly looking for tvs but no dice... and i tried to price adjust my 120gb hd from last month at hillsborough but no go either as they told me they would have to restock it first... gonna try another store

didnt look too much into games tho

on another note.... apparently there are 26in and 32in sony tvs that are NOT on clearance? whats up w that... kmart has been a destroyer of dreams with my tv deal searching... where are you 42 inch samsung damnit
 
I swear, my Kmart must update manually or something. They had some things on clearance properly (namely, the Guitar Hero bundles, and the Vision Cam that I was able to see), but like half the things that I expect to be on clearance weren't. The Eye of Judgment bundle rang up for $69.99, and the 360 Charge Station rang up for $34.99. It's really annoying. It's like they pick and choose what to actually clearance.

It's funny how newer games go on crazy clearance, but the old stuff is still expensive. There is a HUGE stack of Guitar Hero II bundles for :360: that still ring up at $89.99.

Wasn't GH2 clearanced out a while ago? Shoot me the UPC and let's see what the system says.

The one KMart near me has about a dozen of them too, and I just had it scanned about 2 weeks ago, still comes up $90. The employee said they are in the system "differently" than the ones that were cleared out long ago.
