Official San Diego Area CAG List

For gaming panels at Comic Con: Assassin's Creed 2 and Uncharted 2 have dedicated panels. Capcom is promoting its 2009 lineup in a combo-panel.

Really? That's great. Of course Las Vegas is simply just better built to handle cons of this size. They'd make more money if they moved.
 
Have you guys been to Mitsuwa marketplace recently? I heard that they just opened a video game kiosk there with a better selection of import games than book-off has. I'll be checking it out myself on Tuesday night, but does anyone have any info/thoughts/feedback about their stuff?

I saw the kiosk a couple of days ago. It's not that big but it does has some japanese import games. I think the Book Off is a little bigger.
 
It's Santek cell phone (used to be next to Nijiya in the shopping plaza over), they carry/order Japanese games.

Not a bad choice if you wanna get systems or something.

I'm gonna pick up a copy of Dragon Quest IX from them this week or next.

One employee told me someone came in right when they opened and took most of the "big name games" (GTAIV, MGS4, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge etc.). I only managed to pick up complete copies (the guy working there was nice enough to switch the cases and booklets with the rental copies) of:

I passed on games like Army of Two, Battlefield: Bad Company, Fracture, Crackdown, etc. since the scratches on those discs were beyond repair (Crackdown's disc was broken in half). I also swung by the store in Santee the next day after work, but the girl working there said some guy came in that day and bought 30+ games with multiple copies. I have the feeling it was the same person.

Oh well, anyone else hit the other stores in our area? I was hoping for Dead Space and Mirror's Edge, but I guess the hoarders beat me to it.....

I picked up random shit. Crackdown, Full Auto, The Club. Figured I get enjoyment out of those to justify a 4.99 price. I already beat Crackdown to hell when it came out but a replay is worth it. All my discs were in good condition.
 
I can't get the hollywoodvideo store locator to work; it keeps timing out. Anyone know which hollywood video stores in san diego don't have a gamecrazy attached? I was going to see tomorrow if any restocked.
 
went shopping at mira mesa target today and there were about 6 copies of ps3 prince of persia for 27.xx

i still regret not buying the ps3 rock band 1 bundle for 70 bucks last spring
 
So who's down to swap me their one day badge when they leave on Saturday? Any takers? Hahaha seriously. We used to use that trick all the time in high school when Comic Con sold out.

i walked in once with no badge, but only because my friend had it and i had to go find him.

security didnt stop me!
 
Back in like 11th grade my friend took my badge, scanned it into his comp, photoshopped my name out, put his in and printed it out. It was just missing some silver glossyness that the original badge had so he bought a silver glitter pen and that took care of that. hahahahahaha. Being a stupid kid ruled.

There were definitely other ways of getting in that weren't as complicated but I think I've said enough. Hahahaha
 
Man, Comic Con is only a few days away and I'm really, really, dreading it. Here goes 5 nights with little or no sleep. Haha.

I wonder if there's anything worth getting or waiting in line for.

The final Lost panel is going to be one of my top priorities. I wonder how early I should get there for Hall H on Saturday. I didn't get to go Saturday last year.

Yeah, I plan on camping early in the morning for Hall H on Thurs/Fri/Sat.

Damn... I was hoping Preview Night was the one day it wasn't crowded. I have to pick up a friend from the airport at 6:05 tonight :(

Will I be missing out on much if I'm late? I'm thinking no based on how the hall works, but I haven't been to Preview Night before.

I think you might only miss out on Comic Con exclusive stuff if you're late. Otherwise the exhibit floor is pretty much the same till Sunday. I honestly think it's going to be crowded tonight, but I hope to get there around 2 or 3 so I can get my pass and wait in line (if any) for the exhibit hall.
 
anyone know when exactly the Capcom sticks/pads go on sale? i know kotaku mentioned that the vinyl sells on Friday, but i don't remember seeing any details on the controllers.

Have your friend take a taxi to the con. It's literally down the street anyway. Saves you a headache of finding parking.

seriously ull get stuck in traffic like hell and ull be waiting like 20+ mins finding parking and having to pay for it anyways unless youre REALLy lucky.
 
Comic Con Preview Night random thoughts:
-Why'd I get there at 2pm? Once I got my badge there wasn't much to do till 6pm. All I did was walk/sit/walk/sit to kill time. Thankfully I had my mp3 player.
-Preview night is unofficially the 1st day in my opinion. There's so many people on the exhibit floor. I had the unfortunate luck to brush my arm against an older, bigger gentleman's arm and boy was it sweaty.
-I love how last year you could pre-register for next year's (2009) Comic Con and it was only $65. Now to pre-reg for 2010, it's $100. I still paid anyways. I'm a sucker.
-Hall H's lineup seems kinda weak, at least tomorrow's schedule. For those who don't know, Hall H is the biggest hall in the convention and it holds all the biggest movie panels. I planned on camping in the morning for Thurs/Fri/Sat but now I'm not sure. I'll have to peruse through the other days.
-I didn't bring enough water.

On a side note. the Plaza Bonita Gamestop has one more copy of the Limited Edition of Prince of Persia for the 360 as of 30 min ago. Inside the box/slipcover is a regular copy of the game. How do I know it's limited edition or not? Is it supposed to get inside the case?

Forgot my first purchase:

$10 well spent I say.

They went on sale today. My friend picked me up two TE sticks (PS3/Xbox). He told me it was a huge line so go early tomorrow morning to see if there are any left.

yeah, my wife got a PS3 stick, but she was told they didn't have any 360 sticks "available today". i don't know if that means they ran out, or if they aren't selling those til' tomorrow, or what.

There are a lot of people buying exclusive stuff tonight so everything that might be in limited stock will be gone. My friend got there at 6pm and told me they closed the line for the Buzz Lightyear and Soundwave figures.
 
Capcom was so crowded that it's hard to navigate. Man, so many people at Preview Night.

I'm thinking this will be my last year to attend Comic Con. Knowing myself, I probably pre-reg anyway and let my other friend use my badge after I get a taste of just 1 day. We'll see how it goes.

yea i hit up capcom 1st to get the stick 4 the xbox it was really easy ccuz it was the first thing i got to haha probaby gonna sell it though. wish me luck tomorrow 4 haasbro
