I was thinking of making this thread myself when i saw the interview on IGN.

30 man leauges online iirc

Also seems to be the 360 version is shaping up better than the ps3 version. The ps3 version only supports 12 man leauges atm and since there is no rumble, they arent sure if they will implement a way for pitches to be "hidden" to the batter if playing offline multiplayer.
 
This game looks unbelievable, I've never tried a 2k baseball game (989 sports makes really good games). But this game looks great, a must buy for me.

Yep, getting this also....I need a GOOD baseball fix. I may get MVP NCAA to hold me over even (to play on my PS3).....

I just hope they match the gameplay of MVP 05. That is still my favorite baseball game. I loved the throwing in that game....the charge thing was great.

i haven't had a baseball game in four years, but this one looks pretty nice. i'm hoping that i'll actually follow through and pick it up when it comes out.

i'd be into playing in a league once it's released.
 
Go D-Rays. Im in for a league. No garentees wether it will work or not though. I have two other people that will join in and will play consistently.

I am really looking forward to this, it actually comes out a few days after I come back from my honeymoon. I'd likely be up for a league as well, Go Mets!
 
Ok good. I see that there is some interest, and now I am def going to pick up the game. I just hope the online league works out well.
 
Haven't you guys learned anything from last years game, which was a bug riddled piece of garbage? Sure, the graphics are absolutely amazing, and you'll be able to gaze upon them all you want when the game is constantly freezing and locking up. I really wanna get behind this game, since Ben Brinkman is at the helm, and he was a driving force behind MVP 2005, but I just cannot trust 2K Sports games when it comes to making sure there aren't any "lock up your franchise after 120 games" bugs in it.
 
I dont know if Im getting it, im dying for a good baseball game, but if this doesnt deliver gameplay wise I cant see myself paying 60 bucks, escpecially with Guitar Hero 2 and its hefty pricetag.
 
I too am kind green with baseball games but will definitely pick this up at launch you can put me down for either white sox or cubs which ever I feel like.

I think we should create a LEAGUE thread instead of posting here.

I know 2K has had LOTS of bugs in the past years....hopefully they resolved this (as I know the MVP guy is there).
 
This game is shaping up nicely...I don't know if you guys have seen the bigs yet...But that game looks absolutely incredible too.
 
The game is looking a lot better than last years. Hopefully it plays a lot better as well. I will probably pick this up because it will be the only baseball game out for 360. Sure hope they fix all those bugs from last years version.
 
If we would start a league/ if I would enter it(it would be my first so I'd be a n00b). I'd like to call the Yankees.(Been a dire hard fan since birth.)

Can anyone explain to me how a league works?
 
If we get a league going I will take dibs on the Cards. The only thing that will keep me from buying this game is if it gets horrible reviews like the last one did or if MLB the show on the ps3 is light years better.
 
Are they getting rid of that arcadey crap they had in 2K6? I forget what they called it, but it came complete with huge text bubbles during the pitching/batting sequences. I know it's only an option, but I hope they just focus solely on the sim aspect of the game instead of trying to cater to both sides.
 
Wow. all this interest is great. I'm going to create a OFFICIAL MLB 2K7 LEAGUE thread like doubledown said. So that will be up later
 
I dont think you really need to make two seperate threads for it, as theres not much else to discuss atm.

As for the league, i would be interested but even THINKING of one, makes you realize how lopsided MLB is. My favorite team would be the Yankees but picking them would almost make it unfair against the other teams. Then again picking alot of teams(No ones trying to reserve the royals as you see) would pretty much mean no playoff spot.

That being said if i join, id rather just be assigned a random team. I did it when i was going to join the Madden leauge and ended up being REALLY good with the team i got(Chiefs). I was like 5-0 but the leauge disbanded, i still used the chiefs offline until this year when i switched back to the jets on the 360 version.

That's a very biased opinion right there. Let's not forget, the Yanks haven't won the World Series since 2000. Yeah, maybe nobody picked the Royals yet, but nobody's mentioned Detroit, either. And last I looked, the Tigers were playing significantly better baseball than the Yankees...

Of course its biased, as i was talking about my own situation. I said the yankees because im a yankee fan and thats the team i would prefer to use. You can insert a few other teams and the point would be the same though.

i don't really think team choice would have that much of an impact. the better players should be able to win fairly consistently regardless of what team they have. a stronger team may help a weaker player get a few extra runs, but i doubt it would really help propel a weak player to the top of the standings.

speaking of weak players and strong teams, if we are calling teams, i'd like the tigers so i can play as the home town team.
 
We are not going to do random teams. For the people with duplicate teams we will do a random number or something and the correct guess will get that team. As of this post though no more duplicate teams..
 
I will have this game on day one. Like all the others who bought 2k6 on day one, I hope this one is actually playable out of the box.

In any case if there is some sort of league being created, you can count me in to play as San Diego!

I didnt mean random draw for teams, i meant i would like a random team. Sorta like madden where i was just given the chiefs, ill just take one of the leftovers when the game is almost out.

edit: i see me and f8x are up for the yankees, so if we both get the game day 1 and he still wants the yanks ill do the random on leftovers.
