[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

So I was at Kmart tonight and bought the following items for $4 each:
* PS2 8mb memory 2 pack (Red and Blue memory cards)
* Pop Star Guitar Wii Game
* Xbox Live Vision Camera

Anyways I also saw a bunch of other stuff like the Rock Band SE bundle for PS3, Guitar Hero II bundle, X-Blades so anyways I got a cart and filled it up with a buttload of games and was pushing it around the store looking for a price scanner and this whole time I was pushing the cart around everybody kept looking at me.

So I left Kmart and decided to go to my local game store (Gamertag) and flip what I bought. So originally having paid $12 for everything (Popstar, 2 memory cards, & Xbox camera) I ended up getting $38 in store credit.

Forgot to mention that I got $15.80 for Trade in Value for the Xbox camera alone & $5.20 for the headset. So having paid $4 for the Xbox Vision Camera I ended up getting 5x what I paid for it.

It was a good night.

I scanned a Guitar Hero II bundle for 360 today at KMart and it came up as $98.99 (the same price as the sticker on it) Is it supposed to be cheaper? It seems like it shouldn't have been that high.

Bogard, our KMart has sold all their GH and RB stuff long ago. A few months back they had several Aerosmith bundles at the $7 or $10 mark. I believe they also had some RB stuff, but someone has come and bought all of it. I could've picked a lot of them up, but they didn't appeal to me.

I've checked KMart consistently and someone has done a good job at keeping it decent looking and all the price changes current.

I don't know about Sears(though I have seen some tv's go from $600 to $350 or so), but check out the Target thread for something an employee told me today. It's a trick I think some will definitely exploit.

I got 2 GHIII bundles for the PS3 for 7 bucks each. Only thing that they had. The guy was shocked to see the price. Too bad they didn't have anything else.

Can anyone hook me up with the XBOX 120GB HD?

This is why you grab one of the hand baskets to do your price scanning. I used to carry a few games by hand and once or twice people asked if they could help / what are you doing. Since then I've always picked up one of their baskets. As a bonus I only have to make one trip to the scanner now with the 20 or so games to scan.


Edit - Misread your post that they do not have scanners anymore. It still applies that you can grab a basket and take the games to a counter to get scanned though. :mrgreen:

LCD is better for gaming.

depending on how far your tv is from where you sit 32 should be fine, and 130 dollars less that 5 inches isn't that noticable to pay an extra for

go RU!!! i stopped by there first this week as the east bruns store told me the somerset one had a samsung in stock.. of course no samsung... and no those sony's aren't on clearance i checked and they have a diff upc... apparently everywhere in this area has recently cleaned up the electronics section and put out new stock... i even saw a new samsung 32inch out

true that... the best i saw at sears was someone posted a 42inch sylvania for 285 or so... i even tried to pricematch a copy of the receipt with no avail... and ive seen it in 2 other stores... with 2 different and higher prices.. the best i saw in my area was 425... almost jumped on it for a 1080p 42inch... but noticed a line of dead pixels on the side of the screen... so their prices seem less universal for tvs for some reason

I use two Panasonic Plasmas, one for my Wii and one for my PS3. I use a Sony LCD for my 360, which was originally for my PS3. Plasma works fine for the Wii, but I much preferred the LCD for my PS3.

As far as brand goes, Sony and Samsung are the best on the list. Vizio is supposedly Sony workers that ran off with Sony's information (at least this is what I've been told, I hear a lot of different stories, so this is a shortened version.) and therefore you are getting the quality of a Sony TV with a lower price. However, in this particular situation price isn't so much an issue and from my research, I've always preferred Sony over Vizio, and I actually like Sony over Samsung as well, but most people prefer Samsung.

One thing to note with an LCD, if you plan to go this route, make sure you pay close attention to the refresh rate and try to find 120hz because fast games can have the drag that LCDs have problems with if you have an older model. For some people it isn't too noticeable, other people can't stand it. I personally love my Sony LCD, I think the quality is amazing and one of the nicest I've ever seen and games look amazing. However, one thing to note if you are planning to use this as a regular TV (i.e. to watch actual shows on) I think it is worth noting the Sony is terrible for TV when it is using standard television (for example, I just have a 32", so I don't use this as my main TV, it is mostly for gaming. So, I don't really need a DVR and cable box either, so I just pay to have cable put into the other rooms in the house. Because of this I just have the LCD plugged into the coax outlet in that room and the quality is really bad, fuzzy, etc.) I rarely use this TV now to watch television (I hardly even change the input back to TV) but it is something I thought I should note.

If you can find any of these TVs for these prices I think any of them would work, but if it were me, I would be looking for the Sony more than anything.

I think it was $90-$100 at mine when I scanned the price. What's even more ridiculous is that the Rock Band Bundle I wanted to buy was still $71.xx. I think all Kmarts are different when it comes to pricing.

Maybe I can get that Rock Band Bundle in a couple weeks for super cheap... well lets hope, it may be gone by then.

What does your store do with the wiring for the display HTIB? Found a floor model but it is stripped of wiring and remote. Wiring wouldn't be a big deal, but the system uses proprietary plugs on the speakers. Asked the floor person and he said that the wiring and remote wouldn't be in the back and more likely than not it was a dummy system. I am skeptical of that because it "looks and feels" like a live unit. Any input would be appreciated.

Pick up the system, and turn it around. You should be able to tell right then and there if it's a dummy system. The dummy ones have no insides, just the shell.
 
I found one of the 360 120gb HDD's tonight at one of my closest Kmarts for $15. I was shocked to see it sitting right in front in the same case as the other HDD's for the 360.

They also had a couple of the old style Intercoolers for PS3 that're $3 each now right beside the HDD.

I'm surprised I didn't pick up a pack of the $2 USB charging cables(Sony brand) that were on the one back shelf in electronics and a PS3 Intercooler just for shits and giggles.

I tried my one friend I've known for years whose family has a 360, but they didn't know if they had the same size HDD or not. I'll probably just toss it on my TL and ask for Ghostbusters or Red Faction: Guerrilla for it for PS3 in exchange.

Haha, same here. I found two of the :360: vision camera packs at the Saugus, MA K-Mart and had to get them both. I already gave one to a friend of mine for free (hey, it's only $4!) and will probably do the same with the other one. I might be a bastard and keep the Xbox Live months, though. Those alone are worth $4!

At the same store, I finally found my precious :360: American Idol 2 bundle for $4. It was actually behind a stack of American Idol 1 bundles and tipped over, so it was almost totally invisible. THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE THE GUY OPEN THE CABINET, PEOPLE. Needless to say, my wife is dreading the hours of terrible singing ahead.

I also grabbed one of those Flip camcorders for $37, it's pretty neat! I'm going to take it to the Revs game on Sunday and take some video of the stands. I wonder if security will notice, or if they'll just assume it's a cam-phone.

Infuriatingly, the store had a TON of PSP component video cables and they rang up at $20.99. Either the pricing was way off on ONE item, or there's a more recent PSP-2000 component cable with a separate SKU.
 
You know, I completely forgot to check for the Vision cam while at the Kmart I scored the HDD from. After reading that it trades into GS for a bunch more along with the headset, I could've easily flipped a few.

What's even funnier, is that there's an old 360 faceplate buried in the back of the bottom case where the HDD was, clearly marked $14.99 with one of the clearance stickers. Chances are it's probably one of the ones that clearanced well over a year ago and would ring up .01 now.

That's the only good part with so many systems being active on the market at one time(DS,PSP,PS2,PS3,360), is that the cases are getting SO overloaded of stuff that it's impossible for employees to really keep track of it and thus we get great deals.

Speaking of the PSP cables though, I saw a set of the ones I think you're looking for, Mike. I think they were marked $5 or so. I know they were on the same clearance shelf as the USB cable pack for PS3.

Gah anyone from CA find any deals? i went to my local kmart awhile ago and saw NOTHING on sale. i saw alot of rockband SE tho. should i have scanned those? i mean after seeing the many 59.99 games i kinda lost hope

The one thing I've learned better than anything since becoming a CAG is never to assume anything. Some examples in the short time I've been a CAG:

Went to Sear's for one of my first, major trips to look for games. Scanned countless games to check for a price drop, everything ringing up as marked, getting disappointed. I scan my final game, which was The Simpsons Game :ps3: marked $29.99 and it rang up $4.97.

Read on the boards here that De Blob was going to be discounted 40% off, excited everyone assumed it would be off the $19.99 making it $11.99, when the add came out it said the game would be $17.99. Because of this I decided I wouldn't make a special trip out, happened to be in the area one day so I ran in quick and they had the game for $11.99.

Was near a different Best Buy than the one I normally go to and was running short on time, because I never seem to find good deals at Best Buy I wasn't going to go in, but decided I would run in quick, just in case. This Best Buy just so happened to have a lot of games, for all systems, marked 50% off the clearance price.

Was at a mall with F.Y.E. and wasn't going to go in because in Ohio they never had anything good (usually just a few cheap games and some used ones, but nothing of interest and never good prices) I ran in quick and was able to find a bunch of games for $5, several around the $10 mark and even a few that were free if you used mail in rebates.

Went to Kmart for the first time searching for some clearance, had a big list of games, most of which were older clearance games, but wanted to scan some UPC's and see how this Kmart does with updating prices and see if I could find anything. Searched through their mess of games for about a half hour and didn't find any games on my list, though all the UPC's that I scanned did scan with the current price listed here on CAG. I was about ready to leave and finally managed to find one game, it was Anubis II :wii: for $5.99, not the best game available (though I did play through it already and did like it) and not an incredibly low price considering the quality of the game. However, this was actually the first deal I found, so I thought it was important to mark the occasion and bought the game.


So these are just a few of my experiences since I started searching for cheap games and trust me, there have been many more. So, to stop talking now and make a long story short, definitely price anything you are curious about, you may get lucky and find the game is discounted, or you may find it is still too high, but either way you are only using a little bit of time and you are there anyway, so it is always worth the chance of getting a good deal.

If its an older game and still priced at 59.99, its probably wrong. I tried several $59.99 games yesterday and they all came up as $19.99.

Also is that PS3 intercooler worth it? I mean my ps3 hasn't over heated atleast I dont think?

its not going to be like the xbox one where it causes it to malfunction is it?

Hey, glad I could help. I'm still new to all of this, but I'm happy to pass on the knowledge I've learned whenever I can. Good luck and hopefully you can find some awesome deals, Kmart certainly has the potential for awesome stuff for cheap, if you can find it. Personally, it seems like Kmart has clearance stuff longer because you have to be in the know or else most people don't buy from them because their prices are high and not as many people shop at Kmart anyway.

From what I have heard, it is best not to use it, just like with the 360. Personally, my PS3 stays cooler than my other systems, so I wouldn't want to take the risk of the cooler messing it up.
 
Like I said I've never really noticed overheat so I guess I don't need it
plus the longest I may of playedwould b like 4 hours and that's with breaks

Picked up Star Ocean: The Last Hope two days ago at a K-Mart here in So Cal, which was marked down to $19.99 in the clearance pile. Everything else was stuff "on sale," but that you could most likely find cheaper elsewhere.
 
Some of these PS2 games need to be clearanced, my Kmart has some good ones but they aren't worth $20 at this point. Also, I'm waiting for Kmart to get sick of the GH:WT sitting around and clearancing those. I have been waiting to pick up a Wii set for a while, but I know they will drop sooner than later.
 
I found a new Kmart today (actually was one of the nicest Kmarts I ever seen) and unfortunately the lady that runs the electronics seems like she was really, really on top of things. Everything was very nicely organized, she had a large section of games out of the case that were all $20 and under and the rest of the games in the cases, anything on clearance was marked. She was actually getting ready to redo the Wii games, because it was "getting a little out of control" again, everything was placed perfectly and very nicely organized.

I went in with my list, just planning to see what they had and as soon as I seen the games I knew they weren't going to have any clearance items left (at least the good stuff) and that was pretty much the case. Every UPC I scanned from my list came up "Check shelf label for pricing" but none of the games were there.

The lady was very nice, probably in here 60s or so and was very helpful, unfortunately a little too helpful. She asked me three or four times if I needed anything, I said "no, just looking" and then she came over and asked again and then asked if I was looking for anything in particular, which was then when she told me she was going to reorganize the Wii games. At that point she stood with me for a few minutes, which was a little uncomfortable, and then just said "I guess I will let you look and just work on this when you are done" and then she walked away and shouted back "if you want me to get anything, just let me know" so at least she was nice and willing to help (first Kmart I've been to in Florida that actually had someone working in electronics) and it seems like they would be pretty quick to update prices, but it does look like she keeps everything marked, so unless I can get there quick most things will probably be gone. This Kmart is a good hour from me and I will probably never head out that way again, really wish it was the one that was closer to me.


Anyway, thought I would share my experience.

Funny thing is I hit all the Kmarts in my area every month and never saw it. I guess we will call that one of those good oversights.

Also got a Flip Ultra for 37 new in box. I almost bought one a few months back at retail cause of the novelty but 37 is just fine.
 
I found 2 live vision cams, (which I'm not giving up at cost, but you may PM me with a trade or something) (1 may go to my brother)

but I went past it the other day lol

I was goign to hit up my 3rd k mart but went to the wrong part of town and had to drive 2 hours in traffic back home kmartless needless to say i was pissed. but whatever i needed the drive to clear my head anyway

That's EXACTLY how I found the 120gb HDD the other night at my one Kmart. It was either A) buried in the back and they just brought it out or B) a return that someone made, since I swear I didn't see that in the case before then.

But now I'm curious to see if I can find some of the Vision cams and maybe another HDD, since I still want Ghostbusters for PS3, but I gotta feeling that's gonna drop to $30 new soon.
 
Yo dudes. I grabbed a 3 dolla intercooler for ps3 which after reading up on it, I will not use. Anyone know if it gets anything at gamestop?
