Finally, those $10 off promotions will finally be worth something that handed out a long while ago when you bought a 360 game.
Well remembered Shrike, I'd forgotten about that promotion. I'm Live'd up till about 2015 thanks to $30 cards, but that $10 off will make it a sweet deal for a lot of people.

I went through to checkout just to make sure it was there, and sure enough it was.

I miss when Target used to put the 1600 cards on sale for $15 bucks each. I bought 8 or 10 of them two or three years ago totaling around 16,000 points, and have finally run out. I shudder to think of the amount I spent on Rock Band.

Do they still run any sales like that from time to time? I can't remember seeing any around in a long time, but maybe I just missed it.
Seems like they don't stack, but I can confirm they are actually working. $34.99 for an instant code (I didn't go through with the purchase, because I don't need one, but was just curious to see if the promotion stacked, since I should have quite a few of them).
They don't stack, though if you have more than one of them, you should be able to use multiples across multiple purchases. Assuming they don't limit you to one per person, of course.

Recently, nothing that I can think of.

I stocked up at Target, then Walmart had the site to store...

Then fingerhut had a good deal at some point too (like 40% off). That deal was iffy, was denying some credit cards

I loaded up on 1600 point cards at Target back in December 2009 when they had that buy 1 get 1 free Xbox accessories deal. Kept me good on points for a long time but now I am finally out after all the good sales last year :(

Probably YMMV, the Best Buy in my area (west Michigan area) is selling those old Madden 12 month Live cards (the $49.99 ones) for $34.99.
Sorry! I'll let you know how long it takes to get the code.
I'm by no means mad at you. I really appreciate the tip. Just a little upset at myself for ordering a M$ point card so fast this morning. No big deal I'll either buy another card if I get the discount code by the end of the day or use it to buy another one next time. I've been burning through tons of points lately so 2 4k cards is fine with me.
What part of "sales tax does not apply to points and sub cards" does Buy.com don't understand?
A lot of online companies have this issue. I went back and forth with Dell over it and eventually talked to their tax specialist, who couldn't give me a straight answer.

No problem. The link I gave you doesn't work though. You have to go through this link

http://touch.groupon.com/deals/ebay

I was wondering why it never charged my card and sent me an email

The Buy/ebay sale only saves me about six bucks after tax... but I'll inevitably be spending the points, so screw it. Too bad it's not a code that I could receive immediately and spend on the massive amount of deals this week.
Code won't work until tomorrow :(
not true. myself and a bunch of other CAG's have used ours today.

you have to use the touch.groupon.com site to get the code immediately though.

Huh?

I used the first link for the Groupon; it does work, but it took about 4 or 5 hours to get the code. It says the coupon won't work until tomorrow, but mine had no problem going through just now.

Bought 2 using the 10% off coupon and $15 groupon for $64 altogether. Pretty good deal. Thought about adding one more since I probably won't see better deals on points than this.

Can you use the groupon deal multiple times if you have multiple cards?
Just wondering. I don't plan on doing it, honestly, I'm just checking if anybody else has tried.

You'd need multiple cards, accounts, and email addresses. People in the groupon topic have said they did it multiple times this way.

Yes, it will work, but I believe you have to create multiple accounts. You can also do this if your credit card company allows you to create virtual credit card numbers. Also, these codes stack. ;)

Borders is the same way - somehow Costco, Amazon Prime, Barnes and Noble, etc. don't charge tax on their memberships but Borders has to? :whistle2:?

I alerted Amazon to Buy.com's $39.99 12 Month of Live deal and they dropped the price.

I also tried doing this with their Digital Download page here, but they haven't budged. Please help a fellow CAG by spamming their site with 'lower price notifications' under the Product Information part of the page. I want to use my $10 off credit for Live Digital Code, but I don't want to pay more than $30 for Live. I'm hoping if enough people do it they'll drop the price for the digital code as well.

Amazon did lower the price for the card AND online game code. I went through the checkout for an online code and it's $29.99 (AFTER the credit for online game code most of us received a while back with a purchase of a qualifying game at Amazon). Pretty nice :D

Amazon Link

Anyone know if the Amazon 12 month digital code works worldwide? I know the regular card does, but im not sure about the code.

Thanks so much for posting this. I hadn't checked their site all day, assuming nothing would happen.

how long before i know that my item gets rejected? is it the same procedure of three days?

It got delivered today so i am hoping for the best.

Hopefully i dont get turned down for my xbox 360 elite for 130 dollars.

Saw over on SD that the price of the 12-mo XBL online code dropped to $39.99 on Amazon. Before Xmas, Amazon was giving away $10 off XBL subs by way of a promotional deal automatically added to your account. Mine seems to still be good, so I'm not sure when they expire.

Anyway, if you got the promo, then you can snag a 12-mo sub for $29.99.
I'm debating it at the moment, but I added it to my cart and it worked.

So the new Halo Reach Map Pack gets the reward? Awesome. I read that and thought it was for the first one. I did the gamestop preorder deal just to get the avatar helmet for it. Now I've got a pretty good reason to buy the 2nd one.

Also I think I'm going to bite on Comic Jumper. It better be hilarious because the gameplay in the demo wasn't doing it for me at all.
How do you check if you have credit before purchasing? I've got a stack of codes already but I might have a ton of credit I can use.
Easiest way I've found is to just go to any MP3 download and on the top right, just above the Add to Wishlist box, there should be a link labelled "Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance" with a little blue dollar sign next to it - click that and it will tell you.

Not sure why they hide it.

Try to purchase the card, before you hit complete order it will show your total and you should see promotion applied -$10.00, for a total of $29.99
