[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

i've been thinking of picking one up but was more than a little put off by the price. i don't care that much if they introduce new hardware later if i can still use the eye for what i already have.
 
I checked out 3 K-Marts in and around Chicago today (Harlem, Elston and Addison), and only two of them had any eyes and they rang up regular price. Figured I'd save some CAG's the trip.
 
I've seen the :360: Star Wars:FUSE mentioned here but I picked up a :ps3: copy today for $19.97

Also saw Suikoden Tierkreis for $19.97

Here in Memphis we have a bunch in the only K-Mart there is, but they all are 43.99. They denied me a price change lol but it only gets worse because the Guitar Hero 2 bundle for 360 is 94 frekkin dollars. Yeah I don't think they honor deals
 
Somewhat deterring the subject, my wife told me about a document she had to sign at work today.. Apparently KMart has some sort of new "social networking" policy. If you're caught trashing the company while working for it, you're fired. That's pretty scary.

That's fucked up. Almost as screwed up as UPS telling employees how they can only have their facial hair. I worked for them a few years back in an office doing data entry and I was only allowed to have a Ron Jeremy mustache instead of my usual full on goatee.

It's sickening when a company is actually able to govern how your body can appear. I can understand it if I were working out with the public and I had dreadlocks and a beard like the guys from ZZ Top, but if it's well trimmed and properly groomed there should be no problem whatsoever.:roll:

So I found a loophole in their appearance policy regarding proper dress code and I proceeded to wear the loudest(wildest pattern)button down shirts I could find in my wardrobe up until the temporary assignment I was on there was finished out of protest of the other policies on appearance.

My manager left in Feb, he was offered another store in the same district. Since then we have had no manager in the store.

The store is entrusted to 1 Asst Manager, 2 Key holders, and 1 trainee.


My question to you, what do you think can go wrong? Have you ever heard of a SuperCenter type store with no active manager during Inventory, resonance remodel etc...

None in Springboro, Ohio. Not even a spot for them. That store is pretty hit and miss but its worth checking every so often.

Sorry... I'm just giving El Hoardo crap and wishing him to get screwed because of his capitalistic ways. However, I have noticed that some stores aren't carrying them in my area anymore (aka East Valley, AZ) and Walmart only has them available online, which in my experience is usually what happens when they begin clearing out a discontinued item (happened with GH3 and some other things I bought online only).

I've checked with all of the East Valley, AZ Kmarts and none of them have any. So I don't know if they had this deal and they ran out, or they just don't carry them any longer.

Also sorry for complaining so much, I really didn't want this to turn into a complain fest. But unfortunately its Kmart and other than clearance sales, they don't really have much to offer. Again I would like to say something positive about the company other than clearance sales, but that something is hard to come up with right now.

As for something positive about them, I can only think of the ongoing clearance price cycles. At least they know how to put stuff on clearance(except for Mark Of Kri for the longest time:lol:)and move it out, which reminds me that I may return the two Scene It: Box Office Smash sets I have pretty soon.

And yes Shoe, I know I would've probably been better off if I sucked it up and accepted the code/policy and became a drone like everyone else. But giving up my individuality to some companies bs policy back then was like giving up my soul to me. As long as you're dressed correctly for the job and any facial hair is properly trimmed and not 'wild', who cares? Apparently UPS though.:roll:

I'm sorry, but I like my individuality, if they were to press this issue, I'd gladly hand them my job. If I ever talk bad about Kmart, I'm usually being sarcastic to get some gloomy looking customer to actually smile (Maybe they'll come back someday), or one of my managers/co-workers have done something entirely ridiculous. I think instead of ridiculous policies like the above, perhaps Kmart should put into place policies that force managers to act like adults and not like children. Maybe with a little positive attitude throughout the company, and less retarded pencil-pushing, my co-workers would feel a little more happy about coming to their crappy minimum wage job (Face it, life sucks, but when you're handed a fishing pole...You fish).
 
I realize that I'm in the minority but I love my Kmart, they usually have at least 3 checkout lines open, whereas my walmart has one or two (non-express) lanes open out of the 15 available. Also, I find some decent deals on random stuff like paper towels and exercise equiptment from time to time. I know this is a non-clearance rant but I felt compelled to support kmart a bit. (the wife used to hate it but she has seen the light).

Well in the respect of clearance prices, Kmart is better than walmart, whom apparently doesn't know the meaning of clearance and thinks marking down a price by 2 cents and slapping a red sticker on it is "clearance". Walmart used to be pretty good like they would put extra 50% off on toys on top of the clearance price but I haven't seen that in about 5 years. Now Kmart is doing that. I suspect they will do a toy clearance at my location soon as there is quite a bit sitting in the middle of an aisle.

Also if your looking for shoes my Kmart has a perpetual extra 50% off clearance shoes, with 2 huge tables of winter boots and other assorted shoes in the back of the store, so if you need shoes you might want to look out for that.
 
Battalion Wars 2 for Wii was $19.99 at my nearest K-Mart. Since my last trip there everything seems to be completely organized and more games have been added to the value/clearance section. (SHC-Gamer is taking charge, hopefully this doesn't lessen my finds) Does anyone know if Mario Super Sluggers or Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn has ever been on clearance at K-Mart? The store had a few copies of each.

I was in my wife's store last night, and spotted a few things that I think may need to be addressed by SHC. Games as old as time itself, that could stand to be cleared out of the system:

PS3 - Blacksite: Area 51, Folklore, Saint's Row 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Spider-Man 3, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
360 - Ninety Nine Nights, Prey, Elder Scrolls IV + expansion packs, Burnout 4, Fight Night Round 4, Cars, Tenchu Z, Cars: Mater something or other

All of these were ringing up at $30 or more, and a lot of them have gone Greatest Hits at other stores.

Additional: Why did Quake Wars drop to $5 on the 360, but is still $60 on the PS3? I'm having some difficulty following that. And what's going on with Little Big Planet? Do Game Of The Year Edition ($20 pretty much everywhere) and the original pressing have different barcodes? If so, why are they still the same price?

I hate to keep bringing this up, but it just kills me. DDR for the Original XBOX still rings up MSRP. Its like going and visiting a museum peice. They've been keep in prestine condition at the bottom of the glass case for over 2 years. I guess if someone actually buys them I'll miss them a little- like visting an ole friend.

Ditto. One of the stores near me has a couple copies of that at $55 or something ridiculous.

You should invest in bubble mailer and do first class. Although I got charged a package rate on a gameboy color game that I had in a bubble mailer. I didn't think that could be considered as being not uniformly thick. You could barely tell anything was in the mailer.

Yeah, Wal-Mart's tricky as hell with their "sale" prices. I love peeling back prices on the shelves just to check if they're lying. Sometimes it's hilarious to see a discount of $.02. I will admit though, their prices are usually "MUCH" better than ours.


Pertaining to ancient games in cases...Loco Roco is still $30, while the sequel's $20. Marvel Ultimate Alliance for the PSP is also $30, the sequel's $20. Retarded pricing at times. It's like the list of games from years past has been lost, so they completely forgot to update the prices for games older than last year.
 
Yeah, KMart is very poor about clearing out old stock - frequently to our benefit though. Two years ago, I found a sealed copy of Final Fantasy VII marked down to $16 in the very back of the games case. Sold it on ebay for $75 =D

Checked by my local Kmart but had no such luck in finding anything. I was hoping to score Secret Agent Clank for the :ps2: for my collection, but it was $20.

We are actually having a difficult time finding this one in the system; it definitely needs to be addressed.

1 - please tell your electronics employees to face games foward/up right, so we/i can read the titles of the games, and not break my neck trying to read the games in the glass case

2 - if we ask for a price, we actually mean, scan it!, its hard to believe a 3 yr old/bad game is still 59.99 just because of what the sticker says

Even better; my wife and I had our first child a little bit ago. I love the little dude more than anything, but I'm more hit and miss on the computer than I used to be :)
