Understandable. I guess I just wish console gaming would lighten up a bit. I know people have been upset with games not allowing them to remap controls for years. But again...different audience.

Ah, that sucks. Are the file sizes even right? Not sure what you had your quality settings on, but they should be at least 250mb. I had my capture set to "low quality" (which I think is still 720p) from when I had the shadow length at 5 minutes. I didn't want the files to be ridiculously huge. I guess now that I'm only doing 2 minute shadows, I could probably bump it up to 1080p though. I'll try that for the next video.

I also need to figure out my damn chat volume. I might do a dummy run and go into chat by myself and record something to see if I can get it louder. I mean, part of it is because I'm trying to not be loud with it being late and my daughter sleeping...but hearing my voice thorugh my own headset live, it sounds way louder than that. I wonder if it's putitng it through the controller that's making it lose db's...since I'm actually hearing it before it reaches the controller. Kind of sucks that a big fancy Turtle Beach like that can't do USB audio. But I'll figure something out.

Woooo...first subscriber. The march toward 1 million begins, lol :lol: Brandon figured out that if you just use the "place" command on an object (not sure if only certain tools can do it since I was using the repair tool and Brandon was using the stone axe though). But it does use wood planks just like repairing. Honestly, with as strong as the zombies are, it didn't seem to make much of a difference anyway. They just tear through it anyway.

At the end of the night (after rebuilding the sniper perch, haha), it did make us wonder if you could do that with the rebar frames though (but I would imagine you'd need metal strips or something wood plank like). It does feel like we're actually learning the game though. No need to ask what we're playing the next few Saturdays, I guess, haha.

 
I finally got them working but it looks like I need to mess with the settings as one didn't get the funny stuff recorded and the other one dropped audio halfway into it before the best part.  Neither one turned out very good so no big loss.

Seriously, I would watch a reality show about perceived "tough guys" doing things that scare them. Like Zdeno Chara petting goats or something, lol. The Rock swimming with dolphins. I don't know. Just wacky shit that you wouldn't think would bother somebody like that. That would be such a great show. :)

Oy...that's pretty much just OS speculation isn't it? I mean, I get what they're saying, but the larger point is what game modes HAVE we heard anything about? I haven't heard anything about GM Connected. Should we assume that's out too?

Honestly, it's not a great sign in general that less than one month from launch, all we know about the game is the usual fluff. "physics matter", "gameplay is better", "graphics are prettier", etc. They've spent most of the reveals on player ratings and arena pictures.

I brought up some apprehension a couple weeks ago when the Madden dev team did their livestream and basically showed off the entire game. The NHL team has done nothing like that. I just hope it's not because of it being their first year on a new system (even though they didn't port NHL 14 to allegedly give them more time to be ready). I guess we'll find out soon enough.

EDIT - We'll hopefully find out REALLY soon enough, haha. Gamescom is on Wednesday. If they don't talk about game modes then, you'll know something is up.

Well, if there is no EASHL this year, that will probably mean next year's EASHL (if there is one) will be missing a lot of features too.

If there's no eashl this year...looks like no Xbone for me this year either.

I still think it sounds like an overhyped rumor. Like I said, what game modes have we heard about? It would be almost comical at that point though with EA basically only making games for the Ultimate Team modes. "Hey buy our game...so you can play the thing to give us more money..." I can't wait for next year's UFC Ultimate Team, lol :lol:

Also, I think I figured out the issue with why my mic is so quiet on Steam. It has something to do with the drivers for my soundcard and being very incompatible with Win7/Win8. They're those Realtek/VIA HD whatever crap, and Googling my problem pulled up tons of people with similar issues. Even with the volume maxed out and the mic boosted, it sounds muffled.

So, I've got two workarounds. One is to use that cheap USB headset that I had before I got my X42's. That works...but not being able to use my X42's in favor of a $5 USB headset really sucks, lol. So, I ordered a little USB sound adapter thing with 3.5mm inputs on it. Hopefully that'll be a stopgap to let me use the X42's until I upgrade my motherboard.

Speaking of the EA NHL Facebook page, people are giving them a lot of shit already. There's not going to be a demo for the game, and we still haven't seen any actual gameplay footage less than a month out. The masses are starting to get restless.

You would think though with how much stream has picked up on that rumor, if EASHL was in the game, someone in PR would be sending something out that says "hey, calm your ass down people, it's there, we're just not ready to give out details yet." In PR lingo though, of course.
 
Yeah, apparently all the mods on the EA forum like that Luger had to sign a NDA to play it early so they are telling everybody they can't say anything.

Yeah...it's weird how stuff like that seems to create so much awkwardness. I get why they can't say anything...but at some point, EA should be trying to convince people to buy the game too. I guess that's part of the no competition problem. They could probably say nothing else about the game until launch, and retain 95% of their audience. It's a next gen hockey game with new announcers. That will be good enough for a lot of people.

It's crazy reading the comments for the "what do you want to see at Gamecom?" post though. It's almost all stuff EA isn't doing, lol. At least half of the comments are asking for the demo, then others are asking for EASHL and GM Connected improvements, custom goalie masks. And then, yeah...a bunch of people asking to see actual gameplay. There has to be a reasonable chunk of tomorrow's presentation for NHL. It would be messed up to make that post otherwise.

 
Closest thing to a "Demo" is EA Access for $4.99 next month. If the game is awesome, then you can purchase digitally and get 10% off which covers the $4.99 cost.

 
i think most of us are already signed up for the year anyways. NO EASHL, no sale. I'll keep my NHL 14. That would be such a huge fucking idiotic mistake on their part. However, wouldn't the achievements suggest other wise? Worse comes to worse, 360 right? Lol.

I actually signed up for a month. That month will take me through the early release of Madden (though I realize I leave the Saturday before it comes out for vacation) and the early release of NHL (and I'll be hitting my Gamestop the Monday night before to get my copy). After that, we'll see.

Ehh...not for me. Maybe I'm just old, but my life doesn't jive with such forward thinking, lol. Comcast gives me 300gb a month of bandwidth. I'd rather not waste 20-30gb on a "demo". and even with the 10% discount, I wouldn't buy the game digitally. With patches and tuner sets, even if the game seems awesome...they could change it and screw it up anyway. And then you're stuck with a digital paper weight that you can't trade in. I don't trust EA that much.

Yeah, good point. If the achievement list is legit, then EASHL will be there. Otherwise, there's a lot of bullshit being passed around because people have nothing better to do, haha. Someone on EA's Facebook did comment that in interviews Ramjagsingh has specifically said "enjoy all your favorite NHL game modes". It would be dirty as hell to say that while knowing EASHL wasn't going to be there.

If I had to bet, I'd say it's there (besides, why would they tell us NHL 94 Anniversary mode won't be there...but say nothing about EASHL?) There's probably a good chance the game modes aren't any different at all (including shitty 82 game season GM Connected)...which is damning in itself. But taking them out would be lunacy.

It's still littered with cutscenes...and a good amount of it is in first-person. So, I have to assume those are cutscenes too, unless the big reveal is a first-person mode for LTL/EASHL. People are also joking about "Be A Fan Mode confirmed!" lol.

And ya know what? Compare that to this Madden 15 gameplay video published on July 9th (over a month and a half before Madden's release). It's not just flashy bullshit. It's actually informative, uses the real gameplay camera angles, and shows how to use the new features.

I really glad there will be a demo, I was pretty sure they were going to follow Madden's lead and hide it behind EA Access. Now if we could just see a little gameplay and hear about the modes before the 26th.

In other news, Overkill, the payday devs, are making the next Walking Dead game. Considering how Payday was all about mowing down hordes of brainless A.i, it might actually work out

Yeah, it's funny. Some Youtube comments are actually defending that new video saying "It says 'actual gameplay' at the beginning! It's taken from different camera angles in replay views! It doesn't have to be the boring ice camera to be gameplay footage." That's nice. But why do they feel the need to avoid showing you the real gameplay camera? If the game is awesome, just show the damn game. It just feels disengenuous putting up these sizzle trailers all the time.

Not surprisingly, because of the 9-10 clips from first person perspective in their "gameplay" trailer, practically the entire world thought for sure that meant they were adding a first person camera option. They finally had to respond with this on Facebook:

All of the footage you see is actual gameplay, shown from cinematic camera angles including the POV shots. Right now the only place you're going to find first-person hockey is at your local rink!

So...they couldn't see how that might be at all misleading, lol. Still no word on EASHL though other than people making wild claims. One guy said that he heard "at best...EASHL and GM mode are going to be patched in", haha. Just unreal how rumors can gain traction. EA has obviously done a shitty job sharing information on this game...but making the jump to "they took everythng out!" still seems crazy to me.

This adds fuel to the fire about GMC and EASHL not being in the game. I mentioned that if they are in the game, there would at least be something out there to quell the rumors, but there isn't. That speculation had been out for a while, whereas the trailer was only out for a day before they said there is no first person mode.

It definitely is unusual. I just can't fathom it. I mean, I've maintained the opinion that the Madden team is getting it right and the NHL team is getting it wrong...but my God. This would put them back down at like NHL 05 levels of shittiness. If EASHL is gone and there is no OTP at all, I wouldn't be opposed to boycotting the game. I could easily switch my pre-order to WWE 2K15, haha.

Yeah, I'm surprised that boat is actually possible considering some of the tunnels and stuff in the game. I guess the trucks have more clearance than you think.

I also saw The Crew is having another closed beta starting on 8/25. Even with Horizon 2 and Project Cars coming out around the same time, I'm still really interested in this one. You can literally drive across the US, and the screenshots definitely make it look like it has that NFS Underground vibe that we've been wanting.

Since G-Unit mentioned WWE 2K15, there is discussion about it in the wrestling thread in Off Topic if you guys want to read. I play the shit out of the game every year, and I preordered the Hulkamania Edition the day it went up on Amazon.
 
So guys, given that these are sim games, they should run fine on my bullshit computer, right? I love sports based sims like those and have been wanting to try OOTP for years.
 
The management games, you should be fine. Poll Nation and Snooker should be fine too,but if there is a game in that bundle that would be iffy, it would be one of those 2.

I'll probably hop on the Payday and ETS2 Dlc

These are the system requirements for OOTP:

OS: Windows XP or later
Processor: 1GHz
Memory: 512MB
Hard Disk Space: 1GB
Video Card: 1024x768 resolution support

If that doesn't run on your PC, then God hates you, lol.
