Based on this thread's recommendations, I went to Lolita's in Kearny Mesa yesterday for some Carne Asada Fries. My kids had California burritos. The Fries were finished off this morning for breakfast, the order was HUGE.

After buying 15 or so GC games this summer, the wife has declared that I can't buy anymore for the time being. So I'm content playing my GC games for the time being.

Haha, I caught the latter part of the game today. My brother said before that they lost because they were down by so much. But I was impressed seing them pull up big in the end. Rivers is a pretty damn good QB.
 
Man now that I got a second look at it, Chad Johnson's second touchdown dance was a mock of Merriman's "lights out" dance. What a pussy ass cheap shot since Merriman wasn't even in the damn game.:boxing:
 
I saw three lights out dances. Two from the Bengals (one from Chad) and one from a Charger (I think it was Shawn Phillips).

Who's going to Wal*Mart for a Wii?
 
I was playing GoW on my LCD monitor and the game was on at the same time, and every 2 minutes the Chargers scored. It was crazy good!
 
If you guys plan on camping out for a PS3 at the Wal-Mart on East Palomar be advised that there are already 5 people waiting. No it's not me, I just saw a couple people lined up and all I had to say was, "PS3," and they nodded with a look on their face like, "no fucker you ain't getting my spot in line." There are other campers supposedly at the North County stores too (just saw it on the local news). Have no idea if these stores will actually kick the campers out though.

I plan on getting a Wii at the Poway Wal-Mart Friday and I'll be getting there straight after work around 7-8pm, my girl is going there around 7pm. I'm hoping there aren't 30 people ahead of us.

There are 2 people in front of Sweetwater, Circuit City and the one in Encinitas as well.

'cause the next guy is willing to spend days waiting outside for the damned thing. 12 hours? maaaaybe..... but days? HELL NO. and if they're waiting this long just to sell them, then they really dumb. or poor. one or the other.

you really think these people are camping out to play resistance and genji???? pshhh. these people don't like games as much as you. they like the ebay profit. every time a guy comes into our store asking for a ps3 pre order i ask them "no pre orders man... but if you did get one would you want to play it at launch or sell it on ebay?" what do you think their answer is?

I just called.. they said they were getting EIGHT 60gb ps3's.

I'm number 9 in line..

So I'm guaranteed one next month for sure. Unless Sony or stop fuck up bad enough that I don't get one.

They already had a couple Wii and PS3 games on sale. The only notable ones out of that was probably Resistance Fall of Man. A couple Wii accessories here and there but no controllers or anything from worthwhile from what I could see.

I didn't want to make this a new thread, since I wanted to keep it lowkey, but I just got done talking to the manager at my local EB and he was confused why I didn't pre-order a Wii at his store. I got in on the Amazon deal, so hopefully they will come through for me. He also dropped me a line that there will be an extra shipment of Wiis for two select EB/GS stores within the same mall (Westfield shopping mall to be exact). Nintendo is officially sponsoring this mall during launch day and both stores will get a shipment of 100 Wiis each, for a total of 200 in one mall. This is including pre-orders, so most likely there will be around 70 extra (per store depending on how many pre-orders were made) or so for people to buy on launch day who didn't get to pre-order. Also the extra shipment WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER. I don't know the exact details, so I would advise you guys calling these stores in advance.

No idea as to how many people know of this information by now, but I'm betting not too many people know of this yet. Forgive me if this turns out to be just a rumor. Just wanted to give you guys first crack at this.

Hmm, I was thinking of getting the Wii on launch at CC, because of the 40 off 199 coupon. But right now, I don't really have any need for Wii and I'm not sure if this coupon will work. Plus, I'm not sure if I can even grab one on launch day. So has anyone had any luck using the scan of the coupon [claiming it was sent via email, having a clerk punch in coupon code]? If anyone has had any luck with this, I might be even more tempted to buy one, but I probably wouldn't use it until 2007...

I called gamestop yesterday and they said I wouldn't be able to get a preorder since I'm number 9 and they are only getting 8.

Gamestop called earlier today around 3pm and told me that I had a preorder available to pick up on Friday.

I get all excited and I'm shaky throughout the rest of the day.

Just now, I read through this entire thread. Then I wrote out how I'm going to make my eBay BIN description and settings.

Then I checked my phone and noticed that Gamestop called. They left a voice mail, and I check it to hear the store manager's message that they made a mistake and that I'd have to wait until next month.

Now I'm just sad. At least I don't have to deal with picking the ps3, worrying about being scammed, and any other pressure that I felt for the past 6 hours.

What a day.
 
Here's the situation. El Cajon(San Diego) Best Buy is to receive 134 PS3s. Forty 60GB and ninety-four 20GB PLAYSTATION 3s. The mall security made it clear that they would set up a line up area and at around midnight they will make the call for people to start lining up. It would just be a mad dash to the line. No one was allowed to run under the security tape or jump over the barricade or they would get kicked out of the property. Sounds simple? I guess. But... Didn't sound too smart.

Around 8 PM there were at least 100 people outside of Best Buy already waiting in the parking lot, in their cars. The Westfield security announced that when Best Buy closes at 10 PM that everyone had to be inside their vehicle or be escorted off the property.

Random tidbit: some lady had a 15 seater van filled with illegal immigrants and homeless people that she PAID to run to where the line would start at 12 midnight. lol. They were getting harassed left and right.

Anyways. People started getting rowdy. The crowd quickly turned into 200+ people by 11:30. At around 11:40 PM the crowd was honking their horn and causing disturbances in the parking lot. The head lady who was in charge of security for Westfield went in one of the security vehicles to check out what was going on in the other side of the lot. She stated before she got in the car "EVERYONE STAY PUT IN YOUR CARS, DON'T MOVE!"

As soon as she left. Some girl in a red sweater started running towards Best Buy. And then everyone else followed suit. So twenty minutes early, over 200 people started running towards the entrance of Best Buy.

Wow. Motherfuckers started tramplin' over each other. People were on the floor checking if they were bleeding and there were people pushing each other. I'm suprised that a riot didn't break out then and there. The security guys were scared shitless and were getting heckled all night. No one cared about the security tape or the barricade. It was actually ripped apart and there was no line, just a mob at the door.

Some idiot thought it would be a great idea to form another line on the opposite side of the entrance. So now there were TWO lines forming near the same door + a mob in the middle in front of the entrance. This was not good. And it wasn't even midnight.

Security didn't do anything.

El Cajon Police Department didn't do anything.

They just said to let the "people handle it themeslves"...

What the heck? So at around 1:30 AM a Best Buy rep comes out and tells the people how they are going to line up. So he comes out and tells everyone on the left side(The fake line) that they're screwed, they disperse and just cut in front of the right side(the original line) and pretty much everyone is fucked.

They started hand picking people that weren't even in front of the line to form a new line.

Some annoying motherfucker who bragged about preordering 9 Nintendo Wii's and was bragging he got interviewed on TV, and WASN'T even in line anymore got to the front.

Wow.

El Cajon for the lose.

Class action lawsuit against Westfield Malls was overheard from a group of people.

Nasty day to be a gamer.

Fox 6 News was present and tons of people took pictures. So I'm sure they'll turn up on the net soon. I hope Best Buy and Westfield learn from this debacle...

i havent gone to sleep all night. I stayed up til 4 studying for an accounting 2 test and now i cant go to sleep. my alarm supposed to go off at 730 so i just said fuck it and got up. my sleep schedule has been all fucked up since 2 weeks ago i basically pulled all nighters sunday night - thursday nights for a shitload of test i had that week.

Yeah, my biological clock is on the wack right now, I couldn't go to sleep until 500 and I just woke up at 10 to do homework. FACK school. Luckily I can go to sleep tonight without any worries.

Im planning on tryin to get a wii in SD. im in national city, i get off work at 9pm saturday night, where should i go? Wiii ;-;

go to any target, wal-mart, best buy type store. any gamestop, eb,
or game crazy pretty much has wii's that are spoken for. i don't think anyone will have a hard time finding a wii as long as they are at a bigger store, the hour the store opens, on launch day.

no one's lining up for a wii because there is no profit behind selling it.

I'm not entirely sure about the Wii stock at Circuit City. But you can take a chance and try to use the 40 off 199 coupon at CC. Many people have said it worked, but it is ymmv, so there is possibility of being shot down. But that would be the best deal for it, around 209.
 
Has anybody checked out the PS3 lines in the past hour or so? I wonder what the lines are like right now.. I can't sleep again, so I might drive near the closest Best Buy in Mira Mesa. I don't want to jinx anything, but knowing how stupid people are in the area, someone might get shot if things get too crazy. *knock on wood*
 
Man, I can't sleep either, I have some serious Insomnia... I dunno if going to Best Buy sounds any fun. I'm assuming there are a bunch of aggrevated people. Hope no one gets hurt anymore waiting for these accursed PS3s.

Well I just walked into my local EB and picked up my PS3 at 1PM today. Camping out for the pre-order was a much better idea than having to deal with all the fiascos going on this week.
 
Craigslist is freaking full of PS3s for sale right now... looks like about half of the city's PS3s are for sale there. Poor man's eBay... how many of you are doing that right now? :)
 
i'd be sad at the prices if i had any intention of getting one. i think i'll wait til' i can get one for $200 or less, even if it ends up being used. and yes, i mean i'll wait that long.
