Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:
Lol at you guys. Don't anybody badmouth Kevin Bacon, I'm sure he's on here too.

I'm not into SF4 but kinda cool they held this at Fort Mason. Next year they need to move it to Alcatraz and I'm there!

So Mr. Beef, how's life post-Circuit City?
Things are alright, if not really boring.

I'm surprised those stores lasted as long as they did... Especially with the amount of FAIL prices in them. Lots of brainless suckers buy there I guess.

Is anyone interested in Bionic Commando for the PS3 with lunchbox? I dont think I 'll be getting my preorder. I'll probably just change the amount I put down to store credit or something if no one is interested.

I ended up buying Bionic Commando and got my lunchbox. Somewhat happy with the game, online is pretty fun.

Anyways, any San Jose CAGs know which Best Buy has the Endwar Bundle for the PS3 on clearance for $40? I missed out on the deal at Target.

PlayStation store at Metreon is closing Wednesday.
Third-party titles are 50% off. Doesn't seem to be a lot left.
Resistance 2 CE is $60.

RIP.

I'm not sure if any of y'all frequent Haight-Ashbury but if someone's willing to make a run up there this week or next, I have a huge favor to ask and I'll definitely make it worth your while. PM me.

Hey guys i was thinking about going to SF, but cant really convince some friends to go cause they "already have seen the golden gate bridge."

What else is there to see or do in SF other then china town and the golden gate?

Zip. Nada. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Was happy the heat wave broke early here. First rule of SF weather: leave home without a sweater/jacket and you'll inevitably need one.

Oh this is so sad -- I just read this. Of my rare trips to San Francisco, this is one place I always stop by :(

Lots of good memories from the PlayStation store. The best was probably the EQOA launch party back in '02. Stacks of free games, controllers, EverQuest swag, etc. Fun times!

Oh, and I should probably add to this Bay Area list since I've been living around here like 3 years now...

Yeah, ALWAYS wear a light coat.

Well there always seems to be something going on that's video game related. Between SF and San Jose, you should be able to schedule something. Also, look into things like friendly scenic tours through the Tenderloin, competitive fashion fighting hipsters, gender role playing games on O'farrell, and throwing hamburger patties at vegan store windows.

SF zoo, the fort under the GG bridge, Golden gate park inclusive of the king tut exhibit, museum of science, palace of fine arts, coit tower, pier 39 for some clam chowder up to sutro towers (the big red/white ones in the mountains the crooked road (there are two in frisko) and so on

if you drive across the golden gate, take the first exit and make a left after the bridge (before the big ugly rainbow tunnel) you will go in the marin headlands and get great views of the GG bridge....

go late night to stow lake in the golden gate park (bigger than central park) and look for the lady of the lake... u may see her or not its a ghost tale but i have had friends scared shiznitless to go driving there at night..

there is a ton to do in frisko u just need ot think outside the box

there are a lot of resturants,

Avoid calling it "frisko" and your visit here will be much more pleasant...

Try North Beach. Italian food and adult entertainment, that satisfies 99% of people right there...

Tons of SF4 TE sticks at the Palo Alto Fry's, if you're into that. Saw stacks of about 10 for both PS3 and 360. I want one but I just got a new TV so I'm on wallet probation. :whistle2:#

Anyone know where I can get GT5 Prologue (non-gh or whatever they call it now) at a cheap price? I see it go for $25, but I think it went for less before?

Hey guys, I'll be visiting San Francisco in a couple of weeks and was wondering where I could find a few good independent record stores. Naturally any cool game stores that I should check out too would be appreciated. Thanks!

Independent record stores? Where can you find record stores, period? I know of Rasputin and Amoeba.

Game stores in the city? I know of none except the usual suspects (Gamestops and Best Buys).

^What he said on the indy music stores unless your into electronic music in which case there are others.

Game stores: Try Star Games in SF if your into old consoles and games.

Wow. Star Games. How did I miss that? Thanks for the tip. This place sounds too good to be true. I fear they're closed already, but just in case I will try to check it out this weekend - as should all Bay Area CAGs.

Actually, all I really listen to is electronic music, so that would be preferred.
Anyone here going to California Extreme this year?

Thank you :applause: I had no idea this was going on. I missed last years and really wanted to go but it was too late. This time its closer to home :) and its going on during my birthday weekend.

Oh my stars, I can't believe I never heard of this place either! The closest classic game store that I knew of was in the east bay. Thanks for the tip! :bouncy:

Went to CA Extreme last year and it was pretty cool, but it was a little pricey so I don't think I'll make it a yearly thing. It's definitely worth checking out at least once, though. The best part was that there are so many classic games I've only ever heard of and never actually played, and I got to try them all in one place.

1 Row Behind, 5 seats over from Uematsu + me and gf looking under 17 (using our Asian powers) for 50% off tix = the sweetness
Has anyone seen any endwar bundles at target for less than $45?
I assume this is the PS3 EndWar bundle? I've seen it at a couple Targets for $22.48 or thereabouts.

Update on StarGames in San Francisco, they are open pretty early in the mornings I've walked by at shortly before 11 and they were open.

Talked with one of the guys there, he seemed cool talked about games for a bit, asked what was up with their website. Apparently its still in the design process but supposed to look good according to him.

Trade-in values are awesome compared to GS for what I have traded and give them a thumbs up and hope they will start to have cheaper prices in the future.

And no I do not work here or know them well, I just appreciate the idea of a small video game store in the city instead of going to Gamestops and Best Buys to buy games.

"Shortly before 11" = "pretty early in the morning".
Definitely on gamertime...

I'm also looking for this. Which Targets did you spot this at? I'm San Jose borderline Milpitas area.
