Welcome all those who value 60 FPS smoothness in a game, and expect it from their four hundred dollar console. Let's keep the console flame wars to a bare minimum and discuss each new release's general framerate.

A few examples to start things off:

PS3 - Gran Turismo 5: Prologue - 60 Fps 97% of the time, but some minor drops around corners in single player. Replays are a steady 30 fps. Some brief drops in online play, also

360 - Army of Two - A near constant 30 FPS; I encountered one brief drop near the end of the Iraq level, and a very slight drop while maneuvering the hovercraft in the final level. Solid multiplayer framerate.

360 - Dark Sector - Generally 30 fps with some chugging when helicopters and large object appear on screen. Multiplayer untested.

Wii- Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection - A usually solid framerate at/around 60 fps with some occasional, quick drops.

PS3 - Iron Man - 30 fps most of the time. Heavy explosions can drop the framerate.

360 - Iron Man - A higher framerate than the PS3 version. Close to 60 fps most of the time, with a few drops during heavy explosions.

360 - Dark Sector - Generally 30 fps with some chugging when helicopters and large object appear on screen. Multiplayer untested.

Wii- Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection - A usually solid framerate at/around 60 fps with some occasional, quick drops.
whats the percentage of games released on the new consoles that do or dont hold up to 60fps?
I believe the point of this thread is to find that out.

Off the top of my head for 360- Ace Combat 6, Call of Duty 2 and 4, Madden 08, DMC and Ridge Racer, Virtua Fighter 5, Fifa 08

For PS3, DMC, CoD4, Ridge Racer 7, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Warhawk.

I'd say about 10% hold at/very close to 60 fps.

Why? I'm not following that slippery slope.

I don't see a single unified place on the net that discusses framerates. This info is important to me, so I assume there are others who want the same information.

I don't know much about framerates.. could you do an FAQ perhaps DesertEagle XIX,

how are frame rates determined?

and where's the best place to go to find out the game's framerate?

those are just some questions I have.
