Just starting a thread for deals for the Playstation VR.

I picked up the Core bundle off Amazon and I'm looking for a cheap camera and move controllers.

I found that best buy has some cheap playstation 4 cameras on sale for 39.99 with free shipping.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-playstation-camera-for-playstation-4-black/8245153.p?skuId=8245153

If you all know any good deals for move controllers or launch games, let me know.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PS VR) $15.99 via Amazon (Prime Price). https://www.amazon.c...heapassgam08-20

No, EA has outright said it's not happening and they are biding their time with anything Star Wars VR. The enthusiast VR community wents nuts because it's only on PS4 at this stage.
Enthusiasts should get PSVR then. It is quickly becoming the only VR that matters.

If you’re an enthusiast you should get a PC VR headset. The PSVR is an incredibly good value and by far the best compared to the stuff like daydream/Gear but it doesn’t compare to full room VR.

Everytime i think of doing that, need to buy new vid card, then buy the headset for more than the psvr, and move it all to a different room cause i dont have room for it at my desk..
so i just go psvr.

Sure. But comercially they aren't that viable, and publishers really only care about that.

Get me a $1k PC for free and a new place to live with a big room to set it up in, then I'll do that.

Same. I would LOVE to try out all these different VR setups, but I don't have any money for a new PC or even a room-scale room to play in. That's the only reason I settled for PSVR. I feel like I'm missing out on so many great games (not that I even have time to play them, anyway...).

Yeah, when I say enthusiasts I kinda mean early adopters who had money, space, and a passion for what VR was becoming. I didn't think HTC and Facebook would be so unprepared to lock down big brands and publishers with this stuff. For a while everyone was mad at Sony for fragmenting the market but Oculus was just as guilty they were just bad at their choices. With numerous big name VR games still sitting without release dates I believe Sony has something up their sleeve and may be planning a PSVR games presentation not long after E3 to at least layout a road map of all these games with over a year of development and supposed 2018 release date. If that happens and Sony keeps the price break then it will substantially extend their lead.

Nah the other guy is right only because PC Vr is crazy expensive due to the amount of teraflops of performance you need. I think most people need 8 to really enjoy the experience at its max. None the less, the barrier of entry will lower as you get more performance per dollar. You’re already seeing non-gaming laptops like the surface book and few others $1200-$1500 ultrabooks pulling off pretty good vr. This is mostly due to the fact that intel, nvidia, amd had a generational leap forward in 2018. I can see by 2020 most laptops will play vr games pretty solid...assuming games aren’t going to up their performance demands.

On the one hand you are right you can technically get the headset, controls, and sensors for $199.99 on PC. It’s really the pricey computer specs that ruin it for me.

95% of what’s available on PSVR is available on PCVR. 20% of what’s available on PCVR isn’t available on PSVR.

Not to mention community mods (beat saber will have a ton more songs) and stuff like fallout 4 vr. There are a lot of passionate small VR devs that can release on Steam that can’t get on PSN.

You don’t have to have a big room for PCVR. You can have seated experiences. That’s all the Rift was got the first 6 months.

Yeah a pc will be a higher cost of entry, but there have been crazy good deals if you do shop around. There was a VR ready hp last Black Friday for like $699.

And not referring to any of you but it is funny to me people will say pc gaming is so expensive then drop $1300 on an iMac or MacBook Pro.

This is already becoming a rabbit hole. Just ordered 7 games from the Best Buy sale:

Driveclub
Rush of Blood
EVE Valkyrie
Farpoint
VR Worlds
Rigs
Starblood Arena??? (It was 8 bucks and I was on a roll)

Looks like I’m going to have to buy a couple move controllers.

Will probably be picking up Gran Turismo and Resident Evil at some point.

This is pure evil genius on Sony’s part. The attach rate (especially digital) has to be insane on these VR units.

The original comment was about buying PCVR for full-room VR.

well for one my last iMac lasted 8 years... my last PC needed upgrades after 2 years. And needs another upgrade to play VR., my GTX 770 is good... but need to spend a bit more to the minimum to play VR.

Not going to buy a 2nd PC for just VR games, and would have to move to another room cause there is barely any room at my desk to begin with.

Or just play PSVR.

You say it has 20% of the games PCVR has.. i've only seen one game I'd like on PSVR.

Doesn’t matter if you’d like it or not, the bigger library is still there.

And 2 years and needing upgrades? Must have been a pretty chintzy PC if that’s the case. People are still using i5-2500K’s.

And you could run some stuff on your 770 just fine. A 970 is recommended but it’s not required.

Bigger doesn't always mean better. The huge VR library on PC suffers from the same problem as the huge library of games offered on Steam: About 95% of the game are unpolished, indie titles that are slapped together by someone who just learned how to move an object around in Unity and thinks he's some kind of game dev now. Now, I have nothing against Indie Devs, I'm an Indie Dev and I work with a lot of other Indie Devs, nor against PC games, as my Steam library has more than 3,000 titles in it, but seriously, let's call a spade a spade here. Not every PSVR game is an absolute gem, granted, but it's not littered with student projects liked the PC is.

So I'm pretty blown away by PSVR.  My unit arrived yesterday and I've messed around with the Demo disk.  Just being able to look around in the world in EVE Valkyrie was pretty sweet.

Holy shit is Driveclub rad!  You look around the entire interior of your car.  The fucking rear view mirrors work!!!

If you are  on the fence at all take advantage of this sale.

It is pretty crazy to think that I paid $350 for Skyrim bundle like 7 months ago on sale, and now you can get it for $250.  I still have my Skyrim copy sealed too since I don't care about that game.

The way Sony is pushing VR I expected a TON of VR stuff revealed at E3 but I was highly disappointed.  I was also disappointed that RE2 doesn't appear to have PSVR support.  After the praise RE4 but I thought it was nearly a guarantee.

I played through the first two levels of Farpoint with the Aim controller. Having a motion control gun while also having free movement is awesome. Aiming down the sights is really cool, and when things got hectic hip firing worked as well is it should. I can already tell picking up an Aim controller is worth it. This is a VR experience I haven't had yet.

I picked up the Skyrim bundle this week at target and thanks to a gift card and using my red card I got it for around $240. I also snagged a power A headset case from Best Buy for $16. I was afraid it was going to be a gimmicky thing, but after playing the demos for Moss and Rez infinite I’m a believer in VR now. The boss battle in Rez blew my mind when I had to physically turn around so I could shoot what was chasing me. But it definitely requires some breaks, my neck and eyes were a little worn out after a few demos.

You develop more resistance over time if you can believe it. I still think Sony underdelivered on providing dates and info on a lot of PSVR games but I'm convinced they will do it at Gamescom or another event reminding everyone that there's a pretty ridiculous amount good stuff coming this year. I became convinced after trying a BB demo and bought at 500 bucks at launch. I don't exactly regret buying then as there has been a decent number of impressive experiences but having 3 times the number of AA and AAA games at a 250 dollar entry is always the better deal.

I just picked up the aim controller at GameStop, are there any must have games to go along with the controller? The poster above mentioning the Best Buy sale perked my interest!

Farpoint! It’s $15 at Best Buy right now ($12 if you have GCU (R.I.P.)). It’s also $15 digital if you’d prefer to go that route.

Did someone mention earlier that Until Dawn Rush of Blood works well with it?

Rush of Blood has aim compatibility? I didnt know that. Farpoint is definitely a must own game with aim support.

Farpoint is an obvious choice. Also, I suggest getting Arizona Sunshine when it goes on sale again.

Tried Skyrim VR with the move controllers tonight and the move controllers really need analog sticks or a d-pad. It took a while to get the feel of moving and turning. Combat is pretty funny as I’m flailing around, but the archery is pretty cool. But I think if I plan on playing for a long period of time it’s going to be with the DualShock controller.

Not sure how I feel about the Aim controller for some games. Definitely great for free movement and 2 handed weapons. I wish they could somehow do a mix of Aim and Move. I love being able to grab a clip of ammo and slam it into the gun to reload during London Heist. Dual wielding in general is a load of fun *looks at Superhot VR*.

I did not like Arizona Sunshine even with the Aim controller.  It's just bland and boring to me.  The Aim support also is not nearly as good as it is in Farpoint.  I think maybe if I tried AZ Sunshine before Farpoint then I may have a different opinion, but Farpoint spoiled me and set expectations high.

If you’re on the fence about getting PSVR, go for it while the sales are still active. I’ve enjoyed the experience much more than I thought I would.

Plus, there are tons of free demos available. I just played the Call of Duty spaceship demo. They need to turn that into a whole game. It’s awesome.

Not much activity here lately, but just wondering if anyone has tried the Kona VR patch yet? I was actually planning on playing the game this week, but now I think I'll wait for a 20% coupon to buy that and The Exorcist: Legion VR since neither are currently on sale. Just curious if Kona is stomachable in VR or if it's similar to something like Obduction.

I am in the same exact boat and wondering the same things. Twinsies! :D/

Glad you set him on the straightened arrow. Its a doggy-dog world so you definitely cant let him get off scotch-free
Go back to playing your TRS-80, or pong.

Its just annoying that people do not understand that clips are not used in any modern firearm... rap and gamers are notorious for this. (And politicians... but thats normal for them to have zero clue)
try using “clip” in the firearms community, you will get chastised if you are not talking about a Garand.

Good think he didn't post that on a firearm community website then?

Go back to reading your virtual books.

See when people here use the wrong terms describing or classifying games etc, people get corrected. I love how the “gaming” community is so happy to use any description and made up terms to describe anything. But dont dare classify a game wrong... or call it something wrong.
I know we live in a society that disapproves of people using the correct terms.

All i did was a friendly visual aid to let them know they are using the wrong term. So they dont go out in public and make a fool of themselves later. Like say most politicians that have zero clue. (For example, since they seem to get their “knowledge” from video games and media.)

Go ahead and call manga or anime a cartoon and see the reaction here...

It's not that you corrected him it's that you were a smartass about it and now you're trying to act like you weren't trying to be a smartass about it.  There's nothing wrong with educating people but don't be a dick when trying to do so.

Carry on...

Smartass?.... lmfao

I posted a single pic explaining the error the guy made... i made no other comment.
A few days later someone starts the shit.

Again, finding out that you cant post any opinion that isnt held by certain people.
Cant correct anyone, but certain people can though...
And dont dare post anything incorrect, cause everyone else is free to correct you.

Yep smartass for understanding how things work here.
