Just starting a thread for deals for the Playstation VR.

I picked up the Core bundle off Amazon and I'm looking for a cheap camera and move controllers.

I found that best buy has some cheap playstation 4 cameras on sale for 39.99 with free shipping.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-playstation-camera-for-playstation-4-black/8245153.p?skuId=8245153

If you all know any good deals for move controllers or launch games, let me know.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PS VR) $15.99 via Amazon (Prime Price). https://www.amazon.c...heapassgam08-20

fwiw in terms of movies, I got Movie Pass and have been liking it a lot, haven't had any problems and it pays for itself if you go to at least 1 movie a month
I love MoviePass when it works, but I've had issues. A month or two ago, the app stopped logging you in on any Android device below 5.02. For about a month and MoviePass offered no answers other than "buy a new phone." Wouldn't even refund the cost of the month I could not use before it started working again. Other times their system would fail to charge my debit credit card and the only solution they offer is "switch from using Paypal to paying us directly." Other than that, though, it's great to not have to pay the $14 for a movie ticket. Even just going once a month saves some money.

The worst issue involves cancelling a movie after you've reserved a ticket. Seems there is a "grace period" before you can purchase another ticket and it might vary from 30 minutes to the rest of the day. I've had 3 instances where I couldn't get it to work and MoviePass customer service is non-existent. Anyway, I think if you buy a year in advance, it only comes out to $6.95 a month which beats out any other theater deal (such as Cinemark Movie Club, depending on where you live).

Plus it pisses me off when some movies are excluded (I know 3D and large format aren't included, but Fathom Events are technically 2D movies). I go to the movies at least once a week and it's getting harder to sneak into special engagements due to "reserved" seating rules. But anyway, that's another forum for another site...

Yeah the Fathom exclusions don't make sense sometimes when the events are priced at or below a regular ticket price, I've seen people on the subreddit claiming they got banned for using the generic checkin and seeing a fathom event though (not sure how they are tracking what you actually saw?) so I haven't bothered trying.

Really wish they'd enable E-Tickets for the Drafthouse so I could just pick my seat out in advance though, overall I've been pretty happy with it though. The $14 I'm not spending on my ticket I've been using towards an appetizer and a drink on top o fwhat I'd usually get, so the theater is definitely getting more cash from me than before

What bugs me is how inconsistent it is. Somehow I was able to see Mary and the Witch's Flower from Studio Ghibli Fest with no problem, but last night I couldn't see the 60th anniversary of Vertigo. I had to buy a ticket for "I Can Only Imagine" and sneak in.

E-tickets would be great for my local theater which remodeled and put in reserved reclining seats. Anytime I try to buy a ticket there for the day, all the good spots are already taken. I have to go out of my way to the older, non-reserved place and come a little earlier if I want to secure a good seat. Literally a pain in the arse.

Just finished Statik. Great game. My only major complaint is that it’s kinda short. It took me maybe about four hours total without looking up any hints. But at the sale price I can’t be too mad about it. Only thing I’m mad about is that I bought the game before I got either one of my 20% off coupons. Oh well. Still worth it.

That sucks. I do the same thing all the time. I often buy tickets to something else and sneak into IMAX. It can be tricky with reserved seating. I don't attempt that on a Friday or Saturday night. I love to see Rifftrax movies every chance I get, but I will probably have to do the same because those are Fathom events. As long as I see 1 movie a month, the moviepass pretty much pays for itself, but I'm like you and usually go once a week.

That would have been great to see Vertigo on the big screen. I can't believe I missed that one. I would have done the same thing as you to use moviepass though. I couldn't bring myself to pay $16+ for a ticket to see it when I have the blu-ray that I watch fairly often.

I finally loaded up Stifled tonight. It's a horror game that uses the mic to generate sound pulses or "echolocation" to mark your way forward. Got to say, so far, not very impressed. It's really annoying to make progress (you have to make a sound like blowing in order to see where you're going, which makes you hyperventilate fast) and the effects only last a few seconds. In a way, it's kind of like the opposite of The Unfinished Swan. Like a lot of horror titles, it actually looks good when it's lit up but it's frustrating when you're moving around in all darkness. Since this is a game built around that very concept, I guess I can't complain. It's not overtly scary, although the subtle fear lies in the silence and waiting (along with some really creepy sound design). There are things that go bump in the night, but since they mostly just appear as crude outlines, it's not that intimidating.

Edit: Having played it more, I can say there are a couple of good scares and it's a uniquely satisfying game, although I still prefer the "real life" parts to the blackout sections.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I’ve been interested in it for a long time, but there hasn’t been much buzz around it since it was released.

Yeah, I'm kind of middling on it. I just completed it (3-4 hours) and it's really interesting at times, but I don't really understand the ending (nor do I think I'm supposed to). In retrospect, it's more mystery than horror. The graphics aren't great (it has kind of a washed out look) and it's hardly the best use of VR, but I still think it's decent enough for a single playthrough.

Trying to decide between Rick and Morty, The Inpatient, and VR Karts.

I know The Inpatient didn't live up to the hype, but it's on sale for $28.99 which seems decent.

Also, I know people shit on VR Karts all the time, but for $10, it seems like it would be worth it.
Do The Inpatient + Rick and Morty at Target. Should come to about $45 for both with the BOGO 50% off. Or at the very least order two copies of the same game but then cancel one of them essentially taking 25% off. $22.49 for R+M or $21.74 for The Inpatient.

Does that actually work?
For sure! Target prorates all of their offers like this so you don't actually have to commit to both if you don't want to. Only hangup I could foresee is that if you cancelled one then you would be under the $35 minimum shipping threshold. You could do store pickup or use REDcard to avoid that though.

I just plat'd The Inpatient. I needed to play it two more times doing complete opposite actions in order to get the "good" and "bad" endings. I've got to say, the bad ending was probably my favorite because it tied back to Until Dawn in an unexpected way. I'm glad I went back and played it again because the other endings weren't nearly as satisfying (truthfully, I just needed to clear out space on my HD so I could install more games). I still have the same problems with the game -- holes in the story, uncertainty about your character, too many time jumps -- but having played it four times total, I now know all the ins and outs and have experienced all the choices. It's not a bad game, just limited.

Also, I think I figured out why the scale is wrong for me: there is no option to set your seat position, so I think it registers me as too close to the camera. I only say that because leaning forward makes everything grow bigger while leaning back (I'm already against the wall) makes them shrink. I haven't really experienced that in other games; usually you move closer or farther away while maintaining an accurate scale.

Here They Lie is a creepy and disturbing game. An easy recommend for horror aficionados, especially at $5.99. My only complaint is the Weeping Doll-quality of graphics which really mars the whole experience as a whole, as well as the head-scratching conclusion (1 of 2 possible endings). But it's quite a surreal journey to get there and one of the more memorable VR titles I've played lately.

What's interesting to note is that I couldn't even make it through the demo without getting motion sick (due to full locomotion controls), but I had no problem getting through the entire game (3+ hours) while only taking a couple of breaks. I seem to remember the demo being slightly different than the final product, which might explain it. Either that, or I've finally developed an iron stomach with all the VR time I've logged.

I made Archangel a last minute purchase. The videos I've seen of it never really impressed me, but it just might be another case of a 2D screen not being able to do a VR game justice. The main complaint I've seen for it is it's kind of expensive for a three hour game, so getting it for less than $5 after the PS+ discount and 20% off code takes care of that.

I also bought the theme for Bioshock: The Collection. It was released this past December. When I saw it it was exactly the kind of Bioshock theme I had hoped for.

Well...so much for an Easter sale in the U.S.  Looks like they're doing ANOTHER PlayStation Plus sale only...again.

I really hate that they keep doing that.  I am not a PS+ member so the sale prices don't apply to me.  Not only that, but the more they do this, the less desire I have to ever become a member again.  I refuse to give in to their cheap tactics to get people to sign up.

Honestly... I know this is cliche to say, but PS+ pays for itself through it's exclusive discounts if you frequently purchase content on the PSN Store.

Easter isnt until this Sunday so we still might get it as a Flash Sale this friday to monday.

I know, but I don't frequently purchase content from the store, or play online, or play the "free" games, which is why I am not a member.

The AU and UK sales are pretty damn good for some of the games I want. I hope we get them for non-PS+ members too.  I have no need for PS+ and I'm not getting it just to get discounts on old PSVR games.

Same here. I am a non PS+ member, I already pay for Xbox Live Gold, so I'm not paying for another systems online functions if I only have it for VR and single player exclusives.

Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle is on sale and has a VR mode. From a review it sounds like VR is limited to a versus mode against the CPU. Gamestop also has it for $20 right now.

Wipeout Omega Collection VR mode comes out today. Get ready to throw up gentleman.

Reminder that it's a free update
I didn't buy it when it was on sale. It looks like Trackmania Turbo (includes a VR mode) is part of the April PS+ lineup, though, so I'll still be able to throw up next week.

It was on sale at Amazon for under $24, but the deal is now dead. Went to grab a link to post here, but it's back up to $40 now. I am going to check out the VR mode tonight though, I've heard great things.

Thank you for this.

You can still find it if you click on the "from other buyers new and used..." link but it's backordered, however it says expected back in stock on the 31st. I just ordered one since I have always enjoyed Wipeout and it's worth a shot to see how the VR is in it.

Is the whole game VR or is it just some tracks and limited modes like how GT did it?

EDIT:

Nevermind, just saw this...

Wipeout Omega Collection gathers tracks and vehicles from the last three releases in the series: HD, Fury and 2048. Unlike the VR support for Sony’s Gran Turismo Sport, the entire game has been ported to VR; even the main menu has been transformed into a 3D interface. That means you have a full racing campaign to enjoy inside the headset, sitting in the cockpit of the sci-fi racing machines.

fuck Game Stop.  I just went there to buy Wipeout Omega cause they had it new in stock according to online.  I get there and they only had 1 left, and it was the display case one that they open and keep in a sleeve in the drawer.  I asked if that was the only copy they had and he said yes.  I was like nah I don't want that.  He was like "you want me to call another store and see if they have it sealed?"

Nah ... not supporting that crap.
